This Civic Hybrid, and the new Prius Prime, both raised the hybrid game substantially. Both are capable of 0-60 in the low to mid-6 second range, which is a hot hatch level of performance not too long ago. Even the current VW GTI is only about 0.5 seconds quicker but gets 25 mpg in the city instead of 50+ for these hybrids. I lease a base rwd Model 3. I am definitely no Tesla fanboy and do not plan to get another Tesla when my lease is over. However, to say that this Civic is an easy choice over a base Model 3 is completely disingenuous. Base Model 3 is more than a half second quicker to 60 and if you were considering price with the EV credit plus state credits, it's cheaper in most cases. Yes, you need to install a level 2 EV charger at your house but once you do, 99% of the time, you will never have range anxiety. I have taken plenty of weeklong road trips and the Tesla supercharger network means that even on trips, no issues with range unless you are in the middle of nowhere. I have also noted no issues with fit and finish on my 2023. I realize this used to be an issue but no it longer is. If this Civic was $25k then yes, no contest, but at $32-$33k, it's not a good value when you have a Model 3 in the picture unless you live somewhere that you can't install your own charger.

Hey Joe, When are you and Lori going to have your next Q & A Live session? it's been way to long!!
We are actually doing one this coming Tuesday @ 8:00PM ET
Yay!! I will be there!!
I honestly have mixed feeling with this car. Not bad but not great.
That is okay Omar!
Looks like Honda has done it yet again. It's between this and the new Accord; simply cannot lose either way.
Joe, I have the 2022 Sport touring Civic and really enjoy it. Trading it in for a 2025 Sport touring CRV. Is the half electronic dash a zonk or is it something that doesn't bother you? All other CRv's around the world have the 10 inch digital dash as does my civic and I really enjoy it
I have been thinking about buying honda civic hybrid since before they announce it but now I'm kind of hesitant due to the recalls steering lack of grease and now fuel pump.
@@khrisjared1 BTW… Civic is always among the top 5 stolen cars. This cannot be good for insurance cost. Add dealer greed and no spare and NO THANKS. ..
The Honda Civic Hybrid is a great choice if you're looking for a fuel-efficient vehicle! It combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor, which helps save on gas while reducing emissions.
I work in sales and bought this exact same car. At this price point, It checks every box for me. Is it perfect, nope. Is it very close, yes. Rear A/C is the only drawback and not getting the 9inch screen in the Hybrid sport or wireless Apple CarPlay. The top trim really just makes the most sense, If you are going hybrid. The 3k jump makes a significant difference in the Touring Hybrid. Leather seats, wireless Apple care play, 9inch screen, Bose system, power seats.
Is Bose better than JBL?
And the screen should’ve been 10.3 inches at least but yea
@ It is above average for a stock system. I like it enough to buy it the touring model. It is not worth dealing with aftermarket on these newer civics, especially with active noise canceling.
@@calebniederhofer6529 thought so, because I always add aftermarket speakers and an amp to my cars anyways thanks
@@texasboii5539 Me too buddy. I have a 4 channel JL amp and a DD audio 12 inch sub. I did not bother messing with it on the 25 Civic. Buy the touring model though. The Bose system, leather, wireless Apple car play is enough to justify 3k. I don’t like adding aftermarket amps and running them to stock head units either. It never seems to work 100% perfect in my experience. You have to use inline converters and running 4 channel wires is expensive.
@ been an infinity fan, but been thinking of trying JL speakers, don’t really care for the sub, as I’m fine with sound for now, may add a sub later down the line, either way just need LOC, and 4 channel amp and I should be good to go 👍🏼
The tunnel on the floor is because hrv uses same platform which comes with awd optional.
Are you sure about that?
@@RaitisRides I think so ,I Google it....😬
STEERING ISSUES, FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM?!?!?!?RECALLS?!?!?!
Most vehicles have recalls. Where were you?! 😂
Would you take this or a similar priced Camry?
