@@mk20336 now I am playing it and I was searching videos for clarifications, so I found this series. I'm gonna watching them while I are playing the scenarios, some things are a bit ambiguous, this kind lf videos are really useful. Thanks!
Thank you for your work on this. Just a couple of suggestions: 1. You may want to zoom in to the counters as you are playing. Hard to see the numbers otherwise. 2. You may want to explain what the numbers mean and go through the rules a bit more.
Thanks . However you did not do a search for the US in the second battle cycle. If successful they could alert the aircraft, place CAP. Also flak from the ships in the second battle cycle could have aborted some of the strike aircraft…
Fully agree; did it somehow on purpose, assuming this is the way to play scenario; however, later on on BGG it was corrected such search should be done.
The special rules say no Flak in the first Battle Cycle, but wouldn’t it be available in the second? Also, does having two IJN task forces impact anything?
Hi, in second attack there can be both Flak and CAP. I intentionally omitted it, focusing on basics of Air Strike only. As for two Task Forces, I see no impact on the attack itself.
Having two task forces impacts the US search on Battle Cycle 2. If neither moves away there is a -1 DRM on that search which makes detecting them more likely, in which case any surviving air units can strike the TFs during the US Disadvantage Air Mission phase.
I think it was like 3rd attempt. had to get the feel for the rules. And remember, the capacity for Battleship losses is 6, but you need to inflict only 4 to score point as per the game victory conditions.
Double hits on naval units are only in the first cycle.
Good short serie of videos
Now I know based on BGG; when I was shooting that clarification was available; anyhow, Engagement Scenarios are really cool for learning purposes.

Great short battle😊
Perfect as initial train scenario!

Thank you very much for hints; indeed, these are good ideas how to go about it. Will incorporate in my future videos.
Since the Battleships were moored in pairs and one was in drydock you could make it a bit tougher by only allowing torpedo hits on half the BBs.
True, those engagement scenarios allows for tons of modifications. Anyhow, this is of course all for learning purposes!
Fantastic! thanks for posting, looking forward to this series
More to come definitely!
Great start to the series!
Thanks! The game is great, and I hope the series will help everybody to get familiar with it!
Best PacWar game ever made IMO. Will be watching!
Exactly, so deep, interesting and multilayer. And thank you for watching!

What a great way to shoot this. Looking forward to more.
Thank you! Further Engagement Scenarios will be published soon!
Will be watching!
Really glad to hear! Those Engagement Scenarios are great way to familiarize with the game.
No critical hits on air units
Yes, that was my mistake; I am learning with each game...
Within be any good for the original as we ?
I think this should be quite ok for original version. Some rules are slightly updated but main flow of the game is the same.
@@mk20336 Thankyou

wow. you got that result on first try? i played that sceanio 3 times and closest I got was 2 battleships destroyed.
