i think if i were to buy that machine.. id have them put a 10 ton ram on it and see if they can add 1 more belt to the circle saw. otherwise it does its job.. keep the videos rolling. 😊
hi archie.... yes its a fast machine,, but would drive me crazy to operate, your point about questioning processing small or crooked wood is well made, chip it or use for boiler,,,,, as you say time is money,,,, best of luck
That machine is a speed devil. I agree with you, that this ram is underpowered for 6 way logs. I like the electric powersource for an operation like yours and the PTO option for on-site operation . Ideal for if you rent the machine or yourself and the machine out to small clearing jobs. A disadvantage of the pto option is that a machine that could potentially be used to load a logdeck or to feed logs to the machine directly is occupied powering the machine. That would mean you need a separate option for feeding the machine. In such a situation a separate powersource would be preferable.
(As someone not in the trade at all) I'm a bit surprised that there is not software to adjust the cut length so that each log is cut into useable lengths with none of those small roundels which you have to put into a second return stream. That would mean telling it that log length +/- 50mm would be acceptable. Tell it the overall length of the feed log and it adjusts to make full use of the feed stock.
It's a lovely machine archie but it was painful to watch why put a 6 ton ram in something that needs a 8 ton ram it don't make sense if it can't do it just put the right ram in the machine. Was there no videos this week nice one archie thanks 👍
I guess where the machine is produced, they dont process any hardwoods. Just beach and pine, like most Scandinavian countries. Seems to be the main issue with the processors from there
Hi archie it's a nice machine could do with a 10 ton ram great video looking forward to seeing what you have planned for your oversized logs

That would be cool
Even with a 10 tonne ram I think it would struggle with timber that does not have a straight grain splitting 6 way particularly if its partly seasoned
@richardmaddaford7919 idk.. Would be better than what is on it tho.

Impressive machine 😊 Fast, accurate 👍

Greetings Archie from me in New Zealand. A nice machine but it needs the 8t ram
Yes it does!
Great looking machine 🇳🇿❤️

Yes you can on the very big automated processors. But you need a form of measuring the log before you start the first cut
I’d put a 10 or 12 ton ram in it. Better to have to much power than maybe just enough
Good evening Archie, just a thought. Why are you not running both processing machines. Wouldn't that double your production daily, Joe Capo.
Only one timber deck, lack of staff and NOT behind on production
I must be the only one here who thinks this machine is a lot of money for something that can only cut 30cm diameter logs
Needs the 8 ton ram.
Do you know the cost of it?
I didn’t ask sorry it was just on for a demo

I agree with you, sorry for no videos very busy!!

Way too much work no matter what you say, very bad performer. Too much stopping and starting. At 8K no thank you.
