And he's right. It's a great shooter, if you're GOOD. The problem with modern hitscanning enemies is that they peek around corners from 50 meters away with high accurate assault rifles with camouflage and a small hit box. Meanwhile cultists are colorful big juicy hitboxes in open environments who can't hit for shit beyond a stroll to the kitchen. Plus you can actually GET to them and survive by shooting them once. In modern games if you try to move an inch closer you get decorated with bullets that still have the casing on it. Old games let you have a chance close up if you remember that you're not locked to a fat man's speed and stamina but rather you're a bouncing athletic race car with homing auto targeting bullets. Have he ever seen a speedrun? They move so fast the enemy can't even scream before they're gone at the exit.

One tip for dealing with hitscanners: CROUCH. It's way harder for them to hit you, their accuracy goes down the gutter. Was this tip helpful? You can thank Civvie 11.
Why would that help? Wouldn’t they have to be deliberately programmed to be less accurate for that to work? As far as I know, hitscan weapons are popular because the math is so simple. It’s just “is there a viable path from muzzle to hitbox” attenuated by a hardcoded miss chance. I don’t think hitscan weapons necessarily take size of hitbox into account when computing miss chance.
I'm sorry you had to go to E3 Yahtzee. :c But I'm glad you're back and were able to do a game review that wasn't plastered with modern hype. Thanks for doing all you do! Hang in there!

I swear, the scripts of these videos are poetry.
Contrary to what Yahtzee says, Blood’s later episodes are great, and feature some of my favorite levels. E2M4, The Overlooked Hotel, is phenomenal from a design perspective.
I have been to LA and I dont think you give it enough credit. Its like the 7-11 bathroom multiplied to a city level. An LA 7-11 so its more hypodermic needles and feces than actual bathroom.
if you like FPS genre for shooting mechanics, it's gonna be your new corner stone
Yes Yahtz, you're fully back!!!
Free Civvie!
@@greenredblue Blood did. It is basically "if hitscan target is crouching, hitchance/2".
Guy Boo dude try it in blood it works
Dinner-fork tongue free civve!!!
I'm sorry you had to go to E3 Yahtzee. :c But I'm glad you're back and were able to do a game review that wasn't plastered with modern hype. Thanks for doing all you do! Hang in there!
The random rants are always the best ones.
Just picked this up and I love this so far. Seriously this needs to be on modern consoles
I would like it to be noted that we did not force you to visit E3. We did however greatly enjoyed your video coverage of it. And we would like to demand of the Escapist to send you again in 2020. For we enjoy watching your pain and suffering, like our favorite video game antagonist!
"Transfusion" is the name of another fan made blood based project. Naming it this would have caught the studio a lot of flak for trying to confuse the two.
The thing I remember most about blood is the cultist's death scream, and the phantazims... the goddamn phantazims......

Strangers in the night...exchanging glances...
I can not listen to Sinatra without thinking of this game
little know fact: in russian chernobog means dark god.
I actually miss the Blood games. Good one liners with plenty of horror movie easter eggs.
thumbs up for the Chauvet par can image at the end
This is the best plot synopsis I've ever heard!!
Get your Blood while it's Fresh 😁👌
your description of LA is amazingly accurate.
2:27 that’s the Eddison Mansion from Maniac Mansion. Neat.
Speaking of Build, did you ever play Ion Maiden? That one's been winking temptingly at me for the past year.
Also, the hardest difficulty in this game was made for Co-Op in mind.
Pro Blood When, Civvie?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
already out

2, I know. It's a meme
I still remember the chocking hands. To get them off of me I'd throw a Molotov at my feet in hopes that my flame engulfed body would burn the little bastards off and with luck the fire would leave me with some health left. Didn't know you could hit the 'E' key to remove them till GOG released it a few years back.
