There are homes that are less expensive than these but it's easier for us to your newly constructed homes because we don't need to ask for permission to film, nor do we need a realtor to give us access to the homes.
as a nurse from another state dreaming to be in a better state with great benefits, I really appreciate this kind of content. I currently live in a DR Horton home. More videos like this 🙏
Thanks Jason and Monica. You're videos inspires me that being a Nurse in Cali is a great opportunity. I'm still in the Philippines but the end goal is to bring my Family there. Saving this video then will comment again 10yrs from now. If I'm not there by that time my then my whole life is a failure.
The first house you showed is priced at 420k - 450k CAD here in a prairie province of Canada which is in Saskatchewan. If you'll buy that in a suburb in Ontario, it will be priced at around 700-800k Cad and if you'll put that house in Toronto or GTA that will be priced above 800K cad. My hourly rate as a nurse here is 38.58 Cad and if I'll be on ceiling my hourly rate will be 50.07Cad less almost 35% deductions. The houses here in Canada does not justify the wages their giving to it's residents.
That's interesting, we didn't know that but the quality of their homes out here is not as great as we were expecting. We didn't like KB Homes that much either but we still felt like their homes had better design and quality than DR Horton.
Nice videos! Thank you very much! I remember doing house-hunting for new homes with ny husband like you both. Pls check Lincoln, underrated as well. Not a lot knows about it. We just bought in Twelve Bridges, our first home, closing this tues. Extremely excited I can't wait! I love how you guys are so money savvy. I also work in the hosp not a nurse so my salary is decent but not as high as yours.😅 But I've been saving a lot and did my investments first so just had a soft opening for my rental properties and now brought my first, newly-built modest home well within our budget. Friends are asking how is it possible when you're in Califonia? I will say its very possible. It's all about your mindset.😊💪🏽
Lincoln is on our list and we will be recording there in a week or so. I also have a coworker who purchased a home there. You're also completely right about everything else-it's all a mindset issue and most people aren't willing to think outside the box when it comes to how they manage their money.
Many nurses I work with left Florida because of the huge gap between wages and the cost of living. Many of them told me it felt like it was impossible to pay off their student loans, buy a home, and enjoy traveling while living and working in Florida.
I tried getting one last year, you have to bid on the property and I bid on 4 models but I did not get any. They only release one of each model and there are lots of applicants. Good luck if you want to buy on that development.
in the Elk grove, did you guys like the KB homes or the other ones better? Since I really loved the 4 bed in KB home it was stunning, I've lost my words lol but want your personal opinion.
We definitely preferred the KB Homes. Their floor plans had the better design and the homes felt like they were better in quality (even though one of their faux drawers fell off when Monica tried to pull on it, lol).
Also, may I ask aside from KP south sac, what other locations are near these locations? There’s some Santa Rosa, Redwood City, etc…but the homes are as much as south OC so I want to stay where you’re speaking.
There are 3 major Kaiser hospitals in the Sacramento area: Kaiser South Sacramento, Kaiser Sacramento, and Kaiser Roseville. But Kaiser also has satellite clinical all over the Sacramento area that provide outpatient services like surgeries or urgent care centers.
Elk Grove has been an “affordable” area for some time now. But I like to say: folsom was just land 30 years ago . Seriously. Folsom was dead when Cameron park was thriving. Now Cameron park is icky . Soon folsom will be more icky .
@@NursesToRichesFolsom has been the thriving point to get away from the homeless and crime in Sacramento for some time now. Soo much demand for Folsom. 5 years ago they started to build multistory apartments that now go for probably 2.5k for a studio. They just keep raising the prices even if it drives people out. It’s absolutely disgusting. Id personally rather live in lincoln compared to folsom 😆
I have a question, I’m getting ready to retire from the military. I want to work in NOR CAL but I’m seeing it’s becoming more competitive. Would you suggest I move to the area and complete my school there or it wouldn’t make much difference?
I highly recommend you don't get your degree in California. The nursing programs and schools in this state are some of the most expensive and competitive to get into. Get your degree somewhere else, then apply for your California license.
@@NursesToRiches thanks for the insight. For future content, have you looked into college hacking? Certain schools like WGU allow you to obtain your BSN quicker than a traditional college. There’s TH-cam videos on it already but can help you with content.
There’s a couple internal PD Sonographer positions available at Kaiser South Sac but I’m trying to find out how many hours I’d be working. Happen to know anyone there?
Our sonographers at Kaiser Sacramento (on Morse Ave) are ALWAYS picking up extra shifts. I don't know about South Sac though but, from what I've heard, even the nurses get more overtime at south sac than at Morse Ave.
@@NursesToRichesthank you SO much. I’m a newly single mom so I pray this is my fresh start!! There’s a couple techs here that transferred in and I haven’t had a chance to speak to them yet. I applied to both, thanks to you guys. I don’t think I found this channel by accident ❤
Elk Grove is one of the safest suburbs of Sacramento and one of the top 50 safest cities in California! It has 32% less crime than the U.S. average but you still have to be careful because the closer you live to South Sacramento, the more crime you're going to encounter.

I really like these videos. I’m visiting my family in Texas atm and they are skeptical that there are affordable homes in CA.

Thanks for the videos, the realtors should be thankful to both of you, for sure many nurses will move there☺️
Thanks, Joe! I feel like we should be earning commissions at this point, haha.

Pittsburg and Antioch have best deals in the Bay Area. You should make some videos
I love the hers and his closets. I totally agree with you Monica.....LOL
Lol, I'm OK with that. I don't really need a large closet anyway.
DR Horton is the largest home builder by volume since 2002. They have a ton of construction on the East Coast and Texas

Yes, plenty! But you will find more ranch-style homes communities for seniors that are 55+ yo.
