The real reason why Tyrion wasn't allowed to own Casterly rock is that Tywin hated him because his mere existence as a dwarf is a living statement that the Lannisters are flawed (Which is funny because, if we take away appereances, Tyrion is the less flawed Lannister) and also because he killed Joanna at birth. @@anthonyju6392 i think it's less about the people are more about what the accusation could do to the house - cersei and jaime's affair getting out would illegitimise their children and remove the lannisters from the crown, and similarly if cersei is considered too old to remarry it ruins possible alliances and makes cersei more of a nuisance to their family.
On top oif that we later learn that the Lannisters are bancrupt. Other people thinking they are rich is all that is keeping them afloat, and each of Tywin's waking moments is directed at keeping up that image.
Come on.... even Theon says he comfortably cut down ten men. And then Robb refuses a duel to the death, knowing he has no chance against Jaime. That's not going down meekly.
The funny thing is all three of Tywin's kid are actually very successful. Jamie is one of the best swordsmen in westeros, but that's not enough for tywin. Cersei is the queen and house Lannister's biggest asset in the realm, but that's not enough for Tywin. Tyrion is smart as hell and the natural heir to Casterly Rock (since jamie is a kings guard and unable to inherit anything). He'll easily be able to secure his legacy... but again that's not enough for Tywin. Every viewer is always sucking up to Tywin: he is so cool, so smart, so cunning, so ruthless. He is also his family's biggest problem. The dude shows no love to his children, which in turn start doing stupid things, like trying endlessly to prove they are worthy of him. Endlessly failing. Endlessly dragging all of westeros down in the mud while trying to please daddy.
The true ending of GOT is that Tyrion turns Casterly Rock into a whorehouse just to spite his father. He even puts a scare crow he named Tywin on a chamberpot with several bolts in it.
Tyrion got Tywin's wisdom, Jaime his skill of battle and war, and Cersei his cruelty and cunning. But Tywin would have wanted one of them to have all 3 instead
If all the lannister children were wrapped in one person, tywin would have been so happy. Tyrion's intelligence, Jaime's heroism and looks, Cersei's ability to be easily married off to whomever her father pleases. Ah the perfect lion.
You mean Cersei's intelligence, Tyrion's heroism and looks and Jaime's ability to be easily married off whomever his father pleases (after he joined kingsguard)?
I showed my niece avatar last airbender a while ago. Probably something most of you know as well. Something came to my mind while watching this... imagine tywin had ozai's children!! Especially azula, the girl is a prodigy at everything, even the game of thrones! The episode where she let's zuko get all the glory for killing the avatar... that moment i thought" tywin would be so proud"😂
Tyrion was the brains Tywin wanted, Jaime was the warrior Tywin wanted. It's unironic that one has the brain not the physique and the other the physique but too kind of a heart.
Tywin was right when he said to Cersei that he wished that she knew how to manipulate (and control) Joffrey as well as Margaery does. He was also right on when he said that he doesn’t distrusts her because she’s a woman but because she’s not as smart as she thinks that she is.
Tywin was a master manipulator with everyone, but especially with his children. Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion all desperately craved their father's approval...and Tywin weaponized it. He would dispense small gestures and tokens of affection if it furthered his interests, and then would snatch them away just as quickly since he knew he could keep his family under his thumb through being cold, distant and keeping them off balance. He is a very interesting character. I think in his own way he cared for his family, although he was more motivated by maintaining the pride and dignity of his House as he saw it as well as for his own reputation, while believing none of his children were capable without his firm control.
Tywin and Tyrion’s relationship is just tragic. If these 2 great minds got along well, they could have created a dynasty that would last for generations.
Tywin is Geoffrey's double grandfather, both from his mother's and father's side. It's a miracle he came out without missing any of his fingers, toes, and limbs.
02:16 Charles Dance owns this scene. There is no question in my mind that if Tywin were still alive in Season 8 he would've demanded that Cersei marry the Night King.
Is Tywin right about his children’s flaws? Yes. Does he ever consider how much his parenting caused them? No. Did he ever consider remarrying to have more? Evidently not.
I know I'm not the only one who was disappointed in how Tywin was killed off. First off, I'm biased because Charles Dance is such a great actor that he just delivers the best of the character he portrays. But the character, Tywin, is such a good character. He's the villain, of course, but he was definitely one I respected even if he had multiple shortcomings where is children were concerned, and it was his witty comebacks to other characters and that he was pretty intelligent that made me like the character so much. That being said, though a villain, Tywin shouldn't have died taking a shit.
If Tywin had accepted Tyrion as his son. The Lannister would have ruled 7 kingdom for decades regardless of Daenerys Targaryen having 3 dragons + Unsullied + Dothraki Horde. These two together would have find a way to crush Daenerys. Also, I must say Cerise needs to die in this assumption before Daenerys comes to Westeros. Because one stupid can cause the whole team to lose.
