Unboxing, Set up and Drilling - Grizzly 8” Benchtop Drill G7942 (new model is G0925)
In this video I unbox, set up and use a Grizzly 8" 5 speed benchtop drill press. The model in the video is G7942 which has been replaced by G0925. Both models have 5 speeds and are 8" drill presses, both use a 1/3hp motor and a JT33 spindle taper. Both have 2" of spindle travel. The low RPM is the only difference I noticed, 620rpm vs 740rpm.

Good work, love all the YJ content
Thanks!
😂😂 You just fuck up the Jeep
Installing these on my JL tomorrow. Have you liked them?
So far they’ve been great, no issues
@ awesome good to hear.
I wouldn't stand there
Did you jack the engine up by the oil pan??
Sure did
Got to do the same thing on my 92
Did you have to remove alternator?
I did not
this is awesome!!!! I want this on my bronco
Thank you i have a 95 yj with this setup and i wasn't sure where the belt tensioner was at. Now i know the belt tensioner is the power steering pump here. Thanks again.
I just picked up one of these
Excellent video! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. Good video.
Thanks!
Good job!
Thanks!
How does this work after a year?
Still working great, no issues!
@ nice I think I might get one with the rough country hidden plate for the 1988-1998 Chevy
Been driving standards 50 yrs I was taught you always leave it in first when parking as well as with the e brake.Nice easy repair was also taught to use the parking brake every time to stop it from seizing up.
Absolutely, in gear and brake on. Having the parking brake is nice for when you need to jump out to do something and don’t want to shut the vehicle down
Thanks for the video.
They are fine for a economy replacement seat, but I doubt I would ever buy them again. Your video made the assembly of the seat look just a simple bolt together job. To me it was a major PITA!! Nothing lined up easily, the brackets were all out of shape and wouldn't come into range easily with the seat bottoms. It finally came together, but it was no simple job.
I agree, they’re a good budget replacement but there are better options out there. I really didn’t have any issue with things not lining up, I guess I got lucky in that regard. Thanks for the comment!
I just finished putting a whole new exhaust system on my 91 yesterday. I didn’t have a hanger there, might have to weld one in. Looking good!
Thanks for sharing this! I'm about to dig into some muffler work myself. I wasn't sure if that part supported the weight or if it just held it in place, curious how your setup works out over time.
I think it originally took some weight, and this set up is more to keep it in place. We shall see! Good luck with your muffler work!
Took my stock 89 4.2L YJ to Gulches a couple years ago and had a blast. Several upgrades later I went again and had even more fun. Love Gulches. Love my YJ. I would go more but it’s about a 2 hour drive for me to get there.
Hi, thanks for that video. Did your belt squeek? or was it just preventive maintenance? My Yj 4.0 with AC suddenly squeeks very loudly this morning. I had a few squeekes before on start up in the past. Motor does run ok. Not sure if it is just old belt (7 years I think) or could one of the components have seized (compressor, altenator, pump).. I think I loosen the tension to see if all can rotate easily.
I’d check everything but I would guess the belt is just stretched a little and needs tightening. The squeak is probably just the belt slipping on the pulleys, but double check
@@tophersgarage9841 Thanks for your response. It now looks like it is the alternator. Well it it 30 years old so going to change it and the belt as well.
I’d say it’s about time, haha!
the charging part is whats got me, and how much is all this stuff to charge it
Yeah it was the first time I ever done ac work so it was a little intimidating. I rented the tools from autzone so that was free. I bought a can tap and two cans of Freon for around $30
The last real Wrangler. After 1997 it were only toys for spoiled brats.
I installed this in my 87 yj. Works great, only problem is there’s so much exposed metal in the cab that it took forever to draw that heat out of everything and cool the interior down. I put a hotheads roof liner in on my hardtop and that helped some. Eventually I had to put sound deadening/insulation in and a bedrug carpet kit. Still not super cold inside but only on days close to 100 degrees
That my plan also! I want to add carpet and some insulation to help! Good to hear that it does help with the cooling
I have a 92 YJ and I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, replace the dash speakers again. I will be floor pods or mount them somewhere else. That dash removal was a nightmare LOL. I have pods behind the seats and I think I will be getting a soundbar soon.
