- This video is about Four Jeeps VS my Land Rover Discovery 2... It's been 8 years since this event with this guy's! Now I live in ATL and they are down in florida and we are talking right now for a final match video. Right now they are running 38' tires fully build jeeps, transfer cases 4-1, lockers, 8" lifts Kit's and more vs my modified land rover on 35" Pitbull tires and a 4'' lift and ARB lockers.... Stay tuned for the future videos on this channel!!!! Make sure to subscribe and Hit the like Button =) Enjoy the video!!
I loved your video. I’m a former Land Rover/Range Rover guy...now I have a 2018 Jeep JL Rubicon Unlimited. I had Rovers for over 25 years, but after years...and I mean YEARS...of rotating them in and out of the service garage and 10’s of thousands of dollars, I simply got beaten down. I love Rover and and I love Jeep, especially my brand new RUBICON!
And you think a jeep will be more reliable ??
What a fool you are
Biggest load of SHIT I ever owned 💩💩💩
Ive been a automotive technician for the past 15 years and I see more Land Rover products taking a a crap over any other 4x4 product so I would have to say yes they are much more reliable then a rover
I'm a Disco 2 TD5 driver (soon to be Disco 4) so I'm a bit biased .. but I'd have to say .. these Jeep drivers appeared to be not very good drivers.
They should have all been able to easily get up those climbs.
Hears a little tip .... use the right gear and DON'T floor it. It not about thumping great loads of power ... it's about technique.
It's not fair when the only guy that knows hw to 4x4 is the one with the best car (Land Rover), it's like stealling candy´s from babies..... LOL
Although the Discovery has a superior traction control system I credit a lot of the success of the Discovery to superior driving skills.
Land Rover traction control system vs the Jeeps' open diffs is like Kramer taking karate classes with kids.
Reminds me of the one time I showed up in Moab, got laughed at with my stock Discovery 2 and then smoked them all. For some reason those Discos are amazing off road vehicles. They have plenty of other problems, but off road, great.
They'd be more respected if it wasnt so unreliable. I'd love to drop a ls6 v8 in mine.
@4The2nd those stock wranglers have open diffs. A discovery will mop the floor with a stock wrangler from the same era. They only had open riffs back then, the discovery had full time 4wd gear driven transfer case with center diff lock and traction control. You just put it in drive and go. They dont get hung up and spon one front tire and one rear tire like the jeep unless the traction control fails. Stock for stock though a wrangler wont do what a discovery II will do unless you at least fit a rear diff locker.
@@myrongaines5542 mine has been wheeled alot since I've had it and it's been trouble free. Only common issues they have are warped heads if you overheat them, which is easily fixed by swapping out the stock 190 degree thermostat for a 180 degree one from a diesel version. The abs/hill descent/traction control aka 3 amigos is also a cheap easy fix. The abs units have a bad solder joint where the harness plugs into the board. You just cut the brown wire on the shuttle valve switch, run one end to ground, the other end to the yellow wire on the harness and replace the shuttle valve seals for good measure and problem solved. That and upgrade the front driveshaft to a Tom woods and you'll have no problems. I'm hard on mine, very hard on it and it's never let me down.
@4The2nd has nothing to do with being brand oriented. I'm speaking of vehicles from that era. Jeeps had open diffs and no lockers then. The discovery has better articulation and the traction control system make it superior. Of course it wont compete with the Rubicon, thats their best version, they have diff lockers and sway bar disconnect as well as larger offroad tires. I've had both an XJ and Discovery and my uncle had a wrangler. Neither matched the discovery offroad. I speak from years of experience. Yes a Land Cruisers with the optional diff lockers will go further and be more reliable on top of that. So will a Nissan Patrol. The advantage the disco has over those two is a shorter wheelbase and that's only for break over angle. The discoverys shorter wheelbase gives it a better break over angle than any other 4 door suv with the same height, however the departure angle is the Achilles heel in the Discovery II because of how they extended the rear end. And some obastacles favor long wheelbase, some short wheelbase vehicles,
@4The2nd and as far as getting hung up, unlike the jeep, the land rovers underpinnings are above the frame rails and dont hang below like the jeep, and having both diffs on the same side is good because of the front diff plows a path the rear goes right thru that same path. Bottom line they all have strengths and weaknesses. If I bought a jeep it would be a Rubicon, not just for the diff lockers but the sway bar disconnect for more articulation.
Boy those jeeps are working hard aren't they!?!? On the rev limiters, breaking axles. Over here in the Panhandle of Florida we had the 3rd Annual Sand Rover Rally down in South Walton County. Mostly a Rover event but some jeeps showed up. I saw an old CJ5 get towed out of the woods, a wrangler got sunk in a mud hole that every rover at the event made it threw, and a Cherokee was broke down at the one trail head with the hood open and three guys wrenching on it! Not one Rover broke, only one Rover got stuck!!! Best 4x4 By Far!!!
