I Almost MISSED This RETIRING Lego Set...

- This LEGO set right here is really cool, AND, it went out of stock and RETIRED way too early! So, I had to find a way to get my hands on this now retired set at a still reasonable price. Here is my story of tracking down this LEGO set that is getting really expensive on the after market. Enjoy watching me scramble!
That batcave has gone CRAZY in price! Best time was 3x points on that Batman celebration day.

Got "lucky" picking this up when it released as a Batman fan AND it didn't hurt Rakuten had 20% off LEGO during that time too. But I totally feel you on the Colosseum. Thought for sure it would go on sale during Black Friday and boy was that a mistake. Lol
Awesome! Ya, now I wish I had gotten the deal you got at launch on the set. Black Friday was exactly what I was waiting on too for both these sets but I might have to plan more carefully next year. 🤣
I actually bought 4 on Batman day. For 325 (with 3 x insider points) On the day itself I decided to go on board with this set. I noticed it was barely offered on 2nd Marketplaces also on Ebay, stock was low and no further resellers. I also found the few ads which were online had almost a thousand fews and likes. Which is a green light that demand is there. Already sold one for 700 last week. The rest I will let it ripe in price a bit further… Ofcourse, at that moment I did not antipicate it would be out of stock that soon. So, Christmas came early:)
Wow! Good call! I did not see that coming. Batman day was definitely the best sale that was out there on that set, so with the demand for this set and low stock, you made a killer buy.
it would be really funny, if lego put it our for sell again on black friday or before christmas^^

FOMO can get the best of us. Missing out on the Sail Barge on day 1(and subsequently the promo which I would sell to recoup some of the cost and therefore making it $350 instead of $500) has caused me to realize I no longer need to chase the dragon.
Your right. It is tough to keep with every set! Unfortunately FOMO got me on this one though. 😂

Thanks for the info. I had the same issue with the Colosseum and looked at stockX but didn't trust it. I went to ebay and got lucky for around the same price

Yes. It’s amazing it didn’t sell well for ages and then all of a sudden it was gone. I managed to finally get one though

Oh I wanted to invest in this set but always felt that it wasn’tgood and it look really bad and also too small and it doesn’t really look like a good batcave and I had a chance to buy it for 350€ and then for 420€ but I decided not to and now it’s selling for 600-780€
I think we both had the same thoughts on this set in the beginning! Too bad LEGO can be so unpredictable when it comes to final retirement.
