- WOW. This trailer was all I could have hoped for and more. Showed us enough new things... but still didn't give anything away, really. Gosh I love me some Rey and Kylo.. And are they going to kill off Leia? C-3PO? What is going on with that... Gosh, this looks amazing. HYPED! What did you think?

I absolutely loved the trailer. Daisy Ridley is in fantastic shape, and she's going to kill it as Rey once again. Lando, Rose, C-3PO, Finn, Emperor Palpatine, Luke, Leia...so many of my favorite characters are back for this final entry in the saga. While not a huge prequel guy, I'll forever adore everything from A New Hope all the way to The Last Jedi. Original and sequel trilogies are so damn good. It's hard to top Return Of The Jedi and Empire Strikes Back, but this is a worthy contender.

@@binder38us I understand it perfectly. As a kid in communist Romania in the '80s, that's why is so easy for me to recognize the leftist disease of the forced narrative. It's simple, I don't like the sequels so stop demonizing me for not being part of the NPC robo-gang. The premise was so amazing: the greatest animation company having the greatest franchise but somehow...they f. up!
Here's the life lesson, it comes from the economy: Ponzi, Socialism, Capitalism have the same thing in common: they are all...Ponzi schemes. Any commerce/trade is a Ponzi scheme because the seller and the buyer perceive the exchange of goods/services as a personal victory, as a plus. And "Plus + Plus" = inflation. But unlike the Ponzi and Socialism (who are "guaranteed victories"), Capitalism allows individual failure, thus having a working balance for a long period of time, the crisis being the restart button. Unlike Ponzi and Socialism that are a continuous crisis. This is the secret.
In Culture Wars is the same: if something is a failure, stop trying to sugarcoat it as a success! It is the only way towards maturity. A child that doesn't want to grow up and still awaits some form of guarantee success (from the state, this time, not the parents) is never gonna be able to teach other children the skills towards adulthood.
So yes, ep.7 and 8 are failures. And I'm not a 40-years-old-white-man-monster because I recognize this. I am not you. Get over it, admit what it is, enough with the excuses, and next time...do better! The real diversity is of opinions, not token superficial skin color or sex.
Sadly there are so many people who became so joyless and cynical and seem to feel good with it, that they completely forgot how to have some simple fun... Don't know what happened to them o_O
Ummm...you have over thought this... THESE ARE FANTASY MOVIES. I don't understand the crazed hatred people like you have for these movies. I saw the originals as a kid and never connected any social significance other than being fun movies. I see no political stances in the new movies. You, I am not sure what set you off, but just relax and enjoy the story. Do not like the movie, cool. But this diatribe I just read, literally , is over thinking, and hints of justifying racism. I recommend turning off Fox News and taking a walk. Play a silly matching game. Watch an anime. Anything to relax.
@@binder38us I don't "hate" these movies, you're the one using the word "hate". Rogue One is the best Disney's Star Wars, and Solo is "meh" but ep7&8 are nonsense. And yes, you're right about the fun, Star Wars brought back "fun" in movies at the end of the '70s (after all that nihilistic period). But these Disney days, Star Wars isn't fun anymore. The Expanse - for example - now that's "fun" Sci-Fi series. A little while back...Star Gate (SG-1), now that was capital Fun!..just to name a few... And lol - no political stances in the sequels? yeah, sure..

All these characters, all the wonderful looking set pieces, the excitement of seeing new star wars action, and just a load of nostalgia. And also, saying "take away the music and writing" is stupid, those are both major parts of the trailer and movie?? why would you take those away?
@@nyuppo you just made it clear that any trailer will do for you. The music and writing could appeal to the nostalgia in all of us. The trailer was bland at best. I'm not hating, just being objective. This is trailer 101. A fan made trailer could elicit the same response but this is EPISODE 9
@@jamesgatz4490 Yeah, and it made for a trailer that made me damn excited for the movie which is exactly what it should do. I've seen a lot of trailers that either fail in that aspect or give away the movie, and if a tried and true formula works to get fans excited then it did its job well. I dont want to say youre wrong because I know not every trailer will please everyone, but dont be an asshat because other people are enjoying something

