Hello Lee You should definitely do more videos with Stephen from walk on the wild side Stephen is a Blackpool legend Definitely do more videos with him Lee
what I like about Stephens style is its so laid back its untrue yet he knows his stuff and puts it across in such an accessible manner - those fish and chips looked banging too
One thing I’ve noticed Lee is how much more confidence you have when your doing a collaboration and seem even more buoyant. Not that you lack confidence my friend
Macmaster, another great vid.. You are working TH-cam superbly. You can’t be a master of every city and you are making friends for life by these collabs❤
A very nice video, Lee. A Walk on the Wildside is a nice chap to have on with his snippets of info about Blackpool things. It being a nice sunny day made this one even nicer too. The chippy looked like a very nice place and the staff seemed lovely. The fish looked gorgeous as did the peas although they'd be better on the plate and not in a damn pot. I wasn't overly enthused about the look of the chips though, but I rarely am nowadays. I'm with the chippy man in that I love gravy on chips, but not on a fish. A chip shop battered burger, chips and loads of gravy is a favourite chippy meal of mine. I haven't had an icecream for absolutely ages now, and you got me wanting one now. Rum and Raisin and Chocolate mint chip are two of my favourites, yum yum, and I like the whippy sort too ... Remember Mr Softee icecream, Lee?
Always love my fish & chips with mushy peas. Curry sauce not for me but I do occasionally have some ‘scraps’ also. That was certainly a generous portion for you both and you were tucking into that crispy battered fish. The ice cream at the end looked so scrumptious. We used to call them ‘99’ with a flake in but I often wonder where that term comes from? Perhaps someone has the answer. Another great vlog with Wildside.
Looked a nice friendly place with good food! I did like the ice cream man at the end😂. These are the wee places that need our trade! Hope you both do another Blackpool series soon!
I went into a backstreet fish and chips many years ago in Blackpool and I said to the serving lady 'I bet the fish are fresh here being on the coast'. She said you would think we get them from Fleetwood, but we actually get all our fish from Aberdeen.
As you march to 200K subscribers its wonderful seeing you supporting amazing You Tubers like Stephen to help them too. A great video and that £2 Mr Whippy looked incredible !
Our favs are Yorkshire chippy and The Cottage, you have reviewed both with great scores. We have never visited Bentley's and we will thanks to this! I quote you... "Fwoarr look at the fillets on that". ..... cold bath time buddy....
Thought the name was familiar! Yeah, had a takeaway from Bemtleys on a few occasions but not been for a while! Difficult to say a fav Blackpool chippy but I do eat a lot at the Bispham Kitchen, at the other end of the lights at Bispham. Nice fish & chips but much more, excellent home made staek pies and sausage & chips are really meaty bangers, proper butchers sausages. They also sell amazingly large cakes but my fav of their puddings, especially on a cold illuminations night, is their syrup sponge & custard! The takeaway next door is owned by them ,and is called the Top Chippy. There's also a Cleveleys Kitchen, pretty obviously in Cleveleys!
scraps, by'ere 👍 battered haggis on the menu too, blydi lovely - memories of Forres/ Kinloss back in the 80's 🤗 There was a Chippy in Abertawe /Swansea that did the Haggis but alas "dim rhagor" no more 😢
The tooth fairy was due a visit and my daughter doesn’t want money! She doesn’t want a bank transfer either! Fish ‘n’ chips is what she asks for. By the seaside too. So we pack her scooter and off we go. We scooted from North to South piers and went to Bentleys. I can not recommend them enough. Absolutely 10 out 10. I assume it’s family run and what a team they make. The best Fish n chips in Blackpool. Beautiful. And it has to be an ice cream on the North Pier after we’ve scooted back! Excellent review and it will take an awesome effort if there’s better fish n chips in Blackpool 👍
Walk on the wild side seems a lovely chap Steven did a live from a fire other day wouldn't have known about him but thanks to you have someone else to waste more of my free time watching whilst do the chores.... love a decent fish and chips controversial but a pot of gravy to dip my chips 😊
Stephen is great I’ve learned so much about Blackpool history listening to him In fact what he doesn’t know about Blackpool is not worth knowing Great video we all love fish & chips btw
Enjoyed this one as a few times i told you how good Bentley's chippy is, so glad you got there in the end and loved it! Two good guys, the vlogs with Mr Wildside have been great, funny and both of you have a nice laid back style. Stephen is the font of all knowledge regarding Blackpools history. Just one more tip which ive said before too, get to Pizza Grazie which isn't that far from Bentley's, its outstanding, and you can take your own beers to wash down the great food 😊
Great when macmaster joins up . not been in there as from bpool . But the fish looked big for that price ,sceptical ss usually as how can they profit giving such big fish . Why was it empty . I had a sausage and egg barm from the chicken shop and they were good . most things are there .
The place looks spotless, love all the battered foods, something different. Lovely staff too. You and Mr Wildside have had a great time, good friendship there.
I've been there! Last June when I travelled up to Blackpool to be a wildcard on Landscape Artist Of The Year. Excellent fish (with batter looking like the coast of Norway), decent chips and very friendly staff.
"Take a Walk on the Wild Side" is a rock classic, released in 1972, by the alt-rock genius Lou Reed (d. 2013). It's been sampled frequently, and refers to other things as well, since one can't generally copyright a title. But is there any connection?
The fish chips and mushy peas were spot on, the owner was nice and gave great replies, Scraps, ahhh lad... Loved the Ice Cream shop and the owner, can tell he is on the ball, I would have gone for the Lakes Ice Cream although yours looked great. Steven sure enjoyed his food and tucked in... loved it all, thanks again.