I am going with this Civic Toby!
@@RaitisRides Joe, I am curious, why would you pick the Civic hybrid over the Camry hybrid?
@@Oregoncoast30well, it handles better, looks better (subjective), smoother, driving inputs feel better. The camry will beat it in highway efficiency and having more optional features though. Can’t go wrong with wither. They’re both the best in class
How does it drive compared to the accord?
I test drove the accord. It’s a tiny bit slower but feels almost the same. Can’t go wrong on either. Accord is better if you have passengers in the rear always
@@Opposegaming Thanks for the response!
Should I buy this or the accord? I’m undecided
Test drive both! Though the Honda Civic wins for the looks.
Depends. Me personally I think both look nice. However, the top trim accord is like 7k more expensive. I would just choose the Civic if you need a solid MPG car. The accord has the bigger screen and slightly larger with the rear vents.
Also the Accord is about a foot longer. This Civic just barely fits in my garage, if I had bought an Accord I would have had to rearrange some stuff.
Awesome look at the updated hybrid Civic.
Not the king. This is now a class of its own. What will compete with it. Not a current Corolla. Maybe the Accord. I guess a new Camry. Actually not a bad idea they cost about the same.
The tunnel is there because the platform is shared with the AWD CR-V right?
Joe you're awesome
Thanks for saying that George!
@@RaitisRides No problem.
fam you can’t be insulting the m3 when i just sold my 2015 civic and got a 2024 m3 . why are you doing this to me now
Civic is so good they made the accord irrelevant
No lumbar support?
Wondering if that tunnel is future proofing for an AWD version to come.
Hey, if the Tesla model 3 is only 8 grand more, what would you realistically go with.
Hey Joe, when you get a chance trying to get a 2025 Toyota midsize hybrid all wheel drive
No reason this should have low profile tires especially for a touring addition great idea the tire size where its more easy to get flats with the touring option who comes up with these choices?
The honeycomb for the vents makes it impossible to attach things on it 😢
Here for the 10 gallon yoohoo
I like the way that you think Hayden!
Canada gets the heated steering wheel and rear heated seats and USB ports. Sad to see no rear ventilation or panoramic sunroof like EUDM or Asian market.
Do we actually get rear USB ports? The Honda website only mentions USB ports in the front
@@nathan518 You’re right, we also lost that in Canada that means
You get those things but you also pay for them, they're not free.
Would you buy one of these or a 2025 Camry hybrid for a daily driver? both around the same price (SE trim in Camry) and same MPG. Both are quality and bulletproof cars that can last a long time.
I would buy the Civic. I like the interior more and the way that it drives!
@@RaitisRides thanks for your feedback! Making a list of possibilities when my work commuter car dies. I just dumped 1100 of work into it so hopefully a few more years (09 BMW with 163k miles). I'd rather not daily drive our new Suburban and park it in tight downtown parking garages so having a smaller commuter is nice.
I like the black trim under the headlights rather than body colored. I just think it looks little better and more contrasting!
Totally understandable Bobby!
@@bobbyjones2112 i definitely agree
Civic hybrid vs a low level Camry in the same price range?
I'm looking for one as a hatch! Would you go for boost blue or rallye red???
Boost blue looks insanely godo
heck yeah! Obviously!
That is so great to hear Jonathan that you are digging this Civic Hybrid!
@@RaitisRides I like the hatchback better because of it's rear design!
Love to see shoot out: Civic Sport hybrid vs Camry SE similar price
I am going Civic!
The only thing touring about this trim is the sweaty swamp a$$ the rear passengers get for not having rear center console ac vents 😂
Civics never came with rear ac vents
Not sure why you keep bringing up Tesla..... A Hybrid buyer is not likely going to cross shop a pure EV..... The competitors are other Hybrids
No, I’ve been thinking this or the model 3… it’s a perfect comparison