Hahah Yeah men and the story don't end here, Remember the guy from the green jeep and the guy with the brown jeep from this video? after this trip they sold those jeeps and buy discovery 2 just like mine and the guy with the cherokee almost get a disco 2 Hahahahhaha
+Land Rover Zone Hello, my name is Jack, I'm a recovering jeep owner myself. I'm on step 6 of the 12 step program. I own a 03 d2, lifted, bumpers, 33's!!! :)
+RedEyed Jack jajajajajajaja you see!!!
New Video!!! there on my channel! LOL
RedEyed Jack To be fair if they engaged thier brain before releasing the clutch they would make much better progress.
Cooool!!! I was just wondering after looking at used 1st generation Discos how well these vehicles handle. I knew they had a reputation for being rather confident on demanding trails but this is impressive.
Arin Robinson watch the lates videos of this truck on my channel!
Must be a jeep guy who pitched his tent so close to the fire lol
Steve Kay hahaha
Xd
Exactly! Nuts
Bust bumper sticker ever. "I know all about your Jeep thing. That's why I drive a Land Rover".
A few years ago I had a moderately modified Disco II and all my friends had Jeeps, every time we went off roading I had to tow one of them back. Jeeps are cool and inexpensive, but they're not as well made as Land Rovers and certainly not as cool.
NorMI Living my fiat panda is more reliable than a Range Rover
Forever In Automotive Trouble.... or
Fix It Again Tony
Because u never had a jeep maybe .....😆😆😆
@@DakotaRaymond1999 it depends a lot on the engine. Jaguar engine is pretty solid
Hahaha I think I'll stick with my LR3, Every Jeep I see in the UK seems to get stuck, LR are very good in the mud because in England that's all we have is rain and mud. Landrover is designed for our farmers and it's all they use.. just saying..
Lr4 stuck in 2 in of snow here. Sad
💪🏼😉
@@bowtech1020 How? you cant get a honda civic stuck in 2 inches of snow unless you have super bad tires
its not the vehicles fault, its the driver. the rover is taking it slow and walking it, the jeeps are flooring it, full rev, ...... spinning the tires is not getting traction, the slow and steady rover driver kept all traction by driving nice and calm.
TheFassold
yeah right when the jeeps fold its the driver, vif the land rover fails its because of unreliability hahaha,
LAND ROVER IS PROVEN CHAMPION
TheFassold. those jeeps wouldn't make it slow either because they only spin 1 front and 1 rear tire. only way they would make it is with lockers. The suspension travel on these particular jeeps suck.
I think those jeeps are Manual transmission, can't really go slow and steady without stalling
Yea they were being oddly aggressive. I thought it was a staple for off road enthusiasts to take it slow and steady. Interesting to see that when one doesn't that the implications are damage to the vehicle and the driver's ego.
Proper vehicle, proper driving, proper job :-)
I constantly school the rover club in my yj, they were more built too and they got tired of my jeep making them look stupid on boring trails they struggled with so the relationship ended. Now my zj embarrasses them even more. Their too top heavy, too tippy, 0 flex even with a lift and by far the most brutal trail drive my wife and I ever had the miss fortune of experiencing. We had headaches for a week, and that's vs a yj lol. Oh, 7 years hard/extreme rated trails never stuck once, no wench and drive home every time. Countless broken axles on the discos though, not to mention many other things I fixed for them after every run. We'll bring a medic for you guys and our jeep and see how that vid turns out. You couldn't pay us enough to suffer through another trail in a LandRoller, don't worry we'll be nice and pull you out:)
find some jeep drivers that actually know how to opperate the vehicle propperly
digg dogg I been trying men but so far nothing yet lol... Watch one of my last videos call jeep vs Georgia snow ❄️ lol
They don't even know how to to operate the lockers.
air down, low range, crawl up like a boss. Or be a complete idiot and floor it like a jeep guy. hahahahaa.
I love how the jeep guys just hammer the gas and pray.
Land Rover... Best 4x4xFar...
JUKE179r JEEP just expect eternal problems
Yeah you know that 😎
@@Sockeye2013 hahahaha land Rover fans complaining about Jeep reliability.
I feel like I'm in some sort of Twilight zone. Both are monumental piles of shite when it comes to reliability.
I know it's been 3 years since this video was made and I am a Land Rover man, but I'm going to call shenanigans here, there is no way a Jeep is that bad off road. I run into a bunch of Jeeps on the trails and usually can out wheel them with my 04 D2 Mine is sitting on 32's and will walk the dog on lifted Jeeps with lockers and 35's But the Jeep guys in this video just suck, if I were the owner of the white or bronze Jeeps I would have left them in the woods and walked home..
