Hey rider ! You are right about the feel of riding a Ducati . I remember the day I rode my new 1984 Suzuki 750 home , and said to myself "what a nice bike " . I remember riding my new 1991 Ducati 900 ss and saying to myself "what an awesome machine " ! There is the difference . put 196.000 miles on that 900 , traded in for 2001 Ducati St 2 loved that bike 206.000 miles on it , just got a 2011 multistrada 1200 with 40.000 miles . this may be my last motorcycle, it is fantastic to ride . one more thing , damn it's weird to see you ride on the wrong side of the road !!😄😄😄 merry Christmas
Yo dude...your vid review is one of the reasons I'm now riding a 2017 Multistrada. I've ridden motorcycles for over 40 years, but over the last 10 I was glued to H-D's and each new one got bigger and bigger, and I found I was riding less and less each year. Each one pulled me farther and farther away from my spirited dirt-bike riding/motocross roots. Last year I told my wife I was done with riding Harleys...for sooo many reasons. She was not happy, but understood. Earlier this year I went to a local bike shop to look at a BMW I saw online...and in person I was underwhelmed. Then, literally, I turned around and saw a 2017 Multistrada with only 5,000 miles on it staring me in the face, and I was floored by the looks/style of the bike. At that point I was pretty convinced that was going to be my next bike. I had to wait a few months for the weather to let me take it out for a test ride...and when I did, I was hooked: The power, the handling, the styling...THIS was the bike I've wanted for decades, but didn't know it. I'm now putting roughly a 1,000 miles a month on my Duc, and loving every minute. So thanks from the U.S. MissendenFlyer!
Cannot argue with any of the opinions in this video at all. My good friend has the bigger version of that bike... it's a beast... a very good looking beast.
Scott Peterson just got a used 2011 1200 s touring , you are dead on the nuts about it being a beast ! Been creeping up on hard acceleration in lower gears . I thought my St 2 was fast . WRONG !😄 merry Christmas
I recently acquired a 2014 Multistrada Pikes Peak 1200 with only 700 miles on it. Great machine but more bike than I am capable of riding to its potential. A 950 Multistrada will be my next bike. Great review, thanks.
BMW GS looks utilitarian. KTM Adventure looks like it wants to kill you. Ducati Multistrada looks like the Red Bird in the Angry Birds video game...cartoon styling.
I'm sitting here with my black TMF hoodie on with red trim, watching your fantastic review of this awesome bike, and loving every single minute!! You have, bar none, the best bike reviews on the internet..... Cheers from Canada
Totally agree with your first point. I took a Pikes Peak 1200 Multistrada with a full exhaust system for a test ride and had to fill it up pretty much straight away, and the feeling of being seen getting back on that was something I've just never felt before. Like you're just the king of the road while you're on it ;) didn't buy it though as I just didn't trust it to last long enough with me, I have to keep my bikes outside and by the sea sometimes, and leave them for months at a time. That's why I went with my trusty 1200 Tiger instead (with maintenance free shaft drive) - But the Multistrada 1200 is still my dream bike!
Exceedingly glad you chose not to tarnish a princess Scott. Many Ducati in Sydney suffer that fate "neglect'. As though the owner is saying I can afford to trash this baby. Reeks of snobbery but its such a crying shame.
Hey rider ! Didn't realize a multistrada 1200 was a dream bike for me , but after 205.000 miles on my 2001 St 2 I was looking for something that was more roomy. The wonderful 196.000 miles I put on my 1991 900 ss pretty much had me looking for another Ducati . found a 2011 white 1200 multistrada with over 2 grand of add ons , service records. I believe the 40.000 miles affected the price . Got it for 6 grand ! Love it! Just turned 65 , this may be my last bike! And that is fine with me 😄merry Christmas
Another entertaining review. The baby Multistrada tugged at my heartstrings - looks to die for, but my brain (or perhaps my posterior) won the day: I confess to having ordered the new Tiger 800 XCA; heated grips and seats, full LED lighting (we are in the throws of winter here in Switzerland), and an equally fantastic engine. I just hope I have made the right decision.....
