- The Accord is all new for 2023 and Honda has made some big changes. On the outside you will discover a new exterior with 19in wheels. O the inside you will be greeted by a 12.3in screen. Under the hood is a 2.0L Hybrid producing 203HP. Is the 2023 Honda Accord the BEST new sport sedan to BUY?

Everytime I see this car on the road all I can think is: Why did Honda make the grill look like a police interceptor?
It looks like a Volvo a little bit lol
Ford Taurus? 👀
Because why not
@@misterdude28,I miss that car.
Basically yea looks like a county/city fleet car😂😂
Minor correction, this is a Sport trim, not the Sport-L. Sport-L adds leather, heated seats, matte black 19” rims, and gloss black splitter, diffuser, and rocker panels.
Thank you, I new that didn’t sound right.
The biggest zonk is the Lincoln taillights. I don’t mind the front or side
“Sport” lol
Sport L is the way to go
Lame regardless
Looks like I made the right choice getting the 22 instead of waiting a few weeks for a 23.
You went with the sport? what was your otd?
Gimme your 22
New Honda will be better in the long run…
100%. The Automatic transmission and detuned Type R engine over MPG's any day.
Some like chocolate , some like vanilla. Honda shifts between edgy ( 2022) and conservative ( 2023). Keeping everyone happy is a balance.
I have the sport L and im averaging about 44MPG. Turn radius is better than average. The driving in itself is very smooth. I am happy with my purchase
Thanks for sharing that Fantastic ownership input.
How do you deal with all the 2.0 Turboheads who tell you got jipped? lol
Too slow tho
@remyd8767 I am a 25 year old male though I'm not a speed junky and drive very conservative. While researching this particular vehicle, majority of reviews were negative by car guys that want to rice it out. Nonetheless, This car meets my needs and I enjoy driving it.
@@nathangonzalez1500 I drove a 2021 kia k5 GT. I've driven very fast cars and hybrids. Hybrids accommodate my driving style everytime.
Thank you for the review Joe! Watching your videos was one of the main deciding factors to buy my ‘23 Accord touring! 2 months in and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned!
I’ve never owned a Honda, but this is the first Honda that has turned my head numerous times when I see it on the road. I always look at the grill. I think I like it. It’s different for Honda.
The grill is butt ugly but ok certain colors it looks amazing
you should get yourself appraised because you're a rare breed
I bought the EX-L a few weeks ago; better gas mileage. I have been getting over 50 mpg, and just love this vehicle.
Damn 50 mpg is insane
Holy smokes. I was on the fence about this vehicle but that mpg really calls my attention lol
I actually got 65mpg on econ mode and cruise
@@franco9001that's incredible
I have just finished over 46 in 3200 miles and a PeterTrout called me a liar.
I bought a 2023 Accord Hybrid touring top trim in black and I love this car. This new gen looks so much better to me, I really prefer this new mature look. I go to the gas station only once a month, the ride in this hybrid is so quiet and smooth, and it drives amazing! Great job Honda 👏🏻
Same just got mine 2024 and it's amazing
Like the design, but it should have four-wheel drive, passenger seat auto adjustment, pockets behind the seats, and ac adjustments available in the rear seat. Gas mileage is great, but it's missing basic things that would not raise the price that much. I've owned two Honda Accords. Would love to return to Honda Accords, but what's lacking is a turn off.
I agree with you statement 1000%
The 2.0t 10-speed will be missed 😢
Tragic
You better believe it
@@beardedxdeathso very true
@Brian_Eugene_Lee no
Great motor! Underated numbers from Honda on it….feels like more.
100% agreed joe. I cannot stand the suv craziness excuse “I need more room ima get a suv” I will take a coupe / sedan with sport-back practical/versatile cargo room over suv.
Depends on where you live and family count. Good luck fitting 3 car seats in a car.
