Living in West Central Scotland, this song is absolutely spot on and piss funny. It's a pity guys like Kenneth McKellar, who combine the traditional Scottish songs with silly ditties like this, are of a bygone era.
The Corries performed quite a few funny songs. The Portree Kid was a funny spoof of a Hollywood Western about a poker game to the tune of Riders in the Sky I think. And there's The Sunday Driver. Other talented artistes are Alister McDonald and Matt McGinn who performed and recorded many funny songs for kids and adults.

Don't know much about midges here in Seattle; but this is such a fun and clever song (one of his own compositions, I believe?); and he seems to have had a good time singing it for this video! Was this part of a TV show sometime back? Also, the CGI midges were a nice touch besides...;)
Spooky, I’ve just met a group of walkers from Seattle in the Scottish Borders today. Just chanced upon this song just now, what a gem, hilarious. Come to Scotland sometime, say Loch Lomond area in mid June, that was the worst I’ve ever seen.
