🤣🤣 I felt the same way , not gonna dump 1300 on A m17 commemorative when I can get the regular M17 for 750 , other than the color of the controls and the serial numbers it's the same , and the commemorative isnt 100% the take down lever on a real m17 duty has to go to armorer to be removed , commercial models can be removed by owner
Its illegal to have any gun in my country without a license And its very hard to get a license and even if u got a license there is no firearms stores just air guns so be grateful that it is all about the money in ur country u just need some money 😓

I don't recommend them. I bought one and it shoots incredibly low. The most expensive pistol I have and it's the only one I have that shoots 6 in low at 15 yards. Said can take the combat sight hold and stick it up their ass! I feel like I wasted nearly $700

This is the first non-black handgun I've looked at that actually looks good to me.
Thank you hickok45 for the videos that you make. I got into shooting in April of 2018 and I've watched probably hundreds of your videos since then. I watched several of your new shooter videos, and they were very valuable for me in learning some basics. I also use some of your videos as a preparation tool when I bring new shooters to the range, especially the video on how not to point a gun.
This probably isn't the first time you've heard this, but there's a very similar benefit to watching you as there is to watching Bob Ross. You're very passionate about what you do, and you just have fun. I love other styles and personalities, but it is really refreshing not to watch someone who doesn't have "tactical" in their channel name 7 times. For that same reason, you're a great ambassador for firearms because I think you can reach a broader audience of people.
Anytime I want to make a decision on a firearm, I always look to see if you have a video on it. And just about every time, you do. The only firearm I wanted to see you do a video of that I couldn't find was the Spas-12, but that particular firearm is a little difficult to find as I understand. In any case, all of my firearm purchases so far have been informed by watching you shoot them and talk about them. My first handgun, by the way, was a Glock 19. It was a difficult choice between it and the 92FS, but I'm glad I made the choice I did in the end (I'm still getting the 92FS, just later).

Here in NY when my neighbors hear Hickok45 on my TV they call a uber and go immediately to Starbucks to find a happy place and....cry.
Its a defensive house gun. I hope if someone goes to a house with a shooting range outside the back door they would choose another house. hopefully in a different zip code. Life is good.

My grandma opted in for the m18, not really different just a inch off the top making the barrel flush with the the picitinny rail. It’s a hybrid use for her, being a okay carry and great home defense build. Love the action on it smooth as butter, I can see why the military contracted it
My whole military career was with the 1911. When I got out they were just switching over to the Beretta 92FS and I was a huge fan of the change. The 1911 was just obsolete. A great system and help win several wars, but it's time was past. Now, I must get used to a new kid on the block. I will never be able to depart with my 92, but I will give this a whirl and put it through the paces.

You should try a doublestack 9mm 1911 like staccato. Definitely not obsolete. And a normal 1911 is a fine concealed carry pistol as well

Very nice pistol. I carry one as a Police Officer. Sig 320 carry model. Best trigger I’ve ever seen after 34 years of service. Highly recommend it.

It's great to see hickok45 becoming a sig guy. I'm a big sig shooter as well and have used hickok45's advice and recommendations plenty of times before.

i have 1290 M17 and it has the same slide issue. my local gun shop BigBoys in OKC had one with same problem, sent it to sig and they fixed it free.

I own a Sig P320 compact 9mm and I absolutely love it. My winter carry and home protection.
Sig P365 is my summer pocket carry.

All of my favorite pistols on one table
I have a P320 compact 45 acp. It’s a law enforcement model which was sent back to Sig for the drop safety recall. I have the same issue with the slide not going into battery all the time. Only have about a hundred rounds through it. After watching this video I plan on going to the range and putting more rounds through it to see if it helps. Thank you for the informational videos.

I never knew SIG made a pistol with Ambi controls. Being left handed this is highly desirable. Also, I dont think that anybody will ever be able to beat Hickok45s shooting videos. He is the best. I'm a huge fan Mr. Hickok! Thank you for all that you do! 😁👍
I took delivery of my M17 in early fall 2022. LOVE IT. It still won't replace my 1911 .45 Range Commander but glad we have both.

I bought a P320 .45 in 2019 and I love it; the grip is my favorite feature of it. I bought it not knowing I would eventually have to qualify with it so I guess it worked out really well. Thanks for the video.

I own a M17 and it’s arguably my favorite handgun to shoot. Glad to see Hickok has one too. That tells me I definitely got a good one
I bought the non-commemorative M17 without the safety and do not have an issue with the out of battery thing.

That’s what I thought too with my P320 Compact with Manual Safety, then I decided why not a full size with RMR cutout since the conversion kit may cost the same as a new gun anyways.

My girlfriend is deployed in Afghanistan right now. She’s 101st Airborne, but still carrying an M9. She had an opportunity to buy one of these at a discounted price for when she gets home, but passed on it. I wish she would have bought it haha.

Maur Ice I’m an electrical engineer at Boeing, focusing mainly on military defense contracts. So no, I’m not “sitting on the couch”. I believe I’m doing my part, but in a different way. But I definitely give her all the credit and praise because she’s doing something most people (including me) aren’t willing to do.

