I decided to learn violin. I'll turn 60 years this June. It's never too late. Although, I play accordion, guitar, mandolin and piano but no so good as the first three, I believe violin will not be so scary. I have graduate Musical HS back in late 70's so reading of notes is not a problem to me. I ordered student violin and can't wait to start. Monty's Csardas is one of priorities! How far I'm going to make, will see!! Wish me luck!!

I was 60 when I picked up the violin and I said I want to learn this. Almost everyone said " are you kidding ?" No I was not kidding. I am 70 now and I play violin to the best I can. I enjoy it and I really don't care what anyone says. Its fun, challenging and you never be getting tired of playing it. I say John Doe , go for it you be good.

Thank You for your support. It's been a two months since a posted my comment. The violin arrived the same day. Very soon I realized that the piece I ordered needs to be replaced. Simply I grew up and needed better. I'm still no close to Czardas but figured that the violin is not so scary. It's going better than expected. Violin I bought (Carlo Robelli) sounds very nice. Let's have a fun!

John Doe I graduated musical Highschool in Romania, but I almost quit music.I just started to play violin again. The last piece I learned was Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, and now I started to practice again.I also bought a guitar and started to learn how to play it.Because of the music theory, and the experience with playing the violin I find it easier to learn.I am playing the Prelude from Bach's Suite no 1 on my guitar now.I also played the piano in high school, but I never had enough money to buy a piano or an electrical piano.I only have a keyboard with 5 octaves, but maybe I'll.manage to buy a professional one in the future.

When I was young I wanted to learn to play the violin. No one in my family played anything. My school teacher said nothing to me about having my violin 'set-up' and I eventually gave up my lessons because it hurt too mad. Turns out the strings were set woo high and there was no way I could build up toughness in my fingertips to fight that height. Find a professional who works on violins. It will be worth any price.

I regrett I cannot give more than JUST ONE thumb up ! I've listened dozens of Csardas executions, and this is incomparable to anyother one. This is a GREAT MASTERPIECE, the "secret place where music lives", in the deep of the woods is simply a WONDERFULL figure, the "discovering" of the piano on the radio, and TEMPO and FEELINGS she playing the violin is much more beautifull then many other executions from much more famous players.
I've not seen many more videos from Nancy, and I regret it very much. Please... tell me she continues playing violin....

Barbara

    Just imagine...
You live close to a forest, and every night you hear a violin in the distance. The melody let you hypnotized every time you listen to it, and you try to find the origin of the melody. One day, you decide to go to the forest, and the melody sounds closer as you get into the forest.
Then, you find a woman playing the violin, she is who has been playing that amazing melody every night, she is who you were looking for.
She look at you and smile, you are so hypnotized that you can't help but start dancing. You are feeling like in a dream, just like in a fairy tale. When she stop playing, she rise her hand towards you and you hold it, then she takes you in the dark of the forest, more and more. You can't help but close your eyes as you go deep into the forest, until you fall asleep. When you wake up, you are lying on your bed, all of it was just a dream?
The next night you go to the forest again. This time you don't hear the violin, and you don't find the woman of the last night, but you can see footsteps on the ground. That says you that you really were dancing there last night, and you weren't alone.
You follow the footsteps, but it get loose into the forest, in the middle of nowhere. Even with that, the footsteps don't lie, and you're sure you were there with a woman last night, dancing in the middle of nowhere.

philipp wilkendorf I left because I didn't know whether I should have continued after my dad's mother had a heart attack. She inspired me to start since she was a former violinist who played through most of her life and often spoke about how beautiful the violin sounds over the phone when we had the chance to talk with one another. I thought I could make her pround if I started playing the violin and I was glad that I could hear her squealing out of joy once I told her that I began taking violin lessons. She helped me with learning how to position one's self when playing and what I could do differently to improve myself which made me very happy. That was until one day in the early morning where I was practicing did I hear my dad yell from my parent's room to pleass stop playing. I was shocked because he loved being reminded of what his mom did in her youth and I often played some of her favorites. I went to my parent's room and found my dad crying and my mother consoling him and I asked what happened. The moment they said that my grandmother passed away in her sleep, I immediately put away my violin. I couldn't have it remind my father and I that we lost one of our most precious people in our lives. Even when I tried to go back, I didn't have the heart to continue when my father was at the brink of tears when he heard me or any other person play. He tells me it's okay to continue if I really want to, but I simply cannot when he loses a bit if his smile when he hears the sound of the violin.

Well, at that time, there was one young lass who had mastered the violin, dare I say! ~ What a performance she gave, that forest day. All the wildlife in vicinity of mountainside, and the birds that fly, must have been spell-bound at her singing violin! ~ In fact if you listen close, you can here among the audience, the birds sweet approval at the end.

    Everyone;
If you are feeling down today, remember this:
Life has its ups and downs! No matter how bad you feel for how long, you will always get better in the end. But if you are ok or not, hang on to what you believe in and who you are.
I hope that you have an amazing day, whether it’s tomorrow, today, or in a few weeks!
This music is lovely, it really helps with just relaxing and forgetting about problems.
So take the time it took you to read this and forget that you have any problems

I was depressed at one point in life when I thought I should run away. Then I started listening to all musicians that played uncut....like piano, flute, violin, guzheng, and so on....2hrs on research of good music and earpieces on most time of the day. I started reading Russian fairy tales, Belgian comics and many more interesting things. This way I reversed my state of mind...and now I am the happiest person. I even started painting and people appreciate my work. Wonder what would happen if there were no real artists in the world.
