I have a QIDI X PLUS 3. I have to say in the beginning I had several problems with it, but I was impressed with the way QIDI handled those issues. After replacing several components that they sent me along with links to TH-cam videos showing how to properly dismantle the machine for part replacement. Since then I haven’t had any issues. I think you do a great job with the reviews, and I’m glad to see QIDI moving in this direction. I’m looking to get another machine, I had considered an x1carbon but now I’m looking at the QIDI

I've been looking at all kinds of reviews on many different 3D printers until I couldn't stay up each night until 2AM captivated by so many reviews with the Pluses and Negatives of all these 3D printers. Got to the point where I was over it and didn't find something that struck me at 100%. Each printer was missing one important thing or another, UNTIL I came across your video and ordered the New QIDI PLUS 4. I'm happy that QIDI finally has handled and remove the manual Z adjustment of the printer head, where I have seen in reviews that it's a great 3D printer but, you have to do this adjustment manually each and everything you want to print a new part. That's what kept me from purchasing the QIDI 3D printers.
Great video and can't wait to get my hand on this one. Have a few things already I need to print out for my products and concepts. Cheers!

Bambu has been super hush on their upcoming XL project...Bambu will need to meet a lot of feature expectations, along with price expectations. Even Creality got their bum in gear with their K1 series. This QIDI clearly outperforms a P1S at a very similar price point. Hopefully we get a new Bambu printer along with reduced Bambu prices soon!

If I could have a printer at home this would probably be the one I would buy. Mostly I design and make parts for adapting large format film cameras. My next project would be a camera back the takes 8x10 inch film. The parts are wide and deep, but not tall. They must be absolutely flat. Ideally you could use it in the sun and keep it in the trunk of a car without worrying about warping. The only additional feature I could use would be a second extruder to lay down a contrasting support material so that I could get clean, flat and accurate overhangs. That would greatly simplify part design.

  • @TinTalon
    @TinTalon หลายเดือนก่อน +10

It is definitely impressive. I’m always stuck in that loop of saying should I wait and see what the next new exciting printer is or buy something right now that is really out. I mean if you wait, you may never buy a printer because the “new one is coming soon” and if you purchase now you’re might miss out on the new and exciting printer that “changes the printing industry” and if you don’t pre-order that printer now you may not get your hands on it for another 6 to 8 months or worse you get it much sooner than expected but the printer is full of bugs and you spend the next few months or longer basically beta testing a printer that should not have been released yet. Would I like to have that new QIDI printer over a couple of the ones I have now, absolutely, but I like the printers I have now and they work great but they can’t hold a candle to the new QIDI. I do envy you sometimes, being able to get your hands on all the latest 3d printers and printer tech far ahead of everybody else. I know I get stuck in this loops of “can’t make a decision”. I don’t have loads of cash laying around to purchase them all (I wish). I want my money spent the best I can and get the most from it as I think most people do. I do really enjoy this hobby and seeing all the new and exciting things coming out and know that it is pushing the hobby forward which is fantastic. I like that you don’t do the whole “I have to find something wrong with this printer” thing. I mean anybody can do that and nitpick. If people knew you then they would already know that even though you don’t bad mouth any company or printer you also don’t hide any shortcomings if so deserved to be mentioned. It’s so subjective sometimes what some consider a negative. As always I enjoyed the video and I am excited to maybe get to see some more from this printer. : )

    • @LoyalMoses

I know it sure is, what an amazing machine - totally blew away my expectations. I know that struggle is real, you summed it up perfectly well - you just have to jump in and start printing, otherwise you'll be sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else do all of the cool stuff.
I think you have an amazing lineup of machines, that is nothing to be sad about for sure!
Getting all of the machines is a curse too, sometimes I lose the complete interest in 3D printing because I don't get to enjoy it anymore - it sometimes feels like I am just printing to look for problems instead of printing to be excited about the results.
I think you are like most people, you want your money to bring the most amount of value and joy in this hobby -- which lately, is getting easier to do. There are so many amazing and new machines, and I think it will only get better, so even if you don't get a new machine this month or next, just hang on, because the ones right around the corner will be even better.
And I appreciate that... I don't like to just pick random things to fein concern over - I really want people to see the machine for what it is, the total package including the user experience and to ignore or look past the petty little things that some people can get hung up over. Side story -- it reminds me of people who pass on buying a home because they didn't like the color of the walls or carpet. YOU CAN PAINT AND REPLACE CARPET, WHY ARE YOU PASSING ON THAT HOUSE!?
I appreciate you a lot and this comment I saved until last while I was catching up just now so I could have the time to sit at the computer and give you the respect you deserve! Thank you for this. 💜

This feels like a big swing at the X1C from Qidi. Sleek all-in-one design, but a helmet-class build size, and apparently nice quality in the finished prints. And it's the price of a P1S. That's just crazy. Definitely have to keep my eye on this one. If an XL printer from Bambu drops anytime soon, it would be interesting to see these two machines go head to head. Really good to see other companies producing nice quality printers to compete in the space, particularly since the Bambu P1S/P1P and X1C dropped and kind of changed the landscape of FDM printing.

