Engine Cover Insulation Replacement MAZDA 3 6 CX-5 CX-9 CX-3 CX-7

The engine covers insulation usually helps with noise and heat. For older MAZDA 3 6 CX-5 CX-9 CX-3 CX-7 cars, the fibre insulation under the plastic engine cover usually disintegrate and fall into the engine bay. It becomes dry and brittle from age and finally small pieces of fibre falls outside of the fabric cover into the engine bay. Worrying the dust and bits can potentially get inside the engine, I decided to blow them out and replace the insulation.

It looks like fireproof insulation. I bought it in Taobao, it may be availavle on Aliexpress.

Did you use black silicone to “glue” it?

Yes, silicone gasket sealer. It stayed on OK.

Hello, thank you for the video. I have 2 questions that I hope you can answer. I don't have the tools to heat press the insualtion to the cover. Do you think a glue gun would do the job? Also, hows the gasket sealer holding up with you? Im not sure if I'll be able to find it though.

I didnt use glue gun as heat from the engine cover might melt the hot glue over time. Gasket sealer has been holding up great so far. Cheers.

I didnt cut it, it was a ready-made piece I bought from taobao.com hope this helps.
