    You should have drove the truck around for 3 hours with the rad flush in there. And never run the truck with no coolant in it as the pump fins run dry and is bad for the pump as the coolant lubes the pump. Also to get all the water out take compressed air and hose and put a air gun fitting on the hose and take the thermostat out. Bolt the therm housing back in. Make a seal with your hand and compressed air with heat on truck off in run position and 35 psi of air blowing into the heater core. This will push the fluid out the heater core. Then the hose you took off the core 35 psi threw the heat core hose the goes to the block. Air going into the block not the heater core this time.. This will push all the water out of everywhere. Taper off the heater core inlet for now while doing this to make a seal.. Leave rad cap on and lower drain cock open. Or lower hose that goes to rad. And thats that. Then put your hose back on heater core, close the pet cock or install lower rad hose and fill it with the new stuff with truck running and heat on. Be sure to fill as much as you can with the truck off before you start it. And that rad flush its good to run the truck for at least a 3 hours for it to do its thing. Otherwise your just throwing your money away. Other then that, Great video.

      @@jeffmeagher7809 the block has drain points on it too. Also you want to flush out the coolant reservoir (where you fill the coolant by the firewall). For that you can add the coolant flush and run it, then pull off the hose from the reservoir and drain it OR use a hose and turkey baseter to suck it out.

    couple things.
    **coolant temps: that big ol' indiana inline is a fickle girl. she makes power cooler, but she's more efficient warmer. the later 6.7s come with a 205* thermostat, and our 3rd gens are stock 190*. going to a cooler thermostat or, like you did, more thermally efficient coolant you'll pick up a little power (maybe not noticeable with Ye Olde Keester Dyno) but lose a little efficiency.
    **coolant bypass. the fleece bypass is temp dependent. it opens with a 180* thermostat in the housing. the HSM kit opens with a watts-type pressure valve which i think you can order for either 35 or 50 psi. me personally, i picked up the fleece because i'd rather have it just open and stay open.
    **filtration: sinister (and others, but that's the one i've got) makes a coolant filter for our trucks. uses a wix filter that i've yet to find an oreilly where it's not in stock. installed when my water pump went out. first few filter changes? bruh... that thing was nasty like a fayetteville nail salon. blew my mind how much garbage was floating around in the cooling system.

    • @EVERYTHANGDIESEL
      @EVERYTHANGDIESEL  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine fluctuates too since I did the Mishimoto radiator. Hottest it gets is just below 200 which it only gets to on the highway doing 70 at about 2,300 rpms. ANY other time it’s about 190, and gets even lower (180ish) if I’m sitting at a light, etc.. It almost gets TOO cool since these motors like about 195-200 degrees to get a complete burn. I’m still happy though, it’ll be piece of mind in the summer when it’s 100 degrees outside and humid as hell. Peace of mind! did a 50/50 pre mix and also i ran the heater to allow the heater core to warm up so it can flow through it. i was talking in reference to the coolant bypass valve opening.

    Did a coolant change on my truck, replaced the thermostat to a 190 and now jumps around from 180-210 on the highway. Might have to put the old one back

      Bad thermostat actually. Temp never goes past 180 degrees running at 2500 rpms on highway

    Nice video. How did you open that radiator drain valve? It turns 1/4 turn and stops? Supposed to force it? Pull it? Anyone know? I often break stuff! Trying to avoid that.

      U use pliers and twist it out until it stops and itll drain

      @@EVERYTHANGDIESEL : Thanks! So twist more than 90 degrees? Or twist 90 and then pull like crazy?

    Found by flushing my coolant 3 times, disconnecting the heatercore and using the hose to fill the system via the core pipework pretty much burps the system without too much fuss. The other thing is these engines run cold! Heater on full and fan on full can cool it down.

      Disconnect from the core and funnel it with that hose right into manifold ?

      @@haynlaskan9668 burp the heater core, and the disconnected hose from the top of the core, will burp the air out of the pipe from the engine.
