    Those vegan shrimp are GREAT when you marinate them overnight! I make my marinade with crushed up nori and spirulina powder, a bit of olive oil, soy, white pepper and some garlic powder. You just fry 'em up in the pan as normal after the marinade, though I also add some herb butter and lemon juice to them.

    Asian veganism usually including the absence of any kind of garlic/onion/any other related alium, this explain your curiosity about vegan seasoning.
    it is so because they're vegan due to their religion, which is Buddhism.
    some of the Buddhist commit to become vegan to control the animal side of human, and as garlic is aphrodisiac, they tend to raise human libido.
    regardless the absence of garlic & onion, I think the taste of those food are quite surprisingly good.
    hope this help

OMG there was so much to try. picked up the shrimp, the bacon, some lemon chicken, vegetarian wontons and a bunch of other stuff. TY for that. I now have a whole bunch of new products to try. am excited. tried the bacon and it's good. very similar to the Lightlife brand. Oh and I also picked up a bag of the Asian MSG. am looking fw to trying it. I agree that you should do another video where you use these in a meal.. with sauce, rice and veggies or something and see how they do.

    My first experience with them I used the air fryer, once crispy transfer to a pan and tossed with a barbecue sauce and cooked till the sauce was reduced and they were fully glazed, all sticky and delicious. I can't get over how good it is! 😋🍗❤

    Surprised you didn't try the vegan duck. That's pretty dang good. (Btw I'm not a vegan). I would have just pan fried the chicken in some oil. I think it's a tofu like product and the steaming is what would have given it that mushy texture.
    Also not sure why you evaluated the smell before cooking them. I don't know of one real raw meat product I would say smells good. In any case I like your content. Keep em coming.

    • @SauceStache
      @SauceStache  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I saw a few videos of people steaming them first... but like you said I do wish I would have just fried them or baked them right away! I only evaluated the smell because they all had a pretty bad/odd odor. Nothing like I’ve smelled in a meat product honestly! And thank you!!

    Your reviews are honest and spot on, I felt the same way about those drum sticks, I’ve tried seasoning and marinating them in different ways, the best one was marinated in BBQ sauce and another with a garlic butter balsamic glaze (it actually disguised the sweet flavor of the drumstick and turned out a lot better than I thought. The idea to do a balsamic glaze came out of desperation trying EVERYTHING to season these drumsticks after spending an arm and a leg on them). Sorry this comment is long but years ago I tried this same wing) from a certain place that did a Buffalo style wing style with the vegan drumstick and it was VERY good. Sigh, I’m just trying to find different ways to make this drumstick taste better and feed the fam vegan style, any tips or advice would be GREATLY appreciated, thank you!! And thank you for all you do 💕

    I think a lot of places uses the veg chk’n’ and it’s breaded and pretty sure fried, or they add a buffalo sauce. It’s usually not mushy to me but more fiber like texture. When flavored it’s very good to me. But again I’m not sure if it’s the same one, looks like it though. The shrimp thing looks disgusting to me, but when I was an omnivore so many years ago I hated the stuff anyway, so. Thanks for reviewing, this is the first time I hear of the baco’n’, I’ll keep my eyes open for it. 🌱✌🏼

    If you sauté the bacon in olive oil or vegan butter it will have those crispy edges like bacon does, I marinate mine first in soy sauce, hickory liquid smoke, mesquite liquid smoke and marinate for a good 24 hours so it really gets that smoky bacon flavor :)

    Hey Sauce Stache, I know you probably won't read this comment but I had an interesting suggestion, why not you take the Lion's mane mushroom, Lobster mushroom and seaweed, turn it into a very thin sauce and toss the Asian market shrimp in that before frying to mask the processed smell.

    Hi !! I would like to provide an idea to achieve the taste of fish regardless of which version, and it is seaweed available in the Chinese markets and they are for wrapping and preparing sushi (they come in paper-like packages). Try it and if it turns out there you will have a fishy taste solution.