If you like the 950 then you’d lurrve the 1260S, it’s everything the 950 is but dialled up to 200%. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned or ridden. And totally agree with your commentary, there is something special about owning a Ducati, I love it in a way I’ve not loved any other bike, even people who know nothing about bikes appreciate it, and it makes you feel special to be riding one.
Once again, another great video tmf. have a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year. I would have to agree with you on all of your points. The suspension is in my mind another great bonus on this bike (that is for soaking up the bumps). On mine I have an inch spacer at the bottom of the screen which allows some more air in at the bottom and have no notion of changing the screen. A great all around bike. Fuel economy is also very good. I am getting sometimes over 64mpg and for a Ducati the Pirelli Scorpions are good wearing tyres
My wife's had her Diavel since 2011, it now has 20k miles on and (touching hairy wood) nothing! nothing gone wrong so far. I have a Desert Sled and she also has a Scrambler Classic, so far no problems although it's early in their life yet.
Don't think I've ever seen a review where the multistrada is referred to as beautiful! Suppose it's as they say, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder lol The PM's got a cracking pad wow.
Happy xmas and a prosperous and safe new year ..... Thanks for all the interesting info ....One of my pals aged 86 has just bought a 1900cc Indian Chief bike ....
Great looking bike indeed! Still torn between this and the Africa twin, went for a play on the Honda a couple of days ago, LOVE IT!! Still need to play on this before I make final decision on which to buy, but the DCT was lovely and going to be hard to beat, even by this Italian beauty! Keep 'em coming TMF...and have a very happy Xmas:-)
It looks a very confident inspiring machine, you were throwing it around like a pro, have a great christmas, but i will still expect a video Monday hahahahahaha
No doubt Ducati can make a great handling bike. Interestingly on the new 1260 they have lengthened the swing arm and increased the wheelbase for more 'stability' meaning some of that sharp handling may be dulled?? Hopefully you can get a ride on one and see how it compares. Cheers and happy Christmas.
Everything else being equal Ducatis do start with the advantage of simply being a Ducati. And this sort of 'adventure' bike is close to the ideal all-purpose bike even if you never get further offroad than a gravel path.
Very helpful as ever, thanks TMF. Merry Christmas to you and yours. do you plan on adding a 'worst 5' features too? I had heard they were a bit top heavy - does it strike you that way?
Thanks for another great and informative video, as always! This bike is definitely towards the top of my list. I was wondering if you would consider doing a similar video on your top five dislikes? Sounds like it may be tough though so I would settle for a top three if you can't get all the way to five ;)
Thanks again TMF. You put the whole Ducati quality/ price/ snobbery debate in perspective. I went in March to try the Ducati Scrambler and the guy showed me this and detailed the extra value for a bit more readies. I fell for it. The Ducati Multistrada 950 is my bike of choice and you detailed exactly why. I just have to find the 'Extra Readies'. Are you able to to do some off road coverage? I'd love to see how it goes, but then you don't take the GS off the tar do you?
Love your onboard vids TMF. Am I weird prefering the looks of the Super 10? The riders view of the Multi is like the Tiger Sport, looks like a weely bin with bars! Gotta love the little badge details and the like though and always a soft spot for Ducatis.
Well to me from the riders view it looks like a wheely bin with an I pad and some handlebars. When you get off it, the front looks like someone set fire to said wheely bin. It's screams sucker with more money than sense, who went all gooey about a badge. It's no different to a 10 year old bike that costs a fraction of the price and is probably just as reliable. Sucker that needs a dealer to do simple maintenance tasks, sensors to tell him his tyres are soft and brakes that don't lock mid corner, cos he's hasn't a clue what he's doing.
