My good friends Super Dave Harrington and Ken Hackathorn joined me at the range to discuss some of the different models of handguns employed by Special Operations Units from around the world. This is from an episode of TAC-TV Season 2. In Pt. 1 we give a quick overview of the guns we will be discussing and doing drills with in this episode.

The Browning high power should be held with the same reverence as the 1911: it’s a real work of art

I always carried two micro uzis when I was in Delta. But that was years ago. Now I'm a Texas ranger.

Old guys saying bro makes me smile and cringe at the same time.

The Sig P226 Mk 25 is my "friend." Never jams, accurate, light.

Says in the real world most pistols are used defensively, however the majority of homicides are committed via handgun.

I was around for the transition to the M9 and carried one as my primary duty weapon for many years. I also shot on the pistol team. In those days we had to document every round fired due to the slide issue. The slide issue came from special operators using ammo not recommended for the M9 which caused some cracks to occur in the slide. The M9 is a fine weapon and never actually had anything wrong with it.

I love seeing people analyze the evolution of firearms and hearing what goes in to decisions regarding what becomes "the next thing" in terms of something as simple as being a few ounces lighter or everything being suppressor ready now from the go.

I’ve watched a lot of films and I’ve had the pleasure of making a few. Whoever edited this video did an outstanding job. BZ. - Nick

of all of them, my favorite is the sig 226. my local gun shop always gets navy issue 226's in stock. some with rmr's, some with threaded barrels, some with trident seals. they have more character than the others as they stand out more with their markings and that is why i like them

carried the 1911, the M9, a Sig 220 on active duty. Wound up going with the P226 as my personal handgun. Don't know why I just like it. 23 years total for Uncle Sam. Edited my thought now was why, and I realized I trusted the no safety setup and the hi capacity of the 226.