Also, I know a few women who are in better shape than a lot of guys in their unit, my girlfriend being one of them, as she trains them in PT. And uhhhh what does this have to do with the M17?
bikeracerdude i agree to a point. I believe in true equality so the standards should be equal. But you’re insisting women shouldn’t be in the military and that doesn’t make sense to me. Not every role is a combat role. Most women in the military aren’t in combat roles. Even if they aren’t as physically capable as men, they can their specific job just as well, if not better than a man. And yes, free speech I agree. I just don’t know what part of my comment made you want to say all this
I know I am late to the game here. But I recently purchased this model as well. I believe the issue of it not going into battery is specifically caused by the loaded chamber indicator. Which is why it doesn't happen on any other P320 model
I'm an mp in the army and we use m17s. Actully was my first pistol I shot and I just fell in love with it.

I shoot the military guns partly, just as you said, we expect them to be reliable and to operate in really bad conditions; hopefully, the DoD is doing their job and procuring good firearms. Then, the next big part of it for me is that I am a veteran (US Navy). We carried and shot the 1911 when I was in the Navy so it was the only gun I knew. My first handgun was a 1911 and I've loved them for 50 years. I didn't even know the service had moved to the M9 when I started checking out the Taurus PT92 just because it was metal in a plastic gun world. To find its roots in the next generation service gun was definitely a heart-warming part of the equation. The Sig had been the new gun for a few years before I learned of that change, too, but there is that patriotic part of the equation so as I look for a lighter-weight, I'm getting old and the steel I love is is just too heavy, gun to carry, the Sig seems like the perfect choice. Of course I had to search out your review as part of my research.
Now to find left and right handed holsters so I can really Rambo-up.

military version has heavier slide and recoil spring to work with plus P ammo. The currant issue m17 do have black controls. Many thanks for your videos over the years.
I just picked up the M17 and, I'm not sure if I got lucky or if they've just updated what they ship with but, I got a 17rnd. mag and two 21rnd. mags with mine. Picked up the standard, civilian version without the thumb safety and I loooooove it.

Yeah that on the M17 will break in as you continue to shoot it. That’s what mine did when I had it. Then it stopped.
Also the p320 doesn’t do it because of the finish. Not because of the drop safety problem.

It would take him many hours of video. The U.S. Army has had dozens of sidearms. His M1873, M1911A1, M9 and M17 don't even begin to scratch the surface of *all* the sidearms the U.S. Army used from the M1873 onward. I was up to two dozen or so the last time I tried counting them all. Go back before the M1873 into the cap and ball, and the predecessors to those, and there are just as many.
I'm currently stationed in Afghanistan and on my COB we have an array of firearms. For instance I carry a M11 (SIG 228), and guys I work with carry Glock 17 & 19, M9 Beretta, M17 (I'll ask them if they have the slide issue), and even Coalition partners that carry HK45 USP. Needless to say it's one big party of different firearms. Keep up the great work on your Channel. You always provide a smile, even here in Afghanistan.

I’ve been watching HK for a while he’s killing the targets in the beginning.
Then toward the middle of video the barrel is starts getting hot the bullets start walking.
I noticed it a while back so when I got my MP Shield 40 first started it was a tack driver noticed after 30 minutes started tracking to the right .

91F armament repairer here, units should be receiving the first group of M17s in late to mid August and then steady delivery till fully integrated by August of 2020.

The only gun missing from the table was the M1917 45 revolver. These are one of my favorite revolvers.
That issue you’re having with the slide probably has something to do with the trigger disconnect. It’s purpose is to prevent the gun from firing when the slide is too far out of battery. The additional friction the disconnector arm exerts on the bottom of the slide likely prevents it from going all the way forward under low velocities. They also added this disconnector to newer commercial P320 pistols to address the drop safety issue that came up in 2017. These disconnectors originally came standard on the M17 which is why you don’t have that issue with your old P320. Also, those disconnectors leave a lengthwise linear wear mark on the bottom of the slide so the issue should improve as that area becomes more worn in.

My ex boyfriend was MARSOC (I’m a guy too by the way, sorry not sorry) and he carried one of these on and off deployment. I never got the chance to shoot it but he told me he loved his. He ran it suppressed, unsuppressed, with and without red dots, you name it he’s probably run it that way. And he loved it. I did handle it a couple times during what we called cleaning days, and I loved how it felt. So all in all I can see why this gun was adopted. We only split up because he needed to move to Wyoming and I live in Texas. It was hard but I respect him and we had a healthy breakup. But anyway the M17 and all its variants rock

@@joshcolby2178 FN 509 didnt pass the 12500 round test. So how the hell can you say that. Glocked passed phase 1 testing like Sig, also phase 2 testing. but at 116 million more why would you or anyone say that.
@@joshcolby2178 116 million dud...In the last 7 years have broken 4 Glock once I got passed 26K rounds. Plain and simple. I have 3 Sig 320's passed that,. Only ever broken one ejector spring. My comp gun is an Xfive at 100K...No broken nothing but I do replace striker springs and recoil spring in my yearly maintenance of the guns.

I have a P320 full size. Great piece. Loved this video. I wanted one, but couldn’t find one for a serious price. I’ve seen them for $1,500-$1,800. Ridiculous in my opinion, if you already have a P320.

I carry conceal carry the commemorative version of the M17 and it has never once had the out of battery problem, maybe something with your gun Hickok. I have tried getting it to do that for about two hrs now, I have fired less than a hundred rounds through it. Hope it works out! will keep my eyes peeled for fixes. Keep up the good work!
Hickok, those gongs almost have a musical quality. Maybe add some bells and you could do Carol of the bells at Christmas time.
