    So many people go to the range and just shoot. Trigger time is great but running drills is what honestly raises your skill level. Go to the range with a plan otherwise your just slinging lead without purpose. Great video Larry

    Glocks don't shoot left but we do...... it's most likely trigger control and/or finger pad placement. Finger pad placement test takes a couple of seconds and it can be slightly different for every gun. But definitely still great shooting.

    • @RomiWadaKatsu
      @RomiWadaKatsu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well yes it's all a bit relative, meaning that you can either do that, and familiarize with the gun, or adjust slightly the rear sight and keep shooting like you always did. It's a matter of choices and options available, of course if the g17 didn't allow you to adjust the sight it would all be about changing how you shoot with it, but it does, so that's an option too. The fact that with the sight alignment all of Larry's shots would be a perfectly centered with that kind of tweak kind of makes clear that the sight adjustment is the wisest way to go, as changing the way he handles the trigger could instead introduce other issues that would need adjusting (ie lessened perception of the trigger wall reset)

    • @TheShadowIsMine
      @TheShadowIsMine 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Or, hear me out, usually glocks shoot left because of the more aggressive grip angle. The more aggressive angle mean you have to to cant your support hand further forward to lock it in, if you dont your pistol will turn towards the weaker side sending your rounds left. Id be very interested to know if thats not it, why a glock would send rounds left when sights are dead on, that would be a terrible pistol.

      @@SuperBuzz71 so you're telling the one man in the world that can actually tell you if a Glock is shooting left that he is a bad shot? You are a special kind of stupid!

    • @SuperBuzz71
      @SuperBuzz71 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Abhishek Singh Actually there are a lot of people in the world that can tell you he is wrong, Glocks don't shoot low left because of the gun. But what do I know about Glocks? I have countless top 5 finishes in GSSF Glock matches all over the country including one overall match win shooting bone stock Glocks. I just shot the GSSF Gunny Challenge last week, invitational only annual Glock competition that included Blake Miguez. I have 6X perfect 500 scores in GSSF indoor matches which include 10rds timed at 25yds. But, I'm not an internet shooting "expert" making videos that often leans on excuses like some. And, I guess you know more about it than me from all your firsthand TH-cam experience. You must be a special kind of smart.

    • @AbhishekSingh-pp1ks
      @AbhishekSingh-pp1ks 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SuperBuzz71 Obviously Glocks right from the factory don't shoot left (with some exceptions). I think it is certainly possible that Larry's Glock is shooting left and he has to adjust the sights. My glock 34 started shooting high right for some reason and I adjusted the sights and it was fine. One of my G19s came from the factory with the rear sight all the way to the left and I tapped it to the right and it hit steel at 75 yards easily. My point is that Larry's Glock in particular might be shooting left. Many of my Glocks shot left from the factory and I know it isn't a trigger control issue since I can pick up a stock M&P and it will hit dead center. It is certainly plausible that Larry's Glock is shooting left.

    • @jessiethacker9022
      @jessiethacker9022 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just finished my LE Pistol Qual with an issued G17 and it shot slightly left through the entire course. The Armorer refused to adjust the sights and blamed it on my trigger control. I compensated by aiming slightly right of center and ended up shooting 100s on both Day and Night Combat Courses, 100s on both Night Qual Courses and a 100 and 99.6 on the Day Qual Courses.

    • @ParabolicBox
      @ParabolicBox 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's your trigger control. The overtravel on a Glock trigger is unkind to less-than-perfect follow-through. If you put more finger on the trigger, you can mitigate some of it.

    • @jessiethacker9022
      @jessiethacker9022 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Naw we put it in pistol vice when the class was over and it was hitting 4 inches to the left at 25 yds. Dosent seem like a lot but when the bullseye is 3 inches across it is the difference in getting Top Gun and struggling to qualify.

Just because he owns his own company and has his own TH-cam channel doesn't mean that everything he says is true. Again.. he knows it's not true. Beautbag Carcillo B8(p) is the full size 25 yard pistol target, it has a 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 and 5 ring, the B8c is a replacement center for the B8p, it has a 10, 9, 8 and 7 ring. So either will work, both the same size bull, but the B8c's are cheaper, easier to store/lug around and work better if using IDPA type targets.

    It appears Vickers is left eye dominant. Shooting with the right hand and being left eye dominant does play a factor in this to me as well. In my case, I have to adjust the sights to shoot correctly.
    That being said. His group is better then most people here myself included. I don't care if its "left" the target. At 20 yards, and being a retired veteran. That's pretty darn good. I have no right to tell him how to improve anything. If fixing his sights causes him to hit where he wants. Well crap. Let him. His group was consistent.

      I agree. I am similar to LAV in the aspect of cross dominant hand/eye. Left hand/ right eye for me. But my rifle skills are all right handed. Can be an advantage when transitioning from primary to secondary weapon. With practice.

      It was 10 yards not 20 and with lots of practice almost anyone can pass this test. It's all about time and availability of resources.

      FoulPet these are basic drills ordinary people at home can recreate. I’m sure their pro drills are more intense. Why don’t you post your performances online?

    Nice shooting! I'm always wondering on whether to lock your arms/shoulders in a fully extended position VS taking a more relaxed arms position and just focusing on maintaining the front sight on target. It seems like I have more stability locking out but that can lead to mashing my trigger due to my muscles being much more tense.

    Great shooting, but I think these "experts" forgot the first fundamental of combat drills. Be in good physical condition! Larry of course gets a pass. He explained in one video that it's difficult because of his long list of injuries, and he has every right to say so. We all know he's a great American with honorable and brave service. To be honest, I'm just nitpicking and cracking jokes at the older guys. The man with the awesome stache was a SSG I believe, not sure about the other one. He's the fattest in the group so we'll just call him Ned Beatty. That's a deliverance reference, do you get it?? Great vid Larry, and thank you for your great service and leading the way for the soldiers of my generation!

      If your around certain Tier One operators you’ll notice it’s just a part of their slang. If your around Seals you’ll hear them say “No worry’s”. It’s their thing. But that is also a psychological tool used to manage stress. And a reminder not to sweat the Small shit.

    Hahaha "my gun's shooting a little left". Glocks DO NOT shoot left. It's TRIGGER CONTROL. Vickers just doesn't want to admit he needs to work on trigger control. There's no harm in admitting it. Shooting skills are perishable. That's why I respect advanced shooters/instructors that admit their flaws. Not blame it on the gun.

      IanDinBC for those too slow to follow, I'll type slowly - lots of people (due to poor technique) shoot Glock pistols low left, or low right and the majority of the time it IS technique. Larry Vickers, Ken Hackathorn , and Super Dave aren't in that group because all 3 of them are or were instructors for and/or members of Delta (CAG, or whatever it is this week). They have all had access to unlimited ammunition budgets - think about getting paid to shoot tens of thousands of rounds for years. They are all additionally championship competition shooters, Ken and Larry helped create IDPA. All have taught more real life hard core shooters how to shoot than most of you have seen on TV. They aren't screwing up trigger pulling.
