"Otherwise, you're gonna have bread in your balls." That's a horrifying visual "Otherwise, you're gonna have tight, tough balls" And that's a funny one.
I have to say, I really like the look of your 'balls. It's the calabrian peppers that really made my ears perk up. That seems like a boss move right there.
These seem absolutely delicious - but my Sicilian grandparents were basically peasants so their meatballs were much, much simpler, with way fewer ingredients. It's interesting to see how other Sicilians cooked differently simply due to how much money they had.
For the life of me, I can't remember if I ever requested this but it popped back into my head for some reason... how about Mother Bear's fish stew from "Little Bear"?
Mate that cross section meatball squish was illegal to our eyes here on YT. Also I'm eager for the 10 mil milestone and subsequently, the 10 mil special!
Here's a fun one for you to think about: the Iberian sandwich from Kuroko's Basketball! Looks like pork cutlet, Iberico ham, foie gras, caviar, lettuce, tomato, and maybe other condiments on an Italian loaf. You should try it and see if it really is a "harmony of flavors!"
How about on any day in December, you make either: Gingy from Shrek franchise Grandma Spankenheimer's Fruitcake from Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer movie
My Italian American family is serious about the milk-bread addition. Different grandmas use either more or less milk and the grandma who used the most of it had the highest praise. Hers threatened to fall apart, but wouldn't.
So over the many years of making meatballs I've discovered the best method for not over working them is to cut and fold your ingredients into the meat using a butter knife. It allows you to break up the ground meat, well mix everything and also end up with meatballs that have that perfect texture.
Interesting recipe, I've always done a ricotta beef lamb meatball myself for Italian loaf subs or to serve along side my rigatoni & cheese baked casserole.
Hey Babish! Awesome video, as always. Curious if you've ever done a video on scallops. I want to make scallops for my birthday sometime and would love to see your take on a scallop dish (if you haven't already). Happy cooking!
Fun fact for those who didn't know: Peccerino Romano(might have misspelled sorry) is a cheese made using sheep's milk. I learned that at work from a buddy I work with in deli and produce
I am taking notes to improve my meatballs at this stage I go with ham, eggs, breadcrumbs, tofu, beef, veal, pork, peppercorn, red pepper jelly, and black garlic.
If you do more 30 Rock- cheesy blasters (you take a hot dog stuff it with some Jack cheese roll it in a pizza, you got cheesy blasters!), and also the teamster sub would be fun
I wonder if You and Alvin making a Mario Bros's Peach Toadstool Cake in prep of that movie's arrival. I thought there's so many iteration of it, but the Mario Party one kinda iconic to recreate. Pretty Please if you interesting with that - like Bowser did...
Gooseberry pie from Snow White plz! Always wanted to eat that pie with a bunch of green berries. Also, she passed out via apple when the pie was in the oven, and five year old me was traumatized about how it must of gotten burnt. 😂
@@jassetelano7765 Thesis: The Pie is the True Victim in Snow White With all due respect, Snow White could talk to animals, and didn’t listen when they told her that this random old lady was dangerous. Not only that, but she ate something from the same old woman that the animals were warning her about (and let a stranger into a house that she didn’t even own). She’s a sweet heart, but she kinda had it coming. Her animal buddies gave her a place to stay when she was homeless. She at least could have heard them out about that creepy old woman.🤷♀️ The pie could not defend itself. It was left in the oven to be burnt alive. 😢
i love meatballs, cause u can find them all over the world, but there a small things every region is doin differently. Like Babis used bread without crust and made it very wet, so that there won't be bread pieces in the meatballs. over here in my region of germany u totally want to have this pieces ^^
Great video! I was watching episode 6x02 of House M.D. and, in addition to some similarly great meat ball jokes, there are some great cooking ideas there! I’d love for you to do them!
Y'all ever accidentally leave the closed captions on (or do so for comedic effect)? Because at 2:53, I'm seeing freshly grated butter Michelob Reggiano cheese.

Very different from my Sicilian grandmother's recipe. She didn't use any milk, but she also only used ground beef. Maybe it was cheaper that way? She did have 6 kids to feed... Anyways, now I have to try it this way to find out what I've been missing my entire life.
You can hear his genuine excitement this episode.. never seen a man so happy with his balls
A nice pair of juicy, meaty balls. 😌🙏
I am Like #69... so proud.

“Hey baby I hear the blues a calling tossed meatballs and scrambled eggs”
It's a treat to see you enjoying a dish so much (and the puns). Also congratulations on almost being at 10 million.
It’d be great if we got a basics episode on loft house cookies
Lofthouse cookies are a great guilty pleasure of mine

He really outdid himself on this one. This is going smack dab on the meal chart next week. Thank you, Babish!
I work at Sam's Club! Woot! Haven't seen them yet, but definitely getting them when they show up!
A clean plate is never a clean plate till it joins the licked clean plate club in my house.
If I had a cooking show, the licked plate club would be a frequent occurrence. It happens a lot at my house, especially with fruit desserts.

How could you forget Frank’s tears in the recipe?? They were an integral part of the recipe and the episode!
(Also 30 Rock = Best Show)
Right! I kept wondering when he was going to add the tears and was very upset when he didn't.
Mate that cross section meatball squish was illegal to our eyes here on YT.

Gotta love how the video about big moist balls opens with a deodorant ad.

3:10 ..."moisture making mixture"... nice alliteration, and excellent callback to "The Moistmaker"
request idea - the ethiopian food from the simpsons. never seen babish do an african-inspired dish, that could be cool

Feel like Alvin should make Pucci’s and Donatello’s “not-shellfish-fish” flan from Jojo’s Stone Ocean as it genuinely seems like an interesting recipe
As long as he leaves the manifested memory of a dead kid out of it.
Yes please, have to see this. Incredible idea
