The difficulty in separating the lead .22 bullet from the copper is due to the lead being able to readily alloy itself to many nonferrous metals. Copper being one of them. If you do remove the lead, you will find that some of it is now intimately mingled with the Copper, (copper has all the fun) A fun video, keep making them.

I got back from the range shooting my PSA AK105, same model as his too and it's well regulated with wolf performance, slightly over gassed as all AKs should be. PSA sometimes regulates gas on their AKs too low for some ammo like Tula. This AK-105 from them is more correct to Russian spec than their previous AKs from the 3 samples I have of various models, I was very impressed with this AK105.

And you can see where the round went into the ground - the ball rolled up the hill after it - a couple of minutes with a spade and you have found the round.
I asked Chatgpt why it was louder the first shot and this what it said.
The first shot being louder when firing an AK with a suppressor (silencer) is due to a phenomenon known as "first-round pop." This occurs because suppressors work by trapping and slowing down the expanding gases produced by the fired round, which helps reduce the noise generated by the gun.
When a gun is fired, there is unburnt gunpowder or other debris left in the suppressor after the bullet leaves the barrel. This debris can temporarily obstruct the suppressor's internal space, causing a slight increase in pressure for the first shot. As a result, the first shot tends to be slightly louder than subsequent shots because once the suppressor is clear of debris, it functions more efficiently in reducing the noise of subsequent shots.
It's worth noting that this effect is more noticeable with certain types of ammunition or specific suppressor designs. Over the course of continuous firing, the suppressor tends to function more consistently, and the noise reduction is more noticeable after the initial shot.
Fun fact: 90% of privately owned guns in Australia are bolt action rifles and lever action rifles/shotguns. There are 4 million privately owned guns in Australia, our population is 25 million people. It’s estimated 1 in 20 people own at least one firearm. It’s quite expensive to own a gun here, firearm and ammo prices are marked up compared to US prices and there’s also license fees and club fees for handgun license holders.

I feel like the tank probably offered more protection than the truck. It is a tank after all, although there may be something I don't understand about the setup
People shooting these old tanks typically don't want to risk a malfunction in the turret during firing, as far as I gather.
It's a Scorpion, i'm almost sure it has aluminium armor, made to stop small arms fire (.223 and .308), if the projectile bounced back it would penetrate the armor
@@VodkamanBR jup aluminium armor all sides are rated for 7.62 protection but the front plate could withstand a little more but a 20mm gun or something could pen this thing from the front like butter so not that great protection

15:05 there is actually a test for explosives where you place them in a lead block and have it deform the lead, this copper thing kind of reminded me of that. (also: soft metals are nice because they tend to stay in one piece and not create too much shrapnel, which is why lead was used as a material when making nitro-glycerin: in case something goes wrong you dont have meatl-shrapnel going everywhere)

IMO it would have been cooler if after the BMG you tried to heat the ball to red hot (since copper is one of the best thermo conductive materials) and try again from the start. The softer metal might have made some cool exit holes

@Yuck Foutube True but not many of the fun ones you can get in the states. Like .50 cal is borderline impossible to get down here, AR-15's are kinda the same where yeah they exist here but are super hard to get the license for. I don't know for sure but I don't think you can get any AK platform rifles here either because of our ban on "Military style weapons" and in my opinion the "Military style weapons" are the cooler ones, like i'd love to own historic rifles like the M16 and original Styer AUG, the BAR, FAL, M60, MP5, G3, I think even the M1 Garand is not allowed here.
