Thanks for the video. Just done mine and that's one awkward location and incredibly difficult to get out and back in. I couldn't get the top screw back in on refitting despite my best attempts!! Amazed I got it out. Working fine with just the bottom screw now holding it in place.
Just found out today no fan for 3 slow speed positions but full speed on 4, this video was spot on many thanks, new resistor ordered job will be done awesome.
Another thanks for the video. Just replaced mine. Boy was that a tight squeeze to get my hand in to get the module out. I even had to 3d-print a stub handle for the torx bit because there wasn't room for my 'standard' handle. Couldn't have done it without watching your video. Thanks again. And yes, I left out the top screw.
Well I can only say thank you for your video it was very helpful and informative. Although the task of removing the screws on the resistor housing was an absolute nightmare of contortionism. Even ended up butchering a torx screwdriver to make it easier to at least get the bottom screw back in. I admitted defeat on the top one after I dropped it for the third time! Thank you again 👍
Nice one Gavin. Had to watch the video twice to locate the thing, its well hidden even when you've been told where to find it. I removed the lower dash panel (five screws) which made the tricky bit a little less tricky and I managed to get the top screw back in too! Cheap as chips £5 replacement part No 1325972 off eBay. Also noted the bit that fails is the thermal fuse across the top, its seems to be rated at 250v 10A 192°C and is also available off eBay at Poundland pricing!
Very helpful video, and very clear and well-lit, given how awkward it is to get to - thanks! My blower motor started making occasional squeaking noises a week ago, so I think its bearings are failing and I will need to deal with that before replacing the resistor pack, otherwise it will probably fail again quite quickly.
Hi Gavin great video. Struggled no end trying to take the sensor out. I am now a certified contortionist advanced level. Also bought a cheap replacement sensor off Amazon. Works perfectly fine. Took your advice and tested it before installing. Cheers mate.
Thanks mate i done it step by step like you , part was 9£ so I saved about 100£ without using services. Bit hard access to remove it coz I am big boy but anyway very happy that I fix it by my self. Peace
Thanks for posting this, bit of an awkward bugger to fit though!. Found it easier to remove the plastic cover underneath the steering wheel to help get access. Bought a cheap one for £4.59 off eBay and works great.
I was thinking this, as I am having difficultly getting into the resistor location. Notice they have moved them into the passenger footwell on the newer models.
Thanks for this video, local garage told me it was in behind the glove box so I've been crawling about in the snow trying to find it!!!!! I'll pop behind the pedals when it stops snowing!
Just replaced the wife's thank's to your great instructions - corking! If you're not flexible I'd advise you phone a friend. £5 fix, mind they don't last do they - only 247,000 miles :-)
Mate, absolute legend, fiddly as fuck but I got mine swapped out and it's all working now. The previous person to carry out such a task on my car it would seem did not replace the top screw, so only had one, Leaves me a little worried about its sturdiness but relieved I didn't have to contort my 6"3 stature in my footwell any longer lol. Thanks again buddy.
Brilliant video thanks for posting it 👍 it looks really awkward to get at? Would it make it easier removing the front seat? Or is do able but just fiddly with the limited space? Thanks anyway.
does it have to go back where it came from, ive let my one just hang down under the cover,as i could not undo the screws, will be ok there ?,or does it have a cool fan cooling it down when i use ?
I now know you have somebody sat in the passenger seat with their foot on the clutch while your under there u feel the screws ure ylnot able to see them
Went in Maplin & paid 30p for a TH184C thermal fuse. Cut off the old one & solder on the new one & away you go! Local motorfactor wanted £30.90 for the whole unit, but I wasn't paying that! That's why we drive fiestas!
Any chance to show me where is the blower motor placed. Soon I replace the heater resistor, its burning up. Someone said that the blower mottor is the problem but I can't find it.
I have managed to change mine after ripping half my skin off my hand lol but one of the screws that keeps the resistor in place fell and have no idea where it went. Would anyone know what type they are and where to get them.
Brian, this is the one I bought. I'm not sure about the items on ebay but I went with the one below because I needed it next day delivered. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00EIA8JBK/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went down the scrappy to pick up this and b4 I watched this video I had no idea where it was located yet the scrap guy kept having a go at me where is it where is it I was like hold on a minute you work in a car breakers yard and don't know where it's located I ended up punching the guy out for his mouth lol
I remember watching this vid a year or so ago, must have forgotten to give it a like, rectified that this time - second time you’ve helped me, thanks.

Thank you. Replaced the resistor in my son’s fiesta in less than 10 mins. Only possible thanks to your video 👍
I can't because the location for it is wank

This video is brilliant , I was able to change my boyfriends heater resistor with no problems ! Cheers
Your welcome 👍
I really appreciate this. So clear. Very hard to get to the resistor but this video made the process much easier. Thanks!

