Great advise about the batch numbers. I found jsb knockouts for my impact that shoot fantastically. Walked back into the gun store and brought out all they had the next day. Not going to run out now for another 100 years.
Had the same issue with a group of AA 8.44gn pellets from a new tin. Was grouping like a shotgun pattern. I thought there was something wrong with the rifle, HW100 as it puts pellets through the same hole at 30yards. I checked for a loose silencer, checked the scope mounts, cleaned the barrel, weighed and washed the pellets. You name it I did it. Still grouped like a blunderbuss. For some reason I don't know why I thought try another tin. Opened another tin. Every shot pellet on pellet. Just because pellets come out of a new tin and have no identifiable anomalies does not mean they are AOK. Great view by the way.
Air Arms are "key holing", have not seen that in a pellet. As per normal an excellent production, this series is by far the best out of the 38 different UTube airgunners I watch. Well done. Hopefully some more Pellet Shanagans from you soon
I do agree with the batch number. JSB doei that my barrel likes. Yes ofcourse I did have a stash of tins of each batch that will give me atleast 15,000 shots.
Man, this series includes a lot of shooting .....and a loooooooooooot of joy !!!!!!! I love my down tuned HW 77K´s (from 17 fpe to exact 11.8 fpe (both) ) Oh, sorry ; one in .177 and one in .22 !! The .177 love 4.52´s from any manufacturer ! Even from the cheapest ! But the .22 likes the 5.53´s . I felt it at the first load. 5.52 does not fit well, to much play in the breach . They fall out when I moved my thumb to lock the breach. Anyways , both shoot anything I can buy !!!! I have 3. air rifle , a PCP ... FX Bobcat MK II in .22 . And this one is laser beam in any power settings !!! 32 fpe, 23 fpe, and what´s important for FT 10.6 - 11.4 fpe !!! The only "lead" she do not like.... is JSB Monsters 1. grate !!! and some sort of slugs I had left ( H&N copper things and some I think they called Rabbit ..kind a heavy ones 23 grain I guess !! Anyways, I´m really happy with my airguns ! Thanks for your video my friend !!!!
AA Fields are JSB Exacts. Both made by JSB but different batches/dies. Also changing pellet types after only a few shots does not allow time for the barrel to adjust to each batch so the results are not accurate.
@@AimSmall as I said, they are the same pellet just different dies and batches. And a different label on the tin. What you get inside the tin is random batches regardless of the label so it's not really comparing brands but comparing different dies of JSB Exacts. If you tested 10 tins of each, there would be mixed results depending on how your individual barrel would like them. Change rifles and again the results would change.
The day I get a gun that is powerful enough to launch them 100m... Shooting them at 580fps I don't have enough clicks or elevation on my scope to reach 100m. I am working on getting a .177 barrel for my Crown. But it is very expensive.
@@AimSmall ek soek raad asb.
A startling conclusion. You should have been around the UK Field Target scene in the late eighties, all the shooters were buying pellets in bulk once they found a dye number that suited their barrel. Your revelation is nothing new.
@@AimSmall I know which part of the video your refering to, 38:00, it appears to be slip of the tongue, English not being his first language. Pavel made a slip of the tongue (again English not his first language), the later I think is more likely.. Edit: they are still made in the same factory, same lead, same process just using there own dies.
@@lankymk 100% correct, they have their own dies, thus their own unique batches. The same for the FX pellets - own die set and more strict on weight tolerance. Same process, lead etc. Same shape etc. Just a different batch at the end of the day.
I have been down this road many years ago, and stepped up to heavy pellets, BISLEY MAGNUM, in 453!

Clipping the mod ?
@@garybillington2239 Don't think so, as the other pellets performed correctly over the specified distance
Awsome info iv noticed my gun no right but its a new batch of pellets back to drawing bord for me lol

Do you weigh your pellets ,i have found they are heaver than what it says on the tin.
After seeing those groups i think i owe my pellets an apology

Hi Gert. When will we see a video of the h&n .177 slugs at 50-100yards? Thanks

I believe your barrel is leading up or the hardness is an issue. Yes they are both made in the same factory but not with the same die set.
Correct, but the same lead is used... Go and have a look at this video... th-cam.com/video/-AAQzSkRZVg/w-d-xo.html

There's something seriously wrong with that hft500. These are the worst groups ive ever seen with that rifle.

To be honest mate all your groups at 50 yards were poor to say the least . I'd start by looking at your rifle , something definitely not right there !