At long last you’ve finally gone to Bentleys what I’ve been harping on about when you do your Blackpool vlogs. I actually think Bentleys is the best chippy in Blackpool i travel there every time we fancy fish & chips and we live in Preston !!! I knew you would agree Lee they are amazing 10/10 all day everyday 🤤🤤
Lee ....😪 U make me sad, living in Sweden for 12 years god I miss normal food 😘 when as a boy in the 70s in Cumbria the church did a summer day out with 2 buses to Blackpool, the highlight of the year for the village ... so simple but made all happy .... 🥰 U make it so on a level of normal Lee....👋
Not viewed a MM vlog for while as been busy but this was a “belter from Blackpool”!! The Fish n chips & sides looked huge & quality too plus the place looked very nice & professional service….fantastic!! Def 10/10. My ice creams wud be vanilla or rum raisin & that shop looked great too😉😎👍🏻
Mister Macmaster great chippy this ..great guy serving ya ..fish & chips 10/10 salt 1st then vinegar to wash salt in NOT off! Uce cream 🍦 vanilla or salted caramel...😊😋😋😋😋excellent vlog with Mr Blackpool Steven such a down to earth bloke 👏 👍
Bless you Stephen, don't feel pressured into eating the same thing as Lee tries.. dig in my lovely and enjoy your food. Looked like another good chippy in the BP area Lee, might add it too my list. I know people slate it but I don't mind coral Islands fish n chips and half roast chicken and chips, both are really good. Would be good to see a review of the chicken or the other food there as I've only seen fish n chips reviewed, not bad if you can grab a table inside too
Hi there, another great video from you like I said to you on your last video of Blackpool. I do enjoy Blackpool. I’m hoping to come there later on in the year to do some videos from your own channel do you enjoy your content I think it’s fantastic how you put it together and you do cheer me up a lot if I’m having a down day as well like I said before I was going to quit TH-cam late earlier on in the year, but listening to you in your videos. I don't think anyone can make fish and chips look so delicious the way you make them look Lee. And your friend is a vault of knowledge. I'm not much of a traveler. But you make me want to come to England. And try some of these mushy peas fish and chips and full English breakfast thank you for all you do
Hi Lee, another great post and the food looked lush, a defo 10. In my personal opinion, I've always put vinegar on first then salt, but thinking again, if salt first then vinegar then maybe a dash of salt after? Not sure, just a thought. Ooooo I love batter bits/scraps!!! But I hope they were all cooked separately in a different fryer, you're not allowed to do them as actual scraps anymore for years due to a change in law over possible contamination with uncooked meat and fish 🥹 My counties chippies haven't done for nearly 20 years 🥹 The batter looks brilliant! Chips look good too, I'm not one for fruity curry sauce and they don't have more options like some places, but it looks a nice consistency. Overall very good, and not a bad price! I'll go 8.9, extra 0.5 if they introduce Irish and Chinese curry sauce 😉
Looks very nice Lee plus i prefer petit pour peas with my cod and chips bit of fresh tartar sauce and some ketchup great content as usual Lee. O forgot lee the complimentary bread and butter too a must.
What the hell is the point of a chippy only open till 8pm? FFS - when you’ve had a few bevvies of an evening and want some chips on the way home - nope, sorry we closed at 8pm. Useless. I have the same problem here in Swindon - my local chippy is shut at 9pm. Before covid it was open to 11pm or later. That aside it looked bloody gorgeous 10+ from me. Looks great was going to try it back in February but I was in Blackpool the days they were closed so went to Wetherspoon instead. The icecream and Donuts I've had from there really yummy!
The owner got it wrong about west coast haddock and east coast cod. Every time I’ve been on the east coast I’ve always been given haddock. Re the vinegar and salt, I do salt, vinegar and salt again
He didn't get it wrong..there's more cod on the east coast due to the Nordic sea. Obviously you can get both on either coast but as stocks go..there's more haddock on the West Coast so he's spot on.
Our favourite chippy and a must when we come to Blackpool is in Coral Island, the chippy is attached to the front of it by the Buccaneer and opposite the Arabian derby. The fish there is to die for. 10/10
Lee, have you tried the Big Papa takeaway next door to Papas restaurant, if not ask for the big papa fish n chips , I've never seen a fish so big , was on the YT channel Tracy and Colin, the food huggers who are friends of mine
My favourite. Woodhead also nice. Tried yorkshire, tower fishieres, lily's but these are the best. Try to try the worst now micky Finns near coral island.
Eating indoors you needed bread and butter and a cup of tea. Got to make a chip butty.
Bread and chips?!! Nooooooo.
You don't know what you're missing.
You are doing a great job promoting these small businesses. Old school customer service at its best.
Hello Lee
You should definitely do more videos with Stephen from walk on the wild side
Stephen is a Blackpool legend
Definitely do more videos with him Lee
Absolutely brilliant vlog LEE and Steven has an amazing channel you are brilliant with some genuine characters Thankyou 🌸
what I like about Stephens style is its so laid back its untrue yet he knows his stuff and puts it across in such an accessible manner - those fish and chips looked banging too
Needs to learn how to use a knife and fork though!
I love Tower Fisheries on Topping Street. I always go when I'm record shopping.
"Look at the fillets on that" 😂 I thought I was watching Confessions of a Fishmonger for a minute 😉 I was expecting Robin Asquith to turn up.
One thing I’ve noticed Lee is how much more confidence you have when your doing a collaboration and seem even more buoyant. Not that you lack confidence my friend
Brilliant vid, you two are very entertaining. Loving Walk on the wild side now too 👍 Thanks Lee 😃
Notarianni Ices is the best ice cream in Blackpool by far 👍👍👍
Ooooh, I love Notarianni's too Duncan. Could just fancy one. Hope you are ok xx
Yes me 2
Looked absolutely fantastic will definitely look for this fish shop and also the I e cream shop too Thanks for sharing x
Quality and service makes a big difference. How smart was the gentleman behind the counter! Solid 10.😉