Sedan trunk space is horrible, sucks especially when I go shopping
@@jordanplays-transitandgame1690 Have you looked at auto blog's comparison? The accord's trunk has like the same space as like a hrv or corolla cross and only slightly less than something like the rav4 or crv
@@nishiljaiswal2216 what about useable space? Sedan trunks are so short it's annoying
SUVs are stupid to be honest lol you never will catch me driving one unless it’s massive like Pilot or Suburban size. But if all you need is personal transportation for 4 people or less then a sedan is plenty enough.
Would like for You to mentioned the Sounds System more on all Cars.... I like that also as a selling feature... Thanks for the Amazing work You do...
That's pretty subjective to do. SavageGeese is the only one that does actual detailed testing on the audio b/c you need specific tech to measure it
@@Striker50_I'd like for him to talk about twinke stats in the back because my kids like them more than I do.
Is that too subjective as well??? 🤔
If Audio system is important to you, I highly encourage you to move up the Touring if you can. Much better sounding system. I own it.
@@stevehoppenjanexactly
Alright Joe let’s see how many twinkies fits in this honda accord car
Man I like the way that you think on this one.
This color on this car makes this car looks absolutely beautiful under the full sun light. I’ve seen it on interstate and was stunned.
Thank you for the review Joe!
It actually looks WAY better in person than on videos. I was actually surprised because I did not like them at all initially. But when I see one out on the road, I always ask, "what is that?" Then I am stunned when I realize it's the Accord. It is actually sleeker looking than I thought.
I still think they should have made it a sportback & had an AWD opinion. I live where we get snow.
I still bought the Acura TLX tho lol
Zero personality
No appeal, just basic simple boring design. Looks like Honda don’t care anymore competing with other manufacturer.
I thought the exact same thing until I saw one today, which brought me to this video
How is Acura TLX looking in person? Still didn't seen one.
@nikolagregic7709 they look amazing. I, personally prefer the Aspec & Type S models, compared to base, tech, and advanced models. I just don't like the chrome.
It's starting to grow on me but I would prefer my 9th Accord any day.
Sameeeee. Check my channel out if you want to see maintenance videos for your 9th gen 👍
Completely understandable but I’ll admit these new designs look better in person and at night. Grew on me very quick seeing all the angles of the car with my own eyes
@dougpederson5625 in my opinion, it really depends on the angle ypu're looking at it. It can look sexy AF from one angle, but move 2 feet to the left and suddenly it looks boring as hell. I've never felt like this about a car before, it feels novel.
@@ddg2256 completely agreed dude 😂 look at it from front on it’s actually nice as fuck, but from the side it looks mundane
9th gen v6 yeeeeeee
Great review as always!! But… I’ll stay with my 2019 2.0T; it has everything I need.
The 2.0T is like touring features
Looks like a police car! 😂😂 front end is too long. Either way another great video
New accord is actually really nice, only like the outgoing model for the 2.0t though
I hear you, but I am getting 46MPG on my 2023, the 2023 is only gonna get you 32, so I am happy with the mpg difference.
This car offers more than enough for daily driving, which is its purpose.
I bought one in May. Have 10,000 miles on it and love the way it drives. Didn’t like the body style on videos and pictures but love my Urban Pearl Gray. I have already done some simple mods and people LOVE it. 50-55 mpg and get up 615 miles on a tank of gas. 😊
😮 wow
I am a big fan, keep up the good work. One suggestion, please review the car trims that most of the people actually buy. Not everyone buys sporty or fancy trims. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback and the support!
That’s nit picky. The trims are similar and your brain can figure out the differences.
This is the entry level hybrid version, this will probably be the big volume car.
I have had my touring for about 6 weeks now and love it. The Touring has so many upgrades above the lower trims it is an easy decision. There is a serious issue with the Lane Keeping on all the accords. It wanders from side to side in a jerky manner. My trade in was a 2017 Civic and the Lane Keeping worked well. This is a hot topic on the Drive Accord and Car Complaint forums.
Do you like the height of the passenger seat?
that's not an issue with my '21 accord
I love the looks of this Accord, and the look of all of the new Hondas!