What a sweet bike just a wee bit oouta my price range..you have a new fan!! My wife Cindy started watching your videos and loves your every thing!!! Lol how do I send you a pic of our new versys1000? Thank you
I would have to agree with you on the Multistrada 950, a beautiful looking bike. I have yet to come across a bad review on this bike, i have sat on one but never ridden one, something I intend to do something about soon. How do you find the screen on it? Enjoyable review as always. To you and all your followers MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Reliabilty and functionality comes before design in my priority list. If something Looks very good there's always a little voice in my head that says: yeah, but what if..... But all seems ok whit this Ducati 😋
I think it's one of the better balanced street bikes out there for the road. Power to weight is about perfect to have a blast without needing a NASA computer to keep its tires on the road. Duc chromoly steel trellis frames instill confidence in hard cornering (at street speeds) like nothing else. The ground clearance and tire sizes make gravel road short cuts a piece of cake. The luggage has adequate capacity for some short solo sport touring. The luggage rack gives it the ability to transform into a full capacity tourer. I prefer the double sided swingarm as I don't want another jackstand taking up space in my garage. Seems like a bike I could get on with without changing thing. If there'd be one thing I worry about is the plastic dash. My Versys dash has a tendency to melt on hot days when the sun hits the windscreen just right. It'd be just about irresistible in Ducati yellow...
Oooh no - Ducati has to be red, it should be illegal to ride them in any other colour!! :0) Thanks for watching and for stopping by - Merry Christmas! - TMF
The new 821 looks pretty slick too. Only been about 13 years since they put out something besides red and white. They used to make a nice dark gray too. imgur.com/YR5ypCL Apparently, the guy in charge of ordering paint got fired.
Just wanted to ask you to compare it with 1200 (which I tried) but then I watched the video at 2:40. :) I guess I have to test 950 on my own to make my mind. Cheers, lovely bike.
Great short review. I love big Italian v-twins. Ducati, Moto Morini and Sofia Loren spring to mind! Useless at 30mph (the bikes not Sofia Loren) but you don’t buy them for that reason. Italian machines are beautiful in a way that BMW’s and KTM’s aren’t.Triumphs generally look like that have been designed by Lance Corporal Harrington-Farquhar, except the early 675 Daytona. Ok, so the new Norton V4 is a stunner! But Ferrari’s of the motorbike world? Don’t lets get carried away here.....you’re all too young. That would be MV Augusta. Anyway, have a great Xmas and New Year. Get Mrs F a new snare drum for Xmas! 😂😂
Again, loved this. Please though, try to time your overtakes so that you’re not passing driveways, side roads and that car park on the right. Seen that a few times recently and one day some ditz may turn out left without looking straight into your path. I hold my breath each time you do it. You’re a Class 1 review guy and I want you to live to be a Class 1 rider too :-) Can’t wait for Doo-Kat-eee to give you the new Pikes Peak to cast judgement upon. Merry Xmas.
Cheers Pete - and thanks for looking out for me/the advice - appreciated (and I have taken note, this was recorded a while back....do pick me up if you see anything else similar though, we all need to be looking out for each other!)....cheers and Merry Christmas....TMF
An interesting watch as ever MF. I like Ducatis as well though the thing that put me off is the possible reliability issues though that might just be internet forum syndrome. Previously when going into Ducati dealerships I always got the feeling they had a take it or leave it attitude and the servicing costs are very high so if I ever bought one I'd seriously consider the PCP route so if the initial experience was bad I could hand the bike back at the end of the term and just walk away. Maybe they've changed their attitude since I looked at geting one previously and their customer service is now on a par with the likes of BMW which I'm used to. They do look the dogs doo dahs though
Well I can only speak from my own experience, I have had one small issue with my Duc (rusty chain) that was sorted under warranty (was a PITA though) and I think as far as the dealers are concerned they vary - my local Ducati dealer is rubbish, has exactly that unhelpful attitude, so I bought my Panigale from Ducati Croydon and had it delivered too me, they could not have been more helpful, a lovely bunch of chaps there....so different from my local lot...
Think you only truly find out how good a dealer is when you have after sales / warranty issues. When I had Multiple issues with my Multi back in 2011 I can only say my then dealer JHP Ducati Coventry were fantastic. Love the looks of the Ducati, a little scarred by the ownership experience.
See, this is a bit of my problem as well with these beautiful bikes... Locally to me, Ducati is the choice of the dickhead rider- gleaming, cocky and smug. The dealership people are the same way. I went there for some track gear and was immediately turned off by the attitudes on display. Lovely machines but around here they probably wouldn't even let me buy one without capped teeth, a manicure and hair transplant.
Now that you say it... its true. Multistrata does look better that the rest. I personally dont like ducati. But i love the multistrata. I dont care about the monster or the panagali or any of the rest except this one.