Tywin really had it all, but his obsession with legacy and (ironically) how others perceived his family and by extension himself, was his undoing. The North went to war to free Ned Stark, the West would celebrate the death of Tywin, Ned earnt respect, Tywin demanded it because of his position and name, he was too focused on the bigger picture that he couldn't see the moves other players were making on the chess board
I feel like Tywin respects Robb Stark more than he does his children. I mean I wish they met, and I am pretty sure Tywin would have liked him. Even Tyrion told him that he would like him. Imagine if Robb was his child. He wouldn’t even care about the others because Robb is just like him. Except for the part where he is honourable.
I mean Rob had everything, a good and fair father, a loving mother. Two sisters and a friendly rivalry with his half brother and a cocky best friend. Compare that to the Lannister/Barthatheon household and it makes sense why they are so fucked up. The only ones that seem normal are Tommen and Mycella and that's because they get ignored by everyone.
if tyrion was just a dumb little dude i dont think tywin would hate him as much, ive always seen tywin more mad at the fact that a near perfect son is stuck in a dwarf body, its almost as if he started off life as wasted potential
In the end, Twyin was just like his children. Senteces his only smart and loving child with manners to death and sleeping with his lover. Tyrion was probably the only good Lannister in GOT.

Uh, Tywin said that to JAMIE.
Not the other way around.
On top oif that we later learn that the Lannisters are bancrupt. Other people thinking they are rich is all that is keeping them afloat, and each of Tywin's waking moments is directed at keeping up that image.
0:39 "Your brother would never has submitted to capture so meekly"
two days later
Meekly Jaime is submitted to capture
I *think* Jaime took out quite a few enemies before "submitting".
Come on.... even Theon says he comfortably cut down ten men.
And then Robb refuses a duel to the death, knowing he has no chance against Jaime.
That's not going down meekly.
There was nothing meek about that. When Jaime saw they were fucked, he tried to cut through Rob's guard to at least kill him before it was over
“The Lannisters send their regards” would have been a much colder line if the Lannisters didn’t fight each other all the time
The funny thing is all three of Tywin's kid are actually very successful.
The only reason the audience is sucking up to Tywin is because of Charles Dance and Charles Dance alone.
@nont18411, and it's so freaking annoying.
The true ending of GOT is that Tyrion turns Casterly Rock into a whorehouse just to spite his father. He even puts a scare crow he named Tywin on a chamberpot with several bolts in it.
I can't get that out of my head now. Funniest ending ever.
@@jessicalyons6577 Euron Greyjoy was Tywin’s ideal child.
You mean Cersei's intelligence, Tyrion's heroism and looks and Jaime's ability to be easily married off whomever his father pleases (after he joined kingsguard)?
Charles Dance as Tywin must be one of the best casting choices in history of television.
I’m sure everyone will look at me weird for saying that Tywin is like my 3rd favourite character in GoT he’s just such an amazing villain
He's an amazing character. I'm so glad he died before the writing went to shit. Imagine what they would have done to him.
@@KaiDrawsShit03Pull some shit like loving Tyrion.
Even more than me? My 3rd favorite character is Cersei 😅 1st and 2nd place go to Tywin and Tyrion.
@@sirmelanieofzundert3645ok yeah your weird look is more reasonable
Now we need a compilation of Tywin treating Arya as his daughter better than his own three children
Tyion is what Tywin wanted as a son but he was a Dwarf lol
holy shit jaime actually had a smart comeback for once when he said "as did i" talking about both him and tyrion killing their king
Tyrion was the brains Tywin wanted, Jaime was the warrior Tywin wanted. It's unironic that one has the brain not the physique and the other the physique but too kind of a heart.
... waiting for *one thing* from Cersei that he wanted.
@@TV-ge3uj The body he always wanted 🤪🤪
Both you and I know he sure well wanted to be the queen to Aerys II's king 🤪🤪
@@TV-ge3ujshe has the ambition
@@Tres_okoye Ambition without brains seems to be more of a liability than an asset.
Tywin was right when he said to Cersei that he wished that she knew how to manipulate (and control) Joffrey as well as Margaery does. He was also right on when he said that he doesn’t distrusts her because she’s a woman but because she’s not as smart as she thinks that she is.
Id distrust her for both. Ceirsei is the best antifeminist argument Ive ever seen on TV.
Literally how? She's the perfect example of how forcing women into subservient positions to men creates unstable people. @@nikosgreek352
"Lannisters don't act like fools"
Well the Boratheons certainly do
Please don't tell Stannis.
TBH from a perspective of keeping the power and the Lannister’s ruling he was completely right to have such distain for his children.
Tywin and Tyrion’s relationship is just tragic. If these 2 great minds got along well, they could have created a dynasty that would last for generations.
Tyrion : Why???
Tywin : I am about to finish this man's career.
Tywin is Geoffrey's double grandfather, both from his mother's and father's side. It's a miracle he came out without missing any of his fingers, toes, and limbs.
1:52 Love that. But every Tywin scene is pure gold.