Nice video keep up the good work Joe
Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯
It’s growing on me Joe, like a wart! The front looks like a 90’s Ford Contour. But the rear is looking sorta A7ish. (Actually kinda like that part). Love your reviews bro!!
An SVT contour to be fair 🤷♂️
I've always quite like this current gen. Accord's looks; more than the early iterations of the last gen.; and quite immediately from the get-go, I've liked the total package. I also think, for their respective generation, and considering they are both from the same family, the Accord looks A LOT better than the Civic rn.
I quite agree
Color is so important on vehicles in general. That Urban grey is sweet, I consider all these non-metallic greys cement grey. The beluga whale-like styling is growing on me, would prefer the 2 liter turbo, however in typical Honda fashion seems to be a lot of car for the money. A zonk for the back-up camera resolution, most manufactures can learn from GM's crystal clear back-up camera displays.
Happy owner of the Sport-L here. The one in this video is a regular sport so minor mistake but im averaging 45.8 MPG on 7500 miles driven on city and highway
I’m now at 47 mpg at just over 26k miles
Bought one in the same spec👌🏻 the drive is surprisingly good and I've gotten more compliments than my Alfa Ti sport
It still going be a super reliable car, but the civic and Corolla and camry definitely look way better
no i think accord looks best
Just don’t get the turbo.
No they don’t. In person, almost every Toyota looks bad.
The Lambo looks way better faster too
The 23 civics look horrible. They give cleft lip vibes
It’s a really great car if you’re looking for something smooth, great mpg, and sporty. Very happy with it
Big miss on the styling
The front smh
The back.
I know it’s not everyone’s favorite
The whole car
Agree
Honda dropped the ball on this next gen. this car does nothing for me. It just blends into the crowd. The front end is ugly and the rear needs some chrome exhaust outlets,. Come on Honda you can do better than this! Thanks for the review. Always dig Raiti's Rides!
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective John.
Watching FROM CANADA.

Justin Trudeau is a moron 😢
Joe, give it 20 Zonks for no offering the 2.0 from the previous Gen. Great video Joe!
I feel you on that one joe!
@@RaitisRides at least Honda hasn’t canceled the Accord
It's the only zonk that matters for this car. Real buzz kill.
Looks nice, but that front end is pretty dull!
Trust me you are not the only one that is saying that.
I love that they used led amber for the front and rear turn signals. Most manufacturers don’t put amber in the back. They combine it with the taillights which is ugly.
This is so a good point!
i just got the 23 touring trim yesterday and i love it
I like the new Accord but I agree with your zonks. Especially in the rear

My friends dad had a brand new Accord when they came out in the uk. I always thought they were cool. I was a teenager at the time.
That’s is really awesome. Thank you for sharing that!
Nice, wish they would bring back the v6, add Panoramic roof, rain sensing automatic wipers, Sport seats and it would be great
Back seat looks totally bargain basement budget but for the price I think it's a pretty decent machine especially if you don't haul people in the back that often. The MPGS are a real treat.
Family dad, I want this. Matte orange wrap, no chrome, custom grill. Looks like an Audi.
Has ground noise been improved?
AUTO UPDATE 9/1/23:
- The refreshed 2024 Tesla Model 3 debuts this morning
- Ram TRX is discontinued 2024
- Chrysler 300 is discontinued 2024
- Nissan Altima and Versa (possibly) might get discontinued in 2025
Happy all those trash cans are being discontinued 😂
@Banjothegoat True, lol. However they will probably be replaced with electric trash cans, a worse variant
If the Altima gets discontinued Nissans only car that sell good will be the rogue
@purevanilla4438 Yeah that's true. I heard this from a report from either Car and Driver or Motor Trend. Rumor has it they'll being back the Maxima as an EV.
I have a 2017 Accord... What I really miss in the new Accords is the camera on the right outside mirror so you can see along side your car via a console display. A salesman tried to convince me that a little car that lites up on the outside mirror was just as good. Baloney.