G’day from Australia, can I please ask a quick question, i’m thinking of buying the V2 but in Aus it’s a 6 month wait and no bikes to test ride, in your opinion is the bike you rode perfectly well mannered at slow speeds? I've red 2 reviews saying it’s a bit grumbly unless it’s on the boil. I don’t really ride that fast, just like cruising around the country side where I live at about 40-50km. Yes I should probably buy a cruiser but I just love the ducati for the looks, the soft ride, safety tech etc. I greatly appreciate your thoughts. Thank you, Cheers Andrew
I didn’t find any issue with slow speed riding Andrew, but then I’m a bit ham-fisted when it comes to riding motorcycles and don’t tend to notice minor nuances!.
Merry Christmas!which bike is better this or ktm 1090?is ktm really faster than multistrada. Can you feel the bigger torque of ktm on the road?I think ktm is the bigger competitor.
TheMissendenFlyer I have ridden Multistrada 950 and it is as you described.Maybe 1090 has a more touring seat position and bigger engine but 950 has very good gear ratio which make the engine very juicy too.About the finish of the components Ducati is better.About look Ducati wins for my taste. In my country 950 is 300 euro more expensive but that is not a serious reason not to buy that in that price range of bikes.Plus 950 has a full setting fork and standard monobloc brembo brakes.
I would expect it to be a good one Ducati thanks for your top 5’s. One q. What benefit would it have to blur the speedo the way you do? I mean when the speed can be easily determined by your video timing and the length of the lines on the tarmac (typically made under official specifications and known lengths).
Dunno - some people do so I thought I would, I don't do an all my videos and then I have comments from people saying "why don't you blur it"!! I don't know what the official line is.....would like to know though!
Hi Mr Flyer, I am very interested on one of these, but then discovered reviews (one of which you did) of the KTM 1090 Adventure. How, in your opinion, do they compare.
I would class the Multistrada a sports tourer more than an adventure bike, same class as the Yamaha MT 09 tracer or the Triumph Tiger 1050. Some things to dislike about the Multistada would be initial cost and the cost of servicing, the Ferrari comparison is very apt, it is not the case of having the money to buy one it is having the money to service the beast and keep them on the road. If anyone keeps them long enough to have the cam belts replaced or the valves adjusted start saving now, exotica comes at a price.
Maybe I'm weird, but I don't like the looks. To me an ADV bike should look like a GS. The Multi is a weird mix of GS and sportbike. If only there were a cheap GS that sounded like a Duc but had shaft drive...
Would it be comparing apples to pomegranates to compare the Multistrada to the Africa Twin? The only reason I ask is because I’ve ridden the AT, so it’s a point of reference.
TMF Can you ride the 1260 and let me know which one you'd honestly go for ? I want a 1200s really badly but it is significantly more expensive, and when you factor in that ducati only does 3 year PCP deals, it means it's only affordable for the really well off (imo) I mean who can afford to justify £250+ per month) for a multi 1200s with a deposit of 2-3k. I'm specifically interested in the differences between standard and skyhook suspension.
Compared to the GS it's faster and slightly top heavy - feels heavier at standstill. In my view the GS is the better all round bike, but if you want fun, then the MTS is the one to go for...
I like your videos, I'm also a Ducati fan but can't get used to this new-age crap of a V engine being called an L twin. Honda for example have a range of 90 degree engines and have always been V twin or V four. Clue's in the title VFR, VT, VF etc. American muscle cars are mainly if not all V8 although they have a 90 degree configuration. Never hear of a 'Big L 8' Maybe I'm getting too old as I also cringe at the word Owdee(like owl) instead of Audi (like auto) and Porshur instead of Porsche, Purshow instead of........ I bet Delboy is old school too, just sayin. Thumbs up all the same, Merry Christmas.
Strange video fault, the speedo appears to be out of focus from time to time, maybe vibration related as it seems to occur only on the faster sections of road ? LOL
Disagree there my friend, only our Ex-colonial cousins call em dookarti’s - everyone else, including the Italians, call them Ducati’s (albeit with an accent)....
Small criticism...I get what you are trying to do with the 'hey kids' but it's kind of condescending. I don't think you'd lose your identity if you lost that tag line. Otherwise, enjoying the channel. Inciteful as always.
