  • The CRAFTSMAN V20 BRUSHLESS R™ Cordless Reciprocating Saw is a smaller full-sized reciprocating saw that has two speeds. The specifications on this recipe saw are very impressive. On Low, it has 0-2300 SPM and on High, it has 0-3200 SPM with a 1-1/8" stroke. The variable-speed trigger is butter smooth and very controllable through the cut. The VST is so good it makes me wonder why it is a two-speed model.
    The tool-free blade release is a two-wing design and works well. It can get warm like any other model that has the blade change on the arm. The rubber over-molded handle is very comfortable and almost everywhere needed.
    If there is anything we can complain about, it is some vibration felt through cutting. Overall, this is a great smaller recipe saw that many will enjoy.
    As we show in the video, the right blade for the wood you are cutting can make all the difference.

    I have it. My work is Demo. It has vibration but it eliminates anything fast. I am Craftsman fan. It has something magic.

    I watched the Ryobi HP recip saw review you did a year before this one and you smoked it in some real-ish world work. This was a cake walk test and surprisingly a gushing review. You were demoing double thick countertops with repeated full length cuts and doing hard blade bend cuts with the Ryobi and the Craftsman gets a sappy 2x6??

    I have anti vibration gloves by dewalt which helps when using this for a lot of cutting

    it appears to be a rebranded dewalt. not a problem, in fact I own a few of the assembled in USA dewalt craftsman v20 tools. I am curious to see how this RP line will hold up over time compared to the "old" brushless line. looks like Lowes in our area (midwest) is phasing it out. We had an end aisle display of all RP set up recently.

      RP tools are just rebadged brushless Craftsman.

    • @ump5754
      @ump5754 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@6atlantismostly true, but the first Brushless drill and drivers are superior to the new RP. Impact driver(cmcf820) is more powerful than the new RP brushless - cmcf813. Cmcf820 also equals or beats DeWalt 887 impact(many suspect they're the same). Same with brushless hammer drills: cmcd721>RP cmcd713.
      Anyone looking at buying into the craftsman lineup I recommend get those older but superior, brushless models!

    Your right with those non carbide thin curfew blades they cut faster and with less vibration but they don't last as long

      Right now, a $119 for a 4ah battery, gets this sawzall free

    This one is stronger than the CMCS 300B? Its about $50 more expensive. Any other big difference?

    it better do better than the last model because I smoked 2 of these in 30 mins trying to cut 12” rail road ties and I was on my first one

    I own both the previous brushless and the rp brushless for this saw. I tested the spm on both with multiple batteries and I found that the spm with this rp model was 3576 with a 9ah battery. Also you should have tested this saw against the Milwaukee. I bet it will beat it with the same size batteries.

    • @loucifer4205
      @loucifer4205 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely will beat the regular Milwaukee and super sawsaw but not the super in orbital I know it beats the dewalt power detect

      The previous brushless model and this RP model are identical, RP tools I just rebadged brushless craftsman.

      It appears that some of them got very minor spec bumps, but nothing significant. Still 99% the same tools.

    I'm pretty sure this is the DeWalt DCS382 wearing red clothes, or rather the DeWalt is this wearing yellow, since the Craftsman was out first. But this Craftsman actually looks a bit smaller than the DeWalt. I'd love to see those two side by side. If only Lowe's would quit zip-tying the tools down....

      I like the craftsman better because it has two speeds and a one finger trigger don't like the feel of two finger triggers on recip or jigsaws just don't feel comfortable

    That recip saw looks like my DeWalt. It's no wonder since DeWalt makes it. Should be a decent saw.

      The dewalt doesn't have two speeds and has a two finger trigger this has a single finger trigger

    I think the RP stands for repurpose dewalt🤔🧐

    I have the non-RP craftsman sawzall and it shakes a ton and is pretty anemic. I wish I had held off and bought this instead.

      This one is well worth it. I got mine after catching some drugged out pos trying to steal the cat off my neighbors car, he dropped the saw when I started hitting him with my pry bar. Neighbor said I could have it, and since he rly didn't want to report it when the cops got there they didn't take it. The attachment insert broke after a while but they stuck to their warranty and replaced it with a new one

      I got a working demo brushed one from lowes for $15, sadly, it wouldn't run with resistance. Oh well

    SBD recips get it done, but the lack of features and the tooth-chattering vibration make me reach for recips by other brands first.

    I don't know why Stanley Black & Decker won't put an orbital mode, adjustable shoe, and rafter hook on any of their reciprocating saws to compete with the super sawzall. Dewalt has proven that they can out do Milwaukee in everything but they are content letting Milwaukee have the recip saw market.

    AM I the only one that think all these rolling storage units are dumb?? You first have to stack and unstack them to get to your tools. Quite a lot of efforts to lift and unlift the HEAVY packed chests.
    WHY NOT just invent a rolling metal or plastic cabinets/storage units with drawers. I will never buy the FLEX or any other mfg's cuz it's DUMB!!!

    • @Yeroc357
      @Yeroc357 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      if you're using those storage systems as stationary storage you're doing it wrong.
