I tried FOUR Bauer 20v Recip Saws - Only ONE was any good - Harbor Freight Power Tool Review

- In this video I torture test the Bauer 20v Reciprocating Saw (1775C-B) from Harbor Freight, on my Chevy Silverusto. I went through 3 of them (trying different blades), before trading up for the Brushless version (2075CR-B). The difference is VERY noticeable. I actually am okay with the Brushless Bauer 20v Reciprocating Saw. The brushed version? Not so much...they should take the "Heavy Duty Guaranteed" off of that box.

I had a Brushed Craftsmen model that came is a set of tools. It let the smoke out really quickly too. I ended up replacing it with their Brushless model & it does seem to be a more durable unit as well. What's Crazy is I remember growing up back in the 80's and 90's My Father had a corded Milwaukee recip saw that he would run all day long! with no issues. That thing lasted for years!
This is the 2nd video of yours I’m watching. I’m hooked. Liked and subscribed! 😂
@@mikeeygq thank you
Its not the metal that your cutting through that's the problem. The Bauer tools aren't rated for green gm paint. Try a different color car😂
😂 I think your right! Rust cuts through this paint better than those Bauer saws!
Bauer is lite duty tools, they do lie on the box. I had a Ryobi and my neighbor let me use his DeWalt,Wow what a difference.the Ryobi shook my fillings loose, lol!
Is it still working I'm thinking about getting one cut rusted bolts off
@@billluzius3778 yes, the brushless one is still working
Geez I don’t know, is really the type of job these saws are designed for? Isn’t it more for cutting 2x4’s during stick frame construction projects and the like?
Maybe you can use it to cut butter.
My wife is needing new cutlery for the kitchen. 🤔
I have the brushless and ive been pretty happy with it. Blade definitely makes a difference. And having the metal flop around like that would be hard on anything. But the brushed version is not meant for heavy work. At least not on metal.
Agreed. The phrase “Heavy Duty Guaranteed” needs to come off the brushed version’s box.
I will defend the tool a little bit and I do mean a little bit but the way you’re cutting that even a high-quality saw would have some issues if it were a little more stable, it would cut a lot better
Agreed
I agree not the best tool for the job and a grinder with a cutoff wheel would be better but I guess it does she just how much abuse it will take
I have both the brushed and the brushless saws that you bought as well as the brushless one-handed Bauer 20v recip saw and they all work pretty darn good for me but I never tried to cut a roof completely in half like you but this video that you made really sells the point of having a brushless tool more than a non brushless actually compared to any other videos out there because I've wondered sometimes in the past if buying a brushless tool was really worth it or necessary but now after watching this I can see that it is worth it and necessary for sure so thanks for that but I've bought 5 different brands of blades for my reciprocating saws and I think that Diablo ones were the absolute best with Milwaukee pretty close and third would probably be the Hercules blades with the fourth best ones being the Bauer blades and the absolute worst ones are the Warrior brand blades and they're OK if you're not cutting anything that thick or tough but those blades are quite a bit thinner and they tend to bend much easier than better quality blades but for the price they're ok and they can still cut most things unless you're really cutting something really thick or tough and then I would really go with the Diablo or Milwaukee blades for the most part for sure.
Love the sickness not the recip saw but the gentleman cutting his pick up love it
I mean, if you’re using a better brand like dewalt or Milwaukee it’s good have it to take the battery out before you’re changing the blade 2:56
I think that Jeff Foxworthy could get some new material from this video!😂 "If you enjoy cutting the roof off your Silverrusto, you might be...". Great video!
I had one of these. I burnt it out cutting up an old deck. It let the smoke out. Wasnt pushing ot too hard either. Went with the one handed version after, no issues so far.
How they get away with Heavy Duty Guaranteed on the box for the brushed version is beyond me.
Well, you get what you pay for? If you take that label off it says Playdoh underneath. 😅
Made by Fisher-Price 😆
If had better quality blade would make a world of difference. Don't care what saw your using
Motor still wouldve smoked out
You probably should do a video on what Harbor freight tools to get the extended warranty on.
I can't tell you how many budget saw-zalls I have ripped the gears out of 😂
Heavy Dooty indeed. 😂 Although, with a brushless motor and a quality blade, you’ve got a decent tool, for a DIY Dude.
Shit, I just cut several layers of boards out of a damn, to replace with new boards, water coming over pouring halfway up.the tool, cutting thru old nails and all, kept that things working for hours, sprayed it out with hilco lube afterwards, no issues.
I thinking getting Bauer drill and battery saw sandwr
That thing smokes more than Aunt Lucille on bingo night…
People and tools ought not to smoke 😆
They make a good butter cutter. Just saying
If going do heavy cutting then need better brand DeWalt Milwaukee maybe Ryobi
I like Bauer tools but not for that kind of work, you need a DeWalt for that job, Lol!
You should of just got the Hercules battery Sauzal instead
This should be a video on how not to use a reciprocating saw.. might want to let the saw and the blade do the work.. might not just power fist her in the old bunghole then complain because she didn't like it.. home gamer tools bad setup and bad application..
Thought maybe cheech and chong were in that reciprocating saw. ✌🏻
Harbor freight blades are junk
you just need a grinder easy
ziptie the trigger and see how long itll last
Why