I'm a big fan of these reviews. Unlike the magazines, The Flyer always gets it right.
Very kind sir!

Top 5 things and you didnt add the feature where it blurs your display when it gets near the 60 mark ;o)
Strange that!
Totally agree with your first point. I liked your video and commentary on this 950 Multistrada ride...thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another enjoyable real world review. Have a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.
You too - thanks
Thanks for a year of great videos mr.flyer. merry Christmas to you and all your subscribers.
Thank you Andrew - Merry Christmas to you too, thanks for watching this year - stay tuned for more in 2018!
Of course ducati's are the Ferraris of the bike world
They're fast
They're beautiful
And they look good in red
And Italian
Agreed all round!
and they break down a lot (Allegedly)
Well it is a ducati
Ducati's are known for that
Like my dad said " like with anything Italian it looks great but breaks easily"
My wife's had her Diavel since 2011, it now has 20k miles on and (touching hairy wood) nothing! nothing gone wrong so far. I have a Desert Sled and she also has a Scrambler Classic, so far no problems although it's early in their life yet.
Looks a great ride you have encouraged me to book a test ride in the New Year, keep up the good work you are doing,
Thank you Steve and willco!
A lovely bike and another great review. A very merry Xmas to you and yours.
Thank you Gary, same to you my friend.....
Another great review TMF, keep up the good work, wishing you a very merry Christmas and looking forward to more reviews in the new year.
Thank you Alan - you too....
Enjoyable review. Very nice bike.! Very pleasing to the eye. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thank you and the same to you!
Don't think I've ever seen a review where the multistrada is referred to as beautiful!
Suppose it's as they say, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder lol
The PM's got a cracking pad wow.
....and that was just the gate!
It seems you finally have the 'one up' on white van man as he appears in your rear view mirror in the last moments of the video. Well done!
Ha haa! Defeated at last!! Well spotted Colin....
"Practicaly perfect in every way"TMF. Have a great Christmas mate.
Thanks you too!
Happy xmas and a prosperous and safe new year ..... Thanks for all the interesting info ....One of my pals aged 86 has just bought a 1900cc Indian Chief bike ....
Nice one Graham - wow - there's hope for all of us yet!

Thank you Paul, same to you and willco....
It looks a very confident inspiring machine, you were throwing it around like a pro, have a great christmas, but i will still expect a video Monday hahahahahaha
Don't worry James, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! :0)
I must confess I've not seen one up close yet, They look a great machine. Thanks for the review. RSM8
You’re welcome...

The rake on 1260 has also been increased.
100% agreed. Great review as usual
happy holidays to you and your family! i appreciate your vlogs so much. take care and be well! ernie from cambridge, massachusetts, usa.
Very kind of you Ernie - thanks and merry Christmas to you too - TMF

100% agree....
Looking forward to trying this out next year. Have a great Crimbo TMF :)
Yes it's a lovely machine - cheers and you too - TMF
great vid mate have a safe New year

Can’t wait to see more of TMF in 2018!! Looking forward to seeing you on a Honda Grom and HD Sportster 😜
Cheers Richard....sounds good to me!
nice revieuw , top stuff !!
Quite a posh neighborhood that Missenden. And the bike is nice too. 😜
He he, yes it's not too shabby....
Loving the videos (particularly Ducati).
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
Merry Christmas to you and your family 🖒😎
Thank you - and to you!
Yep , we got it. You love Ducatis.
Sure do! ...with one or two exceptions....
Very helpful as ever, thanks TMF. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
do you plan on adding a 'worst 5' features too? I had heard they were a bit top heavy - does it strike you that way?
Yes it does - when I do the long term review I'll go through all the negative points I've found as well as the positives....Merry Christmas...
Thanks for another great and informative video, as always! This bike is definitely towards the top of my list. I was wondering if you would consider doing a similar video on your top five dislikes? Sounds like it may be tough though so I would settle for a top three if you can't get all the way to five ;)
Well the bike has gone back to ducati uk now but I will list the negatives in my final long term review coming soon....
Merry Christmas TMF
...and to you Martin..
