The Bill Drill was created by Wilson Combat founder Bill Wilson, and the 666 Drill is a modified drill that is great for conceal carry practice. Take these drills to range and practice and send us your feedback.

    "in the middle of a gunfight" yes, I agree with you, but wouldn't call it stupid depending the the situation, i.e.: You just cleared one room, still have bullets left in the mag, but it's not full. You do a tactical reload to put a full mag on the gun so you're ready for the next room.
    Then again, the mag is not dropped on the ground. It's slower, but done when a room is cleared. If you had to reload because you emptied your mag while firing, then yes, an emergency reload is the proper drill.
    Last thing I would add, is that it gets pretty convenient to count rounds, and do a speed reload with the last round in the chamber. That's the best way, but I realize that in the real world with stress, an individual is probably not going to keep the count. That's when emergency reload happens!
    Great video!

    Why in the world, in the middle of a gunfight, would you run your gun bone dry on purpose? ...Because you trained IDPA instead of USPSA

      If you can't see why you would dump a mag with one or two rounds left for a full one, then perhaps it isn't IPSC that's stupid.

    • @Xboxblowz
      @Xboxblowz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well although you have an idea of how many rounds you have left realistically your going to go bone dry the only reason you wouldnt is if you are going into another situation that you would tactical reload and youde be ready to go but also why would you purposely leave ammo in a mag thats just more unloading and putting those rounds in another mag or accidentally throwing a mag with 3 rounds into your weapon and if your in a firefight you cant afford that to happen

    So True LAV and Ken. Outside your comfort zone to pump up the blood pressure and possibly learn something. Crazy how just adding a timer will pump up the shooter, even if the times are way long.

    Larry, We did drop the IPSC reload. I taught with Col. Cooper from 97 thru 2000 and we taught only the Combat, or Speed reload, and the Tactical. Enjoyed the video.

    A few days ago I did a vid of myself shooting the Test, one of the best pistol drills there is, I think it would be awesome if LAV did a vid where he explains it and goes a little into the history of the drill.

    As always, it's context-specific. If you're a civilian and engaging one threat, you're probably not going to be engaged for long enough to need to reload. If, however, you're an operator on CQB operations, there's a higher chance of facing multiple threats and therefore a greater need for combat reloads. There's also a greater chance an operator will be able to adequately count rounds than your average civilian carrier, and so the amount of rounds dropped probably won't be that high. If they reload 3 or 4 rounds into a full magazine, chances are there's a hiatus in combat, in which case they'll have time to throw it in their dump pouch anyway, so the rounds aren't exactly 'wasted'.

    I wish to God on my guns can be updated or upgraded 2 NE Wilson Combat system Wilson Combat throughout the whole gun or guns I love Wilson Combat Wilson Combat combat is basically the best of the best you have a Wilson Combat transformation to your gun looks like you have a totally different gun and I love wasn't come back especially the full Wilson Combat 92 FS also the 1911 Wilson Combat Edition that we about to see right now!... And every other gun he can do or they can do or you could do yourself!...

    well, i better reload in a fight (- whenever i already shot some rounds and have the opportunity-) instead of jumping around a corner (me or the bad guy, doesnt matter), shoot one shot, miss it and SLIDELOCK! There you go! .... oh, and a 4 sec. Billdrill is a joke, even from concealment. THAT SHIT WILL GET YOU KILLED IN THE STREETS! :D

    I think it'd be cool to modify the 666 drill by inducing a malfunction instead of a reload. Maybe use a dummy round.

      Yeah, just to pile on douche sabre.......LAV has trained more Tier 1 operators than anyone else while in CAG at Ft. Bragg. You're an avid X-boxer, and even if you shot IPSC, that's not a two-way range. Genius.

      Interesting how everyone attacked you. He’s no noob, that’s for sure. I agree that his pistol skills aren’t very impressive with the standards that are being set today. 2 sec bill drill is the gold standard now and a lot of people get 2.6 or better.