I love my Qidi X1 Pro and Xsmart3 they just run great. This new model will be added to my shop. Been waiting for it's arrival! If you have not tried it yet, try out Qidi Nylon also, think it is nylon gf or CF. I use the ABS GF from them all the time and PETCF. Their top of line nylon though is my favorite material, just prints incredible in the heated chamber. Looking forward to this purchase, trying not to hit buy this evening.....I like the look of new heated nozzle and blower design. Many bonuses in this model, think they easily give Bambu labs a run for their money, and price difference is huge. Qidi listens to buyers and makes quick adjustments to models based on customer feedback, changes quickly get added to their production runs when needed or suggested. This time it looks like they hit a true homerun. The high temp nozzle and heated chamber make a huge difference. I run mostly engineering grade type filaments all the time in my Q1, having that heated chamber makes a huge difference on final quality. I think Bambu with heater runs around $2400.

I have the QIDI X-Max3 and right now it sitting on the floor in a spare room. It has had several problems (it had problems from day one) and the last one, the magnetic pad on the print bed pulled partly up after a print to removed the print - I had waited over 1 hour before It try to remove it. I never been able to get it to print well again (I mostly print using PLA/PETG filament wanted to try some of the more advance filaments like ASA or CF stuff at some point too). I work with the QIDI on the other issues I had with it (they have really good support) and they where very helpfully, but there nothing I can do to get it to print level across the entire bed, the Z-axis offset just never worked evenly across the print bed. It feels like the printer bed is warped in certain areas. I have replace the magnetic pad which came up way to easy in multi areas and hard in other areas.
I have bought replace hot ends, extrudes, nozzles, PEI plates, etc. for it. It has become a money pit and I have given up. I have tried to fix it but its just not worth it any more. I tried for over 3 months to get it to print well again. Every time I think I have it, it works fine for one or two prints than I have many failed prints - always in certain areas of the print bed.
I just cannot bring myself to purchase another QIDI print even though this one sound really good. Nothing against QIDI, they been great trying to support me, just my bad luck - as a good friend of mine whose know me for over 25 year put it recently, you should try good luck sometime in place of your bad luck.
So it a hard pass for me on it I wait and see what Bambu Labs comes up with. I would like at least one 3D print to just work and one I do not tinker with. Yes I tinker with 3d Printers quiet a bit. The QIDI X-Max 3 was suppose to be the always just works/never tinker with printer for me. :(
3D Print has become my new hobby I really enjoy. I have always like building my own computers and water cooling them but now 3D Printing has replace that. I find it very fun and yes frustrating at times but I like the challenge of 3D Printing (the technical stuff for 3D Printing - I am in no way a model designer, not even close).

However, it will be a while before I can do that as I not at work because I am recovering from surgery and have another surgery schedule for early October, so it will be some time before I can take him up on his offer of help.
I still think the new QIDI print is really good and a shot across Bambu Labs bow. It seems to so far have a lot to go for it thought I wish it where closer to 350mm size printer.
Also, an idea for a future video, maybe you could go over the process to print with some of the more advance filaments like TPU, ASA/ABS or CF type stuff. @@makerbit3970 Same here, I bought an X-Max 3 last month and I've been printing on it nonstop since getting it. So far in almost 50 prints I haven't had one print failure or any major problems. The only downside is the poor design decision to locate the sealed spool holder at the rear of the printer, which makes it more difficult to change spools. But there are models out there for external spool-holders if you want to change that. I own other FDM and SLA printers and this has become my go-to. It's not perfect, but it's the most reliable and fastest one I own. And for such a big build volume and a heated chamber at its price, it's great. It sucks that the OP is having so many problems with his - my sympathies. It sounds like he, unfortunately, got a lemon. It happens, it's happened to me before too with other printers. But it's evidently not a systemic problem with their X-Max 3 line, and more just a one-off, "bad apple" situation.

Also... for multi color off of website: Yes, the QIDI Plus 4 is compatible with the QIDI Box, a multifilament automatic feeding box. The QIDI Box will launch in the first quarter of 2025.

Hello there. Based on several videos, I also ordered it. It will be an upgrade from Ender 3 Pro, so it's actually a new beginning, but I'm already looking forward to it and especially to Qidi BOX. I hope that they will also do some special price action on the Box for customers. I just miss a filament dryer with an active fan from this brand. Unfortunately, I had to order from a competitor.

New to this community and your channel and love the content so far!
Really impressed by this unit. As a first time buyer, would it be worth waiting to see if Bambu comes out with a larger printer this year? I’m not in a hurry to purchase, but this seems to check all the boxes. I’d also eventually get the multi color add-on. But I keep hearing about Bambu’s ease of use, which would be great for a newbie like me. Thanks!