Dallas Cuthbertson the only off road the multi strada is good for is Tesco private car park
No sadly, like the majority of riders of these big expensive off road bikes, mine stays firmly on the tarmac!
Great video, how comfortable is the seat on long rides, and with 2 up, the woman's opinion of seat comfort riding back there, on long rides? Thanks
Love your onboard vids TMF.
Am I weird prefering the looks of the Super 10? The riders view of the Multi is like the Tiger Sport, looks like a weely bin with bars!
Gotta love the little badge details and the like though and always a soft spot for Ducatis.
Yeah I think you’re right, you are weird Nigel - IMO the Tiger Sport and the MTS are too of the best looking adventure bikes out there....
Well horses for courses Nigel, I for one love my Ducati and all the tech it brings...all the best - TMF
What a sweet bike just a wee bit oouta my price range..you have a new fan!! My wife Cindy started watching your videos and loves your every thing!!! Lol how do I send you a pic of our new versys1000? Thank you
Send a pic of you r wife if you like! themissendenflyer@gmail.com ;0)
Great review ! I'm split between this bike and the triumph tiger sport 1050. Which would you say is best Andy?
I love the Tiger Sport 1050 (as an ex owner) but the Multistrada is a way better bike....
@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks andy. It certainly sounds nicer and looks more modern, and I’m more used to a twin than a triple.
Thanks Peter - same to you!
Have a great Xmas TMF! 🎄
You too Richard - all the best - TMF
Reliabilty and functionality comes before design in my priority list. If something Looks very good there's always a little voice in my head that says: yeah, but what if.....
But all seems ok whit this Ducati 😋
Fair enough!
- TMF
Merry Christmas. Red Ducs are like black Harleys. Cliche! Give me yellow...or better yet, give me black and yellow.

Ooh no, you're definitely wrong there :0)
The new 821 looks pretty slick too. Only been about 13 years since they put out something besides red and white. They used to make a nice dark gray too.

Apparently, the guy in charge of ordering paint got fired.
Cheers Steve - Merry Christmas to you and yours...
What an idiot thing to say ,, no offense, but the over taking comment is ridiculous 🙄
Someone has to say so !!
My ex girlfriend was like Ducati Multistrada, current one is more like GS. Nuff said
An interesting watch as ever MF.
I dunno why some dealers are like that....I suspect they are the less successful ones long term....
Any thoughts about the riding position? Great vid tho - trying to weigh up this or the new Versys 1000 and think this may have swung it
Pretty much the same position as the Versys just your legs are tucked up a bit higher...
Have a good Xmas.
You too Wyn -thanks for all your support this year...TMF
Great review btw. Just wonder if you'll do a review on the new Monster 821?
I'd like too, so if and when I can I will - stay tuned!
Nice one. Keep up the good work. Love the show👍
Thank you!
Merry Christmas TMF. There going to be a Christmas Day special?
Of course!
(1st ? ;-) Enjoy Xmas TMF, cheers !
Well done - and you too SB, thanks for all your support this year - TMF
Now that you say it... its true. Multistrata does look better that the rest. I personally dont like ducati. But i love the multistrata. I dont care about the monster or the panagali or any of the rest except this one.
Fair enough!
Nice video
Thanks
@@TheMissendenFlyer Thank you :)
Are these bikes good for 2 up? Will a 6 foot, 230 lb person fit ok on them? How's the suspension? Are they easy on the back and spine?
Yes, yes, lovely and yes!
Merry Christmas!which bike is better this or ktm 1090?is ktm really faster than multistrada. Can you feel the bigger torque of ktm on the road?I think ktm is the bigger competitor.
The KTM is nicer to ride in my opinion, but the Ducati looks much nicer and feels top quality....depends what you value most...Merry Christmas!
May i ask what and what kind of microfone do you use here on this ride, thx for good video
Deets in description.....
Love the autoblur feature. Does it take the local speed limits into account?
Actually it’s nowhere near as clever as you may think....
Thk you.
Thank you for watching as ever Bruce....
Hi Mr Flyer, I am very interested on one of these, but then discovered reviews (one of which you did) of the KTM 1090 Adventure.
How, in your opinion, do they compare.
I far prefer the looks of the Ducati - but in every other way the KTM is a better bike in my opinion....
