Hello Peter.` Thank for showing the cranes. I purchased the Network rail ones, But like you i want the Balfour Beatty one. Good video. Hope to get one out this week end.All the best. Mick.
hi Peter, that was a nice surprise I thought you had closed down for the winter, your engineering set looks great just looked out of the window to see a fresh blanket of snow, stay well and warm, see you again when its warmer regards Ron
Hello, Peter! As stated in the last video, that is a great looking crane and your mods only make it sharper. Nice to see and hear what is going on in the shed before winter sets in! Take care and best wishes!
Evening Peter great video about your Balfour Beatty crane looking at both of them side by side you’ve done a cracking job mate it sure is cold in our sheds can’t stay in to long l got a flash sale email from my local shop Rails of Sheffield about the class 47 sound fitted and weathered engine room lights in freightliner grey £189.00 bargain getting delivered tomorrow nice little job for the weekend on Beighton Parkway Sheffield l looked into my family history and found my great grandparents came from south london in Denmark hill Anyway take care Kev from the shed
Hi Kev and thank you. Yes travel through Denmark Hill station on the train, also had some appointments at the hospital there. One of the biggest for South London Cheers Peter
It looks good Peter. I have three of the EFE Rail cranes and a double crane kit to make into a Balfour Beatty version. Just noticed you have the Loram Rail class 08 too. I am working on their Derby special paint job. I like all the Derby RTC/Network Rails stuff. I am converting a Bachmann class 08 to Serco. The RoG in green looks good. I've seen it at Derby near where I live.
Hi there, yes very happy they did this, wish they would do more engineering stuff. I see you have quite a few of the continental HO versions. I did get the old small tamper version and made it look a little bigger by fitting a roof and although it runs, it spends most of the time at the back of the layout. Just one thing, looking at your video, you have a hydraulic pipe hanging down from the side of the jib. Being plastic it should be easy to put back in place. Indeed you may have already done it :) All the best Peter
@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 I only noticed the pipe in the video and not when I filmed it so not back in place yet. I light have dislodged it. You have a great collection.
Hi Peter, lovely video, always great to hear about the goings on at Torridon Road, the cranes look superb, thanks for sharing, take care, all the best from Scotland, Stephen.
Hi Peter great video I pre-ordered the balfour beatty crane the same time as you it's a fantastic model they seem to be all sold out at rails but the prices have been reduced £63 .41😢😮
Hi Andy, yes I bet the Balfour crane would sell faster than the other ones, maybe why they dropped the price as the others will hang around Cheers Peter
Hi Peter as soon as I saw Bachmann (EFE) were releasing the Balfour Beatty 12T Plasser crane I thought of you and thought he is going to buy one of them (lol) good on you and the two together in the formation of an Engineering train look great, many thanks for sharing and get back in the warm regards Barry..👍
Hi Pete like the vid.. need to get one of the BB units now finding most out of stock... does the cold really impact the models? I have never really thought about it and in winter used in 6+deg. TBH never had a problem but interested
Hi, well yes, as I said the makers of the controller don't recon to use if its to cold. You are dealing with small electrical components after all in the chips in DCC. Had no thoughts when I had a DC layout, it was down to how cold I was, you could still say the same now I guess Cheers Peter
An 08 Shunter in Balfour Beatty livery would complete this train, if there was one in that livery. Nice crane, but too modern for me. Martin. (Thailand)
Hi Peter I met you at chatham show I was the guy talking about bike about your triumph speed triple if you will I would like to buy your other crane that's if you want to sell it my son likes thing like thing cranes etc
Hi again and thank you for the offer but pleased to say it's already gone to a good home. Sorry. Ride safe and take care lots of wet leaves about All the best Peter
Now then Peter, I was not keen on the red (looks like a fire engine) or yellow version (but did like the Balfour Beatty one you have) so didn't buy any. I received on Saturday an email from Rails saying the Balfour was in stock and I thought straight away of you and how you would feel!!! I immediately ordered two and by Sunday Rails had sold out. As regards why the delay in releasing and the secrecy in Balfour version I don't know, wether it's likely to be a better seller? but I do think Bachmann/EFE/Kernow have shot themselves in the foot, as folk will hold off buying a model that might have a version they what at a later date. May I ask where you obtained the Balfour Beatty van? (and its reference detail please) or did you make it? really looks good in the rake. I did buy along with the two cranes a Hornby R40213 Balfour Beatty staff coach which may not be correct to run with the cranes, but I like it. I am pleased you bought another crane as running with two in the rake looks good. I'm expecting Peter's fire engine to appear on eBay very soon? Bill.
Hi Bill, yeah can't say I was not a bit peeved when I found out. For sure this is the one most will go for, so was it planned? The Van is a Hornby one picked up at a model show. No longer in production but this was its details www.hattons.co.uk/25842/hornby_r6452_balfour_beatty_vda_van/stockdetail Cheers Peter

I found one from dealer at £35, ouch. Snag is will it turn up?
@geordielad9636 Good job finding one. I looked several times
Would you Adam & Eve it? A week later and another announcement... looks the part though.
Yeah Hi Andy. It seems this one has flown of the shelves. Hmmmmm
