    Thank you for another interesting video Gert. Although my comment is slightly off your focus on the BC comparisons in .177,
    I felt the following may be of interest to some viewers.
    JSB 15.89 grain in the much underrated .20 cal, has one of the highest BC's of any skirted pellet... a whopping 0.047!

    That was,as usual, a great watch even for a non-techy guy like me. Have you considered reviewing either the Katran or Krait by AirMaks. These guns are getting some good reviews over here (🇬🇧) but it would be great to have your take on these 2 new “back packer” hunting air rifles. Love the Fx chrono; against my better judgement - as I thought - I was persuaded to buy one and once I figured out how to use it I went into Ghert mode on my own range at the farm testing every gun I owned - biblical rainfalls has now put a stop to all that🤷‍♂️.

      Great to hear, I have asked AirMaks to send me a gun or two to test and they politely declined. Unfortunately my budget doesn't allow me to buy them, I will ask around if anybody in our community has one they are willing to part with for a few days...

      @@AimSmall good luck🤞 - a pity AirMaks haven’t taken you up on your offer to review the guns because your reviews are really informative unlike some that are no more than a vague litany of likes and dislikes and self indulgent waffle that tells you precisely nothing. I’m in the market for a really light, compact, portable FAC rifle (🇬🇧) and while I’ve had a dozen or so FAC rifles over the years this new criteria is making it an interesting challenge. Keep doing what you’re doing Ghert 👍.

    Great episode. Awesome.
    But surely we can't use the manufacturer stated BC as it will vary depending on the rifle? If I put the reported bc into a calculator it's always higher than my actual results ... help 😂

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      BC has nothing to do with the rifle, BC is calculated once the pellet is outside of the rifle, it measures the actual projectile speed and trajectory. The thing that will make a difference is Temp, Humidity, Baromatreic pressure, air density and wind. Some of my testing had a better BC than the manufacturer.

    Are there any "sabot" pellets that could have better BC by discarding the "skirt"?

      I will have a look in the cubbert what else is available and test them.

    . informative as always. With your testing data available, did you look at pellet lenght vs BC?

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No I didn't, the Baracuda Green is the same lenght but only weighs 6.64gr, thus technicly speaking it should have had a better BC. Most 177 pellets are within microns in lenght (except the predators and those other weird pest control things), yes the lenght of the pellet can make a difference in the BC.

    How is the chronograph calculating bc without another speed at a specific distance down range ?

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I am using the FX True Ballistic Chrony, it has 2 chronographs build in, the the chrony 1 does the first reading, chrony 2 the 2nd reading, chrony 1 the 3rd reading and chrony 2 the 4th reading. More info on this chrony here th-cam.com/video/VWwBzs9S9P8/w-d-xo.html

    dear Small bro good day, do you question? You think .177 cal G1(hn, zan) or G7(Altaros slugs) accuracy?

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Viking Airgunner has done a lot of testing and shooting with the 177 slugs, I have given up, the 2 FX barrels I had and the one special build LW barrel didn't do it for me and cost me plenty bucks. Thus I have formally given up hope on 177 slugs. Just not worth it, you need enormous power and air to shoot them at a decent speed, very few guns can deliver this, and then they are very barrel sensitive, so you will probably spend some money on different barrels as well. For sub 12fpe - don't waste money, they come out of the barrel way too slow and then the wind catches you out. The 13gr showed promise, but again the gun setup - only the FX was able to generate enough power to shoot them at 960fps.

      @@AimSmall very thank dear. So .22 cal the best?

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kricketkricket6737 Yes, the 22 has a bigger body for the barrel to grip and put the spin on, the spin stabilizes the slug and thus better accuracy.

    Chart bc is G1 en true ballistic bc opgestel op GA in jou geval. Nou nie appels met appels vergelyking daai nie.

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The True ballistic can be setup for G1 as well, I used the recommended setting for pellets which is GA (Spoke to Roeld at Element to confirm that this is the most accurate for diabolo pellets in the True Ballistic chrony). So yes, I wasn't aiming to get the same results as the manufacturer due to the different weather and altitutde differences. In some cases I got better BC and in some worse. I was expecting that. Interesting that the manufacturers only use G1 which is technically not correct... In this case my chart might be more accurate.lol. There isn't any 100% correct BC measurement currently for pellets, which is a pity. I used these BC's to do my click chart for FT - up to 50m with 10.3gr JSB's and the click chart is 100% correct. Now I only need to find a way to get the nut behind the gun to practise and become better. Thanks for taking the time to comment, much appreciated, I love healthy feedback like this, it can only improve the shooting community's knowledge.

    To be politically correct you're not allowed to say BC anymore, it's now after centuries of use BCE so as not to offend someone 🤣. On a more serious note very interesting as I enjoy long range shooting with .177 which seems to scare most people.

    Those 0.177 bb guns...anything bellow 22 in pcp is not worth shooting these days unless 30 yards sub controlled environment...

      Different strokes for different folks, the UK market is verystrict and you need a gun lisence aobve 12 fpe, Hungury you need a lisence above 6fpe... I do a lot of pest control with my 177 in factories. They are quiet, very accurate and does the job. If your country has no issues with bigger calibers then go for the big stuff, I just did the video on .22 ballaistics, should be out next week, lots of editing to do.
