You two will be really good real estate agengts in californi - and you guys can seriously get a lot of people to buy. I can just see it. You guys are good at introducing a place to people and getting them acquainted to it and comfortable to it. You guys are good at painting a picture of what it is like to live in Sacramento California.
@@NursesToRiches definitely. We've been planning on it since before I even went to nursing school, ever since I chatted with you (Jason) on Reddit, before you started the channel. I'm a year into being an RN now and my wife has 6 years, so we don't really have an excuse lol. I do feel like it's very difficult to find a job at Kaiser there though. Especially for both of us.
Hey you lot! I'd like to say I like your videos, especially these showing houses. I'm trying to decide where to settle in CA and the Sac area has a lot to offer. Especially, RN pay rates compared to housing costs!!
Hi @Jason and Monica, you both are doing amazing work. Please can you include multi-family homes in your viewing? It would help some of us looking in that area. Thank you.
I can see the appeal of living away from the city of Sacramento. There's less crime, less congestion, more land, better schools, and the list goes on. But we're city folk, and we enjoy the hustle and bustle environment.
Personally for me and my husband yes it’s more expensive. my mother in law bought a 2 bedroom and 1.5 bathroom back in 2014. For $210K that house now is worth 450K on Zillow. Major difference. And we live in center California as well as she

Hi! Could you do an episode about houses for sale and rentals in central Sacramento, please? I am looking for safe walkable areas with the parks for a dog. I am ITU Nurse from the UK trying to relocate.
Bought a new house ( new construction a bit affordable ) in mid-500k looking at $3500 monthly mortgage @ 1700+ sq ft. plus in an amazing location. Even our realtor was shocked how we found one. Never give up! You'll find what you're looking for in this crazy housing market. We stick to our budget that's 35% of our net income per month. So that there will be wiggle room for savings and other investments. I will NEVER for the life of me ever understand the logic of buying super expensive house beyond your income and then working 2-3 jobs so you can afford your mortgage! Like its so ironic you bought a house for rest and comfort and now you cant even go home because you work all the time, you're tired and stressed out and you can't even enjoy your new home. Like why!? (I knew a lot of people like this entire monthly salary just for their mortgage) 😅
Totally agree with not spending more on a house than you can afford. I left a part out of this video (intentionally) about a coworker who bought a $1.8 million home with his wife (also a nurse). They spend $10k-$11k on their mortgage alone!

The houses over there is really affordable and nice but the location is so bad. You’re pretty much in antelope and getting anywhere takes forever. Even getting to the high way from there would take 15minutes

Everything in Placer County that is newer/new has mella roos. Expect an additional $3000-4000 a year on top of your regular property tax. Check out Elk Grove and Folsom which is better, especially if you want more diversity (you are asian/black/etc) and your political party is blue/democrat/liberal.
@moialder252 all new communities across Sac have mello roos. Folsom & Elk Grove have higher mello roos at their communities. Folsom is definitely not more diverse that West Roseville. West Roseville has become a melting pot with all the Bay Area transplants. I agree Elk Grove can be more diverse, but it tends to be higher costs not due to Bay Area influx driving it up.
I want to see Auburn! Im torn on living somewhere close to nature vs being more progressive. 😅 Bonus points for recommendations on areas for lgbt families 🌈
West Roseville will be a better fit than Auburn! We have had several clients with your needs. We have nature & accepting community. As you move into the hills it's far less progressive I'm my opinion. Feel free to reach out, I can connect you with some locals that can give you first hand insights regarding their experience around LGBT 😊
This is absolutely insane what you said about diversity. We have so much diversity in Roseville. We have people from india/pakistan, philippines, mexico, Russia/ukraine, china, ect and just people from all different backgrounds. The only reasons you could POSSIBLY have said there is not much diversity, is that we have almost no homeless on the streets(as you'll almost never see a beggar at your local grocery store) and we have very few black people (like 2% which I think is probably what you meant by "diversity" since the guy in the video is half black.) But yeah...your diversity comment really made no sense.
The fact that you said that he's "half black" proves how ignorant you are. Similar Roseville attitude. When people who meet Jason and learn that he's actually fluent in Spanish they are dumbfounded that he's actually Hispanic. Afro Latinos exist. One of our biggest "cultural" shock is how much small minded people are just outside Sacramento. Just because you have a strip of homes that's predominantly Afghani and the next neighborhood has Jollibee doesn't equate diversity.

Yeah, the problem is that interest rates are extremely high at the moment, so renting actually makes more financial sense for the majority of Americans. There's actually a renting vs buying calculator that was recently published by the LA times and I'm going to cover it in a future video.
What does "right wing" mean? Love of country, law & order, low crime, back the blue, lock up criminals, low taxes, affordable living, stop drugs from coming through our borders? If so, count me in.
Most nurses out here own a home. Whether or not they can afford it has nothing to do with their income though. It's all about their mindset and how much of their income goes toward unnecessary spending. The median home prices in these cities are just that, the median. So half the homes cost more than the median and half cost less. Some people are just not willing to spend less on a house because the house doesn't check off all the boxes in their list.
I am very glad you talking about liberal vs conservative communities. Looks like you prefer safe, clean and good schools. My point is if liberals want to live in a more conservative town they always welcome. Priceless.

Are there mello Roos in this community?
Roseville is nice, but too much traffic and gets crazy busy. That’s why I bought elsewhere.
Are there HOA fees within each community? How much?

Yeah, most of these communities have HOA fees that are between $0 and $150 per month