True!
Yes I think it would be....
They can't be Ferrari of motorcycles any more being Audi owned 😂 so maybe Lamborghini
🤣👍
TMF Can you ride the 1260 and let me know which one you'd honestly go for ? I want a 1200s really badly but it is significantly more expensive, and when you factor in that ducati only does 3 year PCP deals, it means it's only affordable for the really well off (imo) I mean who can afford to justify £250+ per month) for a multi 1200s with a deposit of 2-3k. I'm specifically interested in the differences between standard and skyhook suspension.
Will see what I can do - when I rode with skyhook when it first came out I honestly couldn’t tell it was anything special!
Is it easy to handle while standing? I am 5 7" with 30" inseam and low weight about 160lbs...
I found it a little top heavy, not too bad but more noticeable than other bikes I’ve ridden...
Blimey - it looked like you were doing about 150!
Must have been at least twice that ;0)
must be the slightly wide angle camera lens ) . Merry Xmas and thx for all the excellent films - would love to see the upcoming Yamaha Tenere 700...
You have cruise control?
Iiirc yes
Top quality and beautiful looks, except for the dash. It was excellent in the 90's........
Fair enough!
Doea it handle better than GS?
No - on a par with and faster but feels heavier in comparison...
Great video as usual! Thinking of buying a 950 and cant decide if i should go for the 950s or the 950. Any thoughts?? Cheers, Dave
TBH I can't recall the difference....!
this or the yamaha tracer 9 gt?? erring towards the Yam
I’ll Let you know - will be getting a Tracer .9GT soon!
how does it compare to the GS?
Which one. 800 or 1200
1200
Compared to the GS it's faster and slightly top heavy - feels heavier at standstill. In my view the GS is the better all round bike, but if you want fun, then the MTS is the one to go for...
OMG 😍😍😍
I like your videos, I'm also a Ducati fan but can't get used to this new-age crap of a V engine being called an L twin.
Honda for example have a range of 90 degree engines and have always been V twin or V four. Clue's in the title VFR, VT, VF etc.
American muscle cars are mainly if not all V8 although they have a 90 degree configuration. Never hear of a 'Big L 8'
Maybe I'm getting too old as I also cringe at the word Owdee(like owl) instead of Audi (like auto) and Porshur instead of Porsche, Purshow instead of........
I bet Delboy is old school too, just sayin.
Thumbs up all the same, Merry Christmas.
And to you - Cheers!
...country living, with long winding country roads, a requirement for a bike like this?
Not necessarily - but it sure helps :0)
Another top review, any chance of finding out fuel consumption figures, sorry I'm a tight ass!
Stay tuned for my long term review John!
Strange video fault, the speedo appears to be out of focus from time to time, maybe vibration related as it seems to occur only on the faster sections of road ? LOL
I'll look into it.... ;0)
Strange how when ever you grab the throttle the instrument cluster immediately goes "fuzzy"?
Burt Hulbert Must be an error in the display surely... 😂
I noticed this and laughed. The Flyer is a man of careful considerations.
yeah on my bike it is the scenery that goes blurry, maybe cos i'm in the southern hemisphere?
My 2015 MTS/S does the same thing... asked the service manager at the local Duc Dealer about it... he said not to worry... it's 'Normal'... 😆👍
"...depending on what side of the Atlantic you're on."
*depending on whether you're inside or outside of Britain.
Disagree there my friend, only our Ex-colonial cousins call em dookarti’s - everyone else, including the Italians, call them Ducati’s (albeit with an accent)....
TheMissendenFlyer th-cam.com/video/0mIrxADvYl4/w-d-xo.html
? This you use in the video
I think Volkswagen AG would prefer you called them the Audi of motorcycles ;)
Haha, yes good point....
Noice!
Small criticism...I get what you are trying to do with the 'hey kids' but it's kind of condescending. I don't think you'd lose your identity if you lost that tag line. Otherwise, enjoying the channel. Inciteful as always.
Let’s not go there again - did you see my recent live video? We discussed this at length...
Ah, sorry, no. I get a couple hours a week to watch my favourite TH-camrs. Can't watch everything I'm afraid. I'll check it out.