Hi Julie x
I went into a backstreet fish and chips many years ago in Blackpool and I said to the serving lady 'I bet the fish are fresh here being on the coast'. She said you would think we get them from Fleetwood, but we actually get all our fish from Aberdeen.
Enjoyed Mr Wildsides appearances
Loved the Carry On style one-liner from the Macster..."look at the fillets on that!" 😝👀

Its salt then vinegar thats why they say salt and vinegar the vinegar soaks the salt into the food it does not wash it off
!!!!FISH&CHIPS!!!! Food envy mode activated !!!!NOW!!!! Great vlog 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great video lee and great your with Stephen as he’s a lovely bloke and love his page too

Always Vinegar in with the mushy peas
I think Stephen wanted to eat the fish first but when you said try a chip he was having to put it down and grab a chip lol 😂
You two should be a double act lol 😂 I mean that as a compliment another tip top review guys 👍
Scraps are good mixed in with mushy peas. Salt first then vinegar. Gravy or Curry sauce doesn't go with fish. Caramel crunch ice cream
So close yet so far... Bentleys is fab but the best ice cream in Blackpool is 100% notariannis! 🍦🍦
Great when macmaster joins up . not been in there as from bpool . But the fish looked big for that price ,sceptical ss usually as how can they profit giving such big fish . Why was it empty . I had a sausage and egg barm from the chicken shop and they were good . most things are there .