It is a job that is for sure!
This video was awesome. Thank you so much.
Thanks!
Thats a great looking yj! I also dig the look of those tall skinny tires. Nice job!
Stock… love stock jeeps, mine is 95
Thanks for the video! I’m going to attempt to tackle this project myself!
Funny, we both have YJs, Hondas, and beautiful dogs 😃 Great video, thanks for walking me through it. Really appreciate the silent approach too. Take it easy!
Hi I recently did this on my 89 2.5 tbi, not long after installing it would start to bog down the jeep when i turned on the air. the rpms would drop extremely low at idle around 200-400. I know now that it is because its a big power draw and theres no wiring done to tell the ecm to increase rpms when ac is on. Did you have any problems like this with your jeep? if so have you done anything that fixed it? also now i have the opposite problem where my jeep idles wayyy too high when it warms up at around 1500-2500, i think it might be a vac leak but ive been putting off fixing it since when I turn on the ac it brings down the rpms anyway😅
No problems like that, if I’m just idling and the compressor kicks on, it will bump the rpm’s down slightly but it jumps right back up. Could be an issue with the idle air control valve.
How much is the cost
Around $1000-$1200 depending on the kit you get
Was it worth modifying?
Good question, and I think it depends. If you want to carry a spare on the stock carrier, no. If you’re upgrading to an after market bumper mounted tire carrier, it is nice to have a tailgate
Did you regear after the lift? I was hoping i didn't need too with a 2.5". My shackles look upgraded, but my springs are totally flat. Im about to grab some used 2.5 RE springs, and just part out some bushings, u bolts, such. Its got 31's on there now, so im thinking i can do 33 max. But i really dont wanna regear.
Also, how about pitman arm replacement?
No regear, still running 3.07 gears which are fine, not great. For 2.5” pitman arm isn’t needed
@@tophersgarage9841 Nice to know! I suppose, as it's just a toy for me, I can go with the small lift and 33's, and then see how it feels from there. I wanna go simple on this project. Stock as possible. 😎
That is so much work. I think I will just get bluetooth headphones and connect to my phone.
‼
Anyone know if this parking brake assembly is compatible with the 97-01 XJ as well? 😊
Fel Pro shows a different part number. Also amazon shows that part number your using doesn’t fit. 2005 wrangler rubicon 4.0
Interesting, it shows that it fits my Jeep, I wonder if there were some slight differences in the valve cover design over the years.
I guess so. I wasn’t even gonna check, was just gonna order on amazon and happened to notice it said didn’t fit. I double checked on fel pro website and shows same thing
Good instruction. Thanks for not blasting me with heavy metal.
Quadratic makes a winch plate for the YJ that fits
Looks great!
Thanks!
Swap that battery w AGM asap😂
Great video. I have a 1993 wrangler and my problem is that the button on the inside won’t push to the lock position. It may just need to be taken apart and freed up because it used to work. Thank you for this video it definitely was educational.
Thanks!
Great video. Thanks for keeping it simple 🤙
Thanks!
I loosened all the bolts and it seems stuck on there I think the last bolt is the one im trying to figure how much do I have to loosen for the belt to break loose
It can’t hurt to loosen them all up pretty freely. The position is set by the tensioning bolt.
So the bolt that goes horizontally vs all the others on mine I had to wd40 the shit out of it because I believe somehow it’s threading got jacked. Now I gotta get a new screw. But man trying to get that one bolt for 2 hours about had me freaking out
Great video! I've also been without a parking brake on my 91 the 4+ years I've owned it. Super annoying! A previous owner swapped in a Ford 8.8 rear end with disc brakes and I don't know if the parking brake ever worked since then. Yesterday, I swapped all 3 cables and then dug into the rear brakes to check the status and clean them up. Things are kind of old and worn on both sides and after a few adjustments and testing, the parking brake still wouldn't hold. So, I have all the parts on order to redo the back brakes, including the parking brake shoes. I also found out my YJ never had the recall done to replace the parking brake pedal. So, literally, the only thing I can reuse is the adjuster that you replaced in this video! Enjoy your parking brake - I hope to have mine working in the next week or two.
Nice! Good luck!
Nice job as usual.
Gr8 video!!
Good day family and four wheel drive.
Nice work