Not really sure how the CVT paddles work...need to research. Thanks for your video.
Totally agree with you about that side camera. I have it on my 2015 model and the lack of that camera is one of the reasons I have not updated that vehicle. It has saved me so many times from hitting cyclists trying to sneak through on my right side. Now I see Hyundai and Genesis including these on their vehicles, so there is no reason for Honda to have dropped it. They have simply cheapened the Accord while the price goes up. I am holding on to my Accord until it falls apart. The other Accord I had I finally retired in January. I was planning to get the new Accord, but that changed after I saw this new model. I decided to finally experiment with an SUV and got me the 2023 MDX. HONDA needs to bring that camera back. They are falling behind in tech.
Nice car and review. Thx
Dropping the V6 was the first mistake, and the 2.0T the second mistake. That combined with the larger size, and the size make it an overgrown commuter, and not a sport sedan.
I would love to have the 2.0 Turbo back with no stupid Hybrid junk!.
and the nail in the coffin is the redesign.
Eco politics
If you need more HP and can spend dollars on fuel then go for Acura. Hybrid is different class bro
All car makers are either going hybrid or all electric by 2026. All in an effort to cut emissions and raise mpg in newer vehicles to about 49
Love the design!!!!!!!
Very few people who still loves sedans. . Nice video
1) If you don’t like the fake sound in Sport mode can you use individual mode to set everything to sport except the sound? 2) Accords do not have satellite radio capability, correct?
I love Honda design. At same time currently Camry has more options to choose for hybrid like panoramic roof (saw in person, very impressive for a non premium/luxury car) although the model is getting old. Lower Camry trims are also more fuel efficient 50+ mpg. I just can imagine what Camry will bring as a new model. Camry is Toyota’s cash cow 🐄😁
The front end is growing on me but yeah it does have an American look especially with that grille
I like the look of this Honda Accord. The wheels look good, but some aftermarket wheels will make it look even better. Looks are proper sport.
What Brand Watch are you wearing? Nice Review
he's got a million subs so it's probably a rolex
I wonder how the road noise is in this accord, sounded kind of loud during the driving segment. Anyway, great review!
Would definitely like the exhausts finish, Honda played it too safe with the styling and no LED fog lamps is a major zonk
Led fogs are utterly useless unless they are yellow.
I want to put urban gray pearl side by side with sonic gray pearl on the Si and try to detect the shade difference
I did this. The sonic grey has more of a blue undertone to it. The pearl in sonic grey is green and is less noticeable than the gold pearl in urban grey.
Urban is slightly darker and has much less blue undertone than sonic.
They have to keep the prop rod in order to be able to put the hood into service mode (higher level to work on). I don't think many car manufactures do this
Those type r accords gonna be cult classics
Has ground noise been improved over the tenth generation?
That's a nice future rental car.
Not a fan of the dealer added pinstripes that went out in '85. Agreed zonk for the chrome molding on this trim, black moldings would have went very well with this color and the black wheels. Honda likely didn't want to slow the production line with another bin of optional moldings to keep costs down.
It's very nice ... but it has spoiler but no fog lights ... why ?
This looks hella nice with the dark tint. I didn’t like the style at first but it has grown on me 😅
Yes I have 5% all the way around and it’s raw with this color
@@Jassysmooth88 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
This generation subject to oil dilution issue?
This car is already in desperate need of a mid cycle refresh
Definite shift in direction from Honda here. More "luxury" than "sport" for sure..... but even then, lacking the rear vents/chargers? I know it's not the only vehicle to miss that feature, but that's just baffling. On a 25K car I would expect that.
accord is no longer a 25k car. The base trim starts at 27,295 plus 1000 destination fee. You will get a cloth seat and single climate zone control for this price.
Luxury: “0”
I love accords they're very nice. 💯

Liking my new ‘23 sport hybrid-L but they have to fix the software update. I hate when my phone doesn’t connect to the infotainment system & also I would like to be using the safety features as well when driving but they automatically turn off after use! Great car on gas I’m averaging 38.2 MPG and I do drive about anywhere from 30-50 miles a day. Takes about $50-60 for a full tank about a week or week and a half. Really tho they have to fix the software update.
