This 3rd and hopefully last installment to the franchise was a pleasant surprise. I thought it'll lose steam after 2 movies but what a surprise. This particular one, the whole pacing of the movie, the way they portrayed the town and its people along with the background music. it was genuinely beautiful. For an action movie, I believe it was very brave of them to not focus more on the action. Denzel just needed to deliver his dialogues that way only he can and that was enough. The music and the place left in awe, truly.
Broo you nailed 😅 i tought the exact same, the way they build the whole film was just on point, what a great way to close the saga, just gratefull to live in the denzel era😅

Thank You for speaking up. I admire your boldness. In my personal opinion Denzel goes way to far with the witiness, sarcasm, and street thuggery for a Village that is still living in the 1960's. Way over dramatized and very cringe at times. Seen this in the theater when it first came out and half the people were laughing and I heard one guy say He looks like He has Downs when He stares down his dying prey. Not a complete disappointment but none the less a disappointment.
The Equalizer has got to be one of the most satisfying franchises in recent memory other than maybe John Wick. Denzel just does action like no other. I wish he'd been young enough to play Jason Bourne!
“I’ll leave this place like a war blew through it.” As if you weren’t already a social pariah of Italian society, threatening to destroy a whole town while people are recording you will ensure that status as a pariah is permanent.
This "social pariah of Italian society" lives in a palazzo and drives a Ferrari. And he doesn't give a sh*t about social norms and rules, he said so. Also, Vincent cuts hands off people who call him names. And actually, Camorra is part of the Italian society in Naples and Campania. Shadow part, to be sure, but having lots of ties to business, politics, and other spheres.
@@patrickhuot001 Good and bad are a point of view, it depends on where you stand. Is mass murder good, if the people are considered bad? That's basically what McCall does, he killed more people in the movie than Vincent and his mafia combined. There were a lot of people in Vincent's home at Marco's funeral... I'm sure they'd call Vincent and Marco good, and the American the monster. Then, Vincent only threatened to destroy Altomonte because his brother was killed there and they were harboring the murderer. To him, they did bad. Also, his initial plan of developing Altomonte into a tourist area with resorts, hotels and casinos would actually do the town more good economically in the long run than their celebrating a local football team's victory with their pet vigilante killer. Oh, and the Camorra have vendettas - killing a mafia boss and his brother would draw ruthless vengeance on anyone close to the killer. Vincent is head of five Camorra families - five clans unleashing a bloody vendetta on Altomonte would be so not good.
Sooo brave! They intimidate unarmed civilians and hold women and children hostages. But when the police are coming, they tuck their tails and get their little cavalcade outta there in a hurry.
They're not knights, or soldiers, or policemen, or anyone to whom "honor" or "law" applies; their only sense of "honor" or "law" is loyalty to whichever of them is higher on the food chain. They'd probably tell you that they're "businessmen', or a traditional part of the Sicilian social order. But they're only dirtbag criminals. No more. And, for all his veneer of faked Big Shot respectability, the boss is no less a dirtbag than his squatnik of a little brother.

I would suppose that boss would not show his grievance in this manner. The revenge would be more cruel, more massive etc. The point is that protagonist would not approach him easily, not in this manner. Maybe I am wrong, but somehow, if the character is boss, he would not allow himself to show weaknesses or grief in public, because he has reputation to preserve. Grievance or pain would only mean that the competition can more easily attack him and ruin him. I don't think cops/inspectors can do much in these circumstances, but competition and his men are more rellevant to this dynamics

I enjoy the detail of the Doctor using a Carcano rifle during the standoff. Although this detail could simply be explained as "Give the old Italian doctor an old Italian gun," I've always felt that it gives the Doctor some backstory.