I've been there! Last June when I travelled up to Blackpool to be a wildcard on Landscape Artist Of The Year. Excellent fish (with batter looking like the coast of Norway), decent chips and very friendly staff.
The bit about friendly staff I put down before I got to the end of the video and heard you saying the same thing.
Mirror ball looks like alien craft in the film the day the earth stood still. Keane Reeves version.

Looks lovely Lee although not exactly large fish and the mushy peas and curry sauce were plate fillers.
Mushy Peas, who recalls, soaking the dried pea over night in a bowl of water with the white tablet with them ? Bicarb i think,
The fish chips and mushy peas were spot on, the owner was nice and gave great replies, Scraps, ahhh lad... Loved the Ice Cream shop and the owner, can tell he is on the ball, I would have gone for the Lakes Ice Cream although yours looked great.

Fish and chips look amazing ,i must have one of them ice creams next time I visit Blackpool 🍦
Love seeing two together . Love your videos Lee .
Well done only 740 fish and chips to go this year and every single one looks so different from the previous one, very unique
The guy in the ice cream shop was hilarious! Well.[awkward pause], ur gonna get it 😂😂😂

It's just the usual terminology from where you was brought up.

What happened to Harry Ramsdens in Blackpool?
Was still there when last went
They had IRNBRU in the pop cooler so they can't be to bad. Would luv to try gravy on my fries.
try it tomorrow😊 lunch time day off great channels
love you both together! , fish and chips look nice, how did you find the premier Inn you stayed in ? I might come to Blackpool at weekend x

Rum & Raisin for me Lee
9/10 Lee, all looked fantastic and made me very hungry watching!
Tell Steve LOVE HIS CAP. Trouble is Leigh are called leopards not centurions now!!
Yes indeed. We gifted the cap to Stephen but didn't know that the club was in the middle of a name change 😄
I'm glad Stephen is wearing it though 🥳
Lee, tried Yorkshire Fisheries in Blackpool on your recomendation yesterday. It was fantastic and the curry sauce was amazing!
Looks great was going to try it back in February but I was in Blackpool the days they were closed so went to Wetherspoon instead.
The icecream and Donuts I've had from there really yummy!
Stephen didn't mess about. He was straight into his fish and chips. Lol

@@JB-Thatisme what I meant in every chippy in the north east they only served haddock as the main fish that was available
Hi. You are 2 legends .brilliantly vlogged.Give Bentley a 10 from us 😊
Our favourite chippy and a must when we come to Blackpool is in Coral Island, the chippy is attached to the front of it by the Buccaneer and opposite the Arabian derby. The fish there is to die for. 10/10
How much that glitter balll costing when back streets Blackpool are suffering some good souls there x
Nice one Lee Not the best but one of the Best But defo better than the palace restaurant🤣🤣 🎥✌️
Now I watched your review on Yorkshire fisheries so I’m in Blackpool from Monday until Thursday gonna try it out thank to you and Stephen 👍🏼
There used to be a fish and chip shop called lindys by coral island they were great
Great chippy that mate. Thank you both for sharing. Definitely gets a 10/10 from me👌👌👍
Lee, have you tried the Big Papa takeaway next door to Papas restaurant, if not ask for the big papa fish n chips , I've never seen a fish so big , was on the YT channel Tracy and Colin, the food huggers who are friends of mine
Fish & chips and whippy ice-cream delish xx
Steve is such a nice bloke 💯 I wish my local chip shop did fish as good as that, it looked amazing 👍
My favourite. Woodhead also nice. Tried yorkshire, tower fishieres, lily's but these are the best.
Try to try the worst now micky Finns near coral island.
I'm in the rife, didn't notice the macmaster though!! 😂
I work the corner. This is the 5 time I’ve missed you 😢
