My guy, you ain’t lying! I’ve never built a bike, (I would love to) but builders like lane are who inspired me to metal fab, and build custom cars. It’s been around seven years since my last build considering that life got in the way, but after stumbling across a 67 mercury Monterey two door I think it’s time to start getting back into the hobby.. I didn’t know I how much I missed it, until I laid eyes on this beauty in the backyard of a house I was working on and didn’t even think the lady would say yes when I offered to buy it, but fortunately she did, and it will be named after her. “Debb”

As an 19 year old I landed my first real job at Bethlehem steel company. After awhile of being brutalized into the trades I was assigned light duty work maintaining a stress relief machine way out in the giant machine shop where they machine ship propeller shafts. Using induction coils they would heat the screw end and relieve the stress and arc weld and fill the grooves . They would gantry the shafts to a huge lathe and turn the shaft down to smooth and re machine for prop placement. I loved to watch the blue coils peel off onto the floor as I smoked a joint. I love to watch you work the impossible as well. By the way, I’m 64 now.

Wow! I had no idea if that was even repairable, but the way you did it was amazing. I'm not a machinist; just very interested in how it's done; I watch a lot of machine work videos where you can always learn something.

Amazing work. Currently rebuilding my 99 Dyna after a close encounter with an 18-wheeler. Inspiring to watch a legend like Billy Lane take what is usually scrap and resurrect the legendary Harley-Davidson Knucklehead.