Thanks for the help, had the same problem on my 2004 Fiesta and now it works.

Thanks for the vid and the detailed tips. Had to get into some yoga positions to get the job done, but simple enough in the end! Cheers.
Thanks mate. If was not you, no one could help me better. Thanks a lot!
Thanks ....on my 2014 model it was on the other side (passenger footwell) but same location and principle to change
Good video 👍
Great video. Good tip at the end!
Thanks, really helpful video 👍
Just replaced the wife's thank's to your great instructions - corking! If you're not flexible I'd advise you phone a friend. £5 fix, mind they don't last do they - only 247,000 miles :-)
Cheers for the informative video, working like a charm. The part was in a different place on my 2006 fiesta. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice vid. I soldered in a new thermal resistor. 192c at 10A.
Only cost £5 new
Cheers bud works a treat now, that top screw was a tricky one lol
What a usefull video! Thanks a lot!😁
Thank you sooooo much!! You help me a lot ! 😃😃

Thank you. One hint, there is no need to take off plastic cover, resistor is not covered buy it, just be careful not to drop screws :)
Great video, thank you!
does it have to go back where it came from, ive let my one just hang down under the cover,as i could not undo the screws, will be ok there ?,or does it have a cool fan cooling it down when i use ?
sorry bout how on he'll are you managing to get to the screws on the resistor with the clutch pedal being in the way
I now know you have somebody sat in the passenger seat with their foot on the clutch while your under there u feel the screws ure ylnot able to see them
Press the clutch down then cable tie it using to ties.

Very clever thinking mate if I was good with even basic soldering id have attempted it ;)
Only question is what amp was the fuse was it 16?
Thanks great vid 👍👍👍
I pressed the clutch pedal and then cable tied it down (use two ties) this gave ample room to get at the top screw although both were a git to get to.
Will this be in a similar location for a Mondeo of the same year?
Any chance to show me where is the blower motor placed. Soon I replace the heater resistor, its burning up. Someone said that the blower mottor is the problem but I can't find it.
This task is much easier if you unplug the resistor before trying to take it out/ putting it back in.
Where is the air conditioning and heating fan located in the car? Can someone help??
I have a slightly different problem ...the heater stays on full heat ...any ideas ?
Thanks for the video
Is this the same for a 2008 ford focus?
I just changed my heater blower but keep getting a burning smell is that normal.
Mine is doing the same. Did you ever find out why with yours?
I have managed to change mine after ripping half my skin off my hand lol but one of the screws that keeps the resistor in place fell and have no idea where it went. Would anyone know what type they are and where to get them.
Cheers mate those screws are an nightmare to get to
Cheers, just replaced mine and now working. I must admit it goes smell a bit when running, is this because it's new. Have anyone else noticed this?
what screws are they? m5? my car doesn't have one fitted for some reason
Pretty sure from memory they are a t20 torx screw.
witch partnumber ? LOOKS same as OPEL/GM/Vauxhall
How much price brother
Should have mentioned it was the same procedure and part on my 2009 Ford Fusion 1.4TDCi
Nice vid Gavin, where did you buy resistor from? are the ones on ebay ok cheers Brian
Brian, this is the one I bought. I'm not sure about the items on ebay but I went with the one below because I needed it next day delivered. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00EIA8JBK/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the video! I still can't get my fat hands up to the damb thing though.
I had this trouble being a bit portly, press the clutch in and cable tie it down using two ties.
Need to be Tom Thumb to get to it lol
Well i changed my resistor and still nothing??? Anyone help... Could it be my blower motor????
Hi Scott if nothing at all works on any settings 1-4 then definitely heater matrix needs replacing
I can't get at the restrictor unit. It's in too far so unfortunately am going to have to go to ford to sort it out.
What a fiddly job. Can anybody explain why the resistor has to be in that awkward position or in that hole? The screws that hold it in are T20 btw
I went down the scrappy to pick up this and b4 I watched this video I had no idea where it was located yet the scrap guy kept having a go at me where is it where is it I was like hold on a minute you work in a car breakers yard and don't know where it's located I ended up punching the guy out for his mouth lol
You will probably find its the thermal cutout on the resistor if you can get one just replace that. Thats what i did .
Anyone wants to come and replace mine for a fee in Chelmsford? I've got the part, just can't get to the thing!!
Make the drive to South Wales I'll do it for free haha
How the fuck you got in there I’ll never know.cant do mine.fuck it
I got a child to do it. In an earlier age they were sent up chimneys for the same reason!
Great video. Good tip at the end!