I've seen the trailer a dozen times and when everytime Carrie says "Always", I still choke up. Mama, your smile at the end of the trailer is so beautiful.
**This is just a theory, but don't read if you think theories are spoilers**
So, I heard someone float a theory - really just in passing - about a year ago about C-3PO. They surmised that it would be an interesting twist if he had been carrying a secret all this time, having actually been built by Anakin. If you noticed in the last trailer, there's a shot of him from the same scene as this one, but he has red eyes. My thought is that the little creature working on the back of C-3PO's head is accessing data implanted either by Anakin, or even maybe then Empire during one of the many times he's been in their presence. Given the way he says "goodbye" in this trailer, I bet accessing the info will disable him permanently.

I think I was at your level of excitement when I saw the "but I do" scene and cried at the carrie scene, I'm still having reactions after the 40th time watching. I cant get over it. And now the wait for the movie begins.

I went to the 1st Star Wars film when I was 5 with my parents in 1978. Have seen all of them at the theater. I've taking my daughter to a couple of them and now with the last one I will be taking my 5yr old grandson which will make him the 4th generation in my family to go to a Star Wars film. I will be sad to see it all end.
Then again I had my worries and fears for Avengers Endgame and yeah that movie was beautiful.....

I was like wow amazing I’m a huge Star Wars Fan and I can’t wait for this I’m feel emotional.
It has been a long journey which some of us started when we walked into the movie theatre back in 1977.....we thought it would be just another movie...….little did we know!

The more I think about it, I really hope the final words the fans hear are of Luke and Leia just like in the trailer. I believe it would be fitting to honor Carrie Fisher's memory and have her "Always" be the final word we as fans hear in the saga.

Threepio started the waterworks for me, and overall I have great faith that JJ is going to give the saga a satisfying and meaningful conclusion. I’ve been a die-hard fan since 1977 when I was 13 and saw A New Hope in the theater for the first time. Yeah, I’m an old fart, and all the haters can just kiss my hiney.
I finally got to see the trailer this morning before work. I had to come and see your reaction the second time I watched it.

What is the nature of the relationship with Kylo and Rey? I have not forgotten the Luke and Leia bombshell!
Why does Kylo, the only known child of Skywalker blood, get to rise?
What did Luke do in the time after the training center was destroyed to when he got to Ahch-to?
We know Anakin was redeemed from his appearance at the end of Ep 6. (I do not want to talk about the special edition!)
Why no appearance since then?
I think Rey and Kylo are cousins. Luke had a daughter.
This is the long arc of a tale of good vs evil. Both sides have seen everything to come and this is the nexus point where either both sides thought they would come out victorious or maybe neither could see beyond this point.
Skywalker blood fighting on both sides, with the most potential of all those who have used the Force.
Even Luke and Leia could only feel things about each other. They never shared a vision like communication like Rey and Kylo.
They finally join together after an epic battle between them and they discover who they are (I imagine Luke, Anakin and Leia appearing to the both of them) to fight for the Light side of the Force.
I do not think the two of them will be having all the babies together, but I do see a line of Skywalker's becoming the new line of Jedi's.
C3PO has an sith language in his memory but his memory needs to wiped so he can translate it meaning he will forget everything and everyone. Kylo dies.

Here is the thing. When Star Wars first come out, I was 28, my only child, my son was just born. I have no "CHILDHOOD MEMORIES" of Star Wars. Also, Star Wars wasn't big with the movie critics, the called it a Cowboy movie. Not until it was doing well at the box-office did they talk better about it. As for the Force, nobody know anything about it, it was just dropped on us in the movie. There was no internet to use to read up on it in face there most likely wouldn't be anything for years. It didn't become a big thing until years later. So I get a kick out of it when people talk as if it was old stuff when it first came out, George Lucas just put the Force in it in there as a lurk and it stuck. As for Rey's parents, I could care less. I go by what a person does, not by who their parents are.