The title should just be: Tywin being disappointed at Tyrion and the other occasionally!
Tywin “Chad” Lannister forever!
02:16 Charles Dance owns this scene. There is no question in my mind that if Tywin were still alive in Season 8 he would've demanded that Cersei marry the Night King.
HIW DID THE OTHER GUY ETE TWICH !
AS DID I
@eyeball.gay IKR
YOU WILL MARRY THE KING IN THE NORTH
“A Lannister always pays his debts.”
Tyrion kills Tywin.
I love how Tyrion just spits when Tywin is talking too him. LOLOL!
Is Tywin right about his children’s flaws? Yes. Does he ever consider how much his parenting caused them? No. Did he ever consider remarrying to have more? Evidently not.
I never realized.. so Tyrion got 2/2 on the parricide hahaha nice hahaha
I love love love charles dance
Vary's reaction at 02:50 is a masterclass in itself
Poor man. He has so many troubled offspring.
It was kinda funny that if he gave Casterly Rock to Tyrion, he wouldn't die so early hahaha
Wish there was a scene between Robert and Tywin
tywin is a man of ambition for family name and himself ... his childrens rejected
so basically jamie was a slightly less of a disappointment, tyrion was only disappointing in height and cersei is just disappointing overall
Pretty much 😂😂😂
Charles Dance is an absolute legend.
3:28 Tyrion: So you admit my birth was beneficial to the family?
I always loved this man
How the hell did Charles Dance not win anything for his portrayal of Tywin Lannister??
I know I'm not the only one who was disappointed in how Tywin was killed off. First off, I'm biased because Charles Dance is such a great actor that he just delivers the best of the character he portrays. But the character, Tywin, is such a good character. He's the villain, of course, but he was definitely one I respected even if he had multiple shortcomings where is children were concerned, and it was his witty comebacks to other characters and that he was pretty intelligent that made me like the character so much. That being said, though a villain, Tywin shouldn't have died taking a shit.
Sometimes I think this talking talent of Tyrion , he has got that from his father 😂
Tywin was one of the best characters in the whole show.
If HotD has taught me anything, its that Lannisters will always have beef with children 😂
2:51 my favorite. 😂
“ I am the KING 💦 “
@@Dark_AbsoI “The king is tired.” 😏

Yo why is Tywin so funny tho? 😂
Imagine if cercei was born a man and Tyrion being tall
Tyrion payed the final debt
Tywin = if you all have played according to my plan , we might have won game of thrones 😒😒😒😒😒
Tywin practically never asks anyone to do anything. He says that they WILL do this thing. It’s going to happen whether you like it or not.
"Lannisters, det ekt like fools." - Tywin Lannister
"Lannisters don't act like fools" always amused me because Tywin was the only one in the Lannister history that wasn't a fool.
He's like my grandpa fr. Funny enough that Tywin tolerates Arya more or less, and maybe Tolmen.
the "touche" got me rolling in the floor lmao
It’s funny how he liked aya more than his own kids
His not afraid to get his hands dirty
I loved Tywin He was The Best Lannister well far from everyone else.. of that family
jamie really said i could care LESS
isnt the statement i couldnt care less
03:30 my favorite line bc it sums up my life perfectly
I audibly said "ohhhh" out loud. I forgot he said that. What an amazing actor
So basically every scene lol
Tywin everytime : I’m surrounded by fools 🤦
It's couldn't care less. Not could care less. If you could care less, that means you care some.
@@thepowerofsand6180 good point, didn’t think of that.

At some point tywin wanted to adopt arya
I doubt Tywin would like his kids even if they were 10% more decent than they originally were
i love tywin
I was sad when he died.
Ik but the man had it coming
the show really decreased in quality after he left so makes sense
I’d be scared to disappoint him. I’d do anyone he told me to 😂
if tyrion was just a dumb little dude i dont think tywin would hate him as much,
ive always seen tywin more mad at the fact that a near perfect son is stuck in a dwarf body, its almost as if he started off life as wasted potential
i hate lannisters but i think tywin is the best character in the show
In the end, Twyin was just like his children. Senteces his only smart and loving child with manners to death and sleeping with his lover. Tyrion was probably the only good Lannister in GOT.
0:42 ironic
I relate soo much with his kids, he is very similar to my own father...
And Tywin to arya : Oh! My Little Dove! 😃
Tywin and Logan Roy are competing for the worst TV father ever
Tywin only loves himself
Not his children
Game of Throne's Best Father Figure to Cersei, Tyrion, and Jamie. All seriousness despite being a master general and great strategist Tywin completely failed his children specially his hatred towards Tyrion for being a dwarf even through Tyrion proved to the Lannister Family he has some worth and smart knowledge of the world even towards the battles. However Tywin's hatred of Tyrion is what led to his downfall near the end of Season 4.
Arya was his favourite kid
Ah demanding fathers. Love my dad but hes got insanely high expectations.
Just like tywin.