Why is your gas mileage so low?
@@joshua9073 that’s what I’m averaging. On a full tank I get 450+ miles sometimes 500 miles
So the Accord Sport comes in two models, the regular Sport and the Sport-L. And the one your reviewing is the is just the Sport. And you can tell that it’s just the regular Sport by the alloy wheels and the silver trim around the door trim. The Sport-L has all black rims, black window trimming, leather seats with heat controls, and a rear bumper diffuser.
Will u be in the miami autoshow I would go crazy if i saw ypu😂 keep up the work

After watching your Camry video I rewatched this one, and to me this is a better looking car.
I thought the l hybrid comes with leather seats?
I love this new Accord. Seems like it’s polarizing, but I think it looks clean and elegant.
If you drive a lot, the Accord may be the best hybrid ever. You just need to ignore the front. Just don't look at it. 😂 The 2.0 is a great little 4 banger
“Just don’t look at it” 😂
You are right about this Accord being the best hybrid ever. And I actually really like the front and the back of this new gen. I prefer the looks in this new Accord compared to the last one, but we all have different taste!
2018-2021 Honda Accord are by far the best looking Accords
I've visited Honda dealership in February stumbled across this 2023 accord. I was like this accord looks hella different like strenchout Volkswagen Passat. The salesman said that honda hired top audi engineers to build these sexy looking Hondas. Go figure 😳
Nice car
I’m so glad that you think so
So glad I got my hands on a 10 speed 2.0L 10th gen sport when I did lol Such a perfect accord after I swapped the tail lights and blacked out the chrome. Don't understand why Honda cut so many corners on the new accord compared to the 10th gen with the lack of ac for the back seats as well as the lack of seat pockets and heated seats for the driver and passenger. Even the leather seats on the 10th gen accord sport looked better than those new cloth seats! Cant help but feel like Honda dropped the ball on the new accord sport when the 10th gen accord sport felt so premium for the class it was in especially since it wasn't even the highest level Accord trim. Shame :/ (Also I'm not liking that they ripped off the interior from the civic when the 10th gen had a unique style interior compared to the civic of that generation. It made the Accord feel like an upgrade where this feels like a bigger civic)
You have a keeper!
@@RaitisRides I decided to buy it after seeing your review of it lol Thanks for all that you do! Best car review channel out there!
I have a 2021 2.0T also. Biggest zonk is the tail lights. What ones did you switch to?
Cut the maintenance schedule in half and use premium gas or you will have problems. Or just sell before warranty expires just like all the ford turbo crap.
I will take 51mpg city over your 2.0T
It’s a little anodyne, but not terrible. I think it looks best in the red or blue colors. Definitely on my list as the overall package is great for a daily driver
The new Accord is probably going to be a great hybrid. The perfect daily driver 👌 You just have to ignore the front or just don't care about how it looks. You need to drive a lot to really appreciate a Hybrid. It's not for everyone.
@@lanesworld4000very well said.
I have this new 2023 Accord Hybrid touring and I love it. It is literally the perfect daily car and I prefer the new "mature boring" looks in this new Accord compared to last generation.
I have a 2021 Sport 2.0 - that is the biggest zonk that Honda does not carry over that Type R engine. Looks like I am not trading mine back for a new one.
Is this hybrid still direct injected into the crankcase?
Direct injection into the combustion chamber. If you are likely to keep it 10 years and 200,000 miles, port or dual injection is the way to go. Less carbon buildup on the intake valves. Except for Toyota and some other outliers, port injection is becoming a unicorn unfortunately.
Got me a Sport L same color like this one but with red interior :)
This is not a Sport-L….this is a sport. the Sport-L has leather seats and black rims.
Putting fog lights on this car would make it look better.
That is a very good point
I have the exact same car...same color but just the 2022
You have the better one.