Jason Taylor hahahahahaha yeah, it was the driver and also the jeeps men. This video was made on 2008 but it’s way good 😂🥳🎉🎊
Only reason i bought a winch is to get jeeps unstuck...discovery 2 modded
That's why I'm a disco II owner. There's very little competition for the Land Rover capabilities. It was designed to dominate the competition. Better luck next time primos 😂
I have a Land Rover Discovery 1 1992 model. All standard with no modifications and still would for sure take all these trails in the video easily. Jeep owners, remember, you've got one life to live. ONE LIFE , DISCOVER IT (with a landy obviously) ... well done #Land Rover Zone
Impressive driving from your point of view! Flawless pretty much! Seems like the other drivers didnt get the "as less gas as possible,as much as needed" offraod principle lol
Heiliger Jesus Lol they are just retards! They were on 4x4, never lower pressure tire since they said jeeps don’t need to air down like Land Rover Guys 😂 and I was like ok! You will see🤣! They learn their lesson that time thrust me
Air Lockers are what made the difference, if the Jeeps had them fitted as well then the outcome would had been similar to your Diso.
crazyt1ger08 very true, but even though the disco doesnt have any lockers, that traction control system works great. it doesn't take away any engine power. just sends power to the wheels that have traction. much better than a part time 4wd system
Only centre diff lock in 99-2001 models. No lockers in 2002- models.
No rear lockers as stock.
Just traction control, LAND ROVER TRACTION CONTROL.
crazyt1ger08 Disco don't got air lockers.
The car is stock muppet
viscous coupler
I get the impression the Jeep driver have no off road talent at all. Fat tyres don't equate to grip. They actually reduce ground pressure so limit grip. Flotation, yes, on the required surface, grip, not necessarily.
Dartmoor Dave the Land Rover driver has less experience off roading and bald tires. Like 5% tread in the front tires and. 2% tread on rear tires... The key here was that the driver of the rover lower the tire pressure at 3psi and the jeeps were running full pressure 😂 they didn't want to lower pressure lol
I take that tread depth isn't a road legal requirement then? Why would you attempt any comparison with bald tyres? Who would off road with bald tyres in the first place.
I suspect that the Jeep guys, having fitted oversize tyres, hadn't bothered to alter their final drive ratios, so effectively undid what development work was done by the factory to make these things halfway decent off-road. But you're right, bigger tyres are not necessarily the answer in so many situations. Driver skills are! I assume from your "name" that you have a connection with Dartmoor. I grew up there back in the '50s and '60s
Does the discoverys have factory diff locks or do we have to buy some aftermarket?
Juggernaut SecurityK9 some models comes with central diff lock! The 04 comes with the central difflock plus the tracción control. Doesn’t come with Front or read differential lockers, but they are very capable off roading
@@landroverzone9824 do they sell aftermarket locks? I'm guessing yes. I've got a factory turbo diesel 80 series landcruiser. We use for holidays and stuff but I don't want to push it to far with the 80 because it's my wife's favourite all time favourite car. 4x4. Etc. So we just have it set up like for moderate stuff. Bull bar, 2 inch lift. 265 AT's, snorkel. Rack. Lights. Etc. So I'm chasing down a second 4x4 I've had pretty much everything like GQ patrols and 80's and 105's and pajeros. I'm thinking land rover this time. I like that they can be tuned etc. I recon after moving past the whole what's "The best" or what's "in thing" in 4x4 world I can now make an educated desicion and nowadays I honestly feel like the TD5 and the 04 pajero both in turbo diesel are the better truck. More able. I never thought I'd say that but the more I research this the more true it becomes. I watched videos of pajero club days and their all going threw this obstacle course and then at the end the cruisers and patrols come threw it and they cannot do it?? And same deal with the Land rovers their getting threw everything with ease And then along comes the GU patrol and it's stuck within 20 seconds..? So I'm thinking I'm going to try something different and save some money at the same time and get a land rover as a second 4x4/toy that I can do whatever I want to it and not have the stress I'm going to brake it like I do with my wife's 80. Like I won't go over 2 inch lift in the 80 because I don't want to bend my transmission. I won't get any larger then 265 because it wrecks everything from power steering to transmission and diffs. I won't go threw to much of mud because it blows alternators.. unlike pajeros which have the alternater up high the cruisers alternators are shit and sit low and blow from 1 days worth of playing in mud. So yeah I'm liking these land rovers.
The Jeeps in this video are "designed" to be a show off in a city. Fancy tires and cool headlamps will have cafe boys talking over their cappuccinos or lattes, but won't necessarily get you over a hill. In my country we have a saying: "a bad dancer will even blame the parquet floor for his failure". The Jeep guys' act would have probably even ruined a tank.
AghashQ Lol awesome comment! The Paquet floors hahahahahahahahaha 🤣
My mate has a 2017 Wildtrack and a jeep, Both got bogged in sand and overheated, guess who towed them out? Yep a 2003 Td5 series 2 discovery. Love it.
Iam not an offroad driver but that land rover made the jeeps look like fiat 500s Well done Land Rover thinks I
Killer looks but gentle inside😂
Everyone that is running to the rescue of the cheeps failure, you seem to forget WHY this happened. Because the cheep drivers said the Landy COULD NOT DO IT. So, the event occurred and you witnessed the end result. Sure, The D2 is newer, that does not detract from the fact that they all said, Land Rover cant do it'. It did, now suck it up princesses and enjoy the 4x4 community, no matter what breed of beasty you drive.. 'D1 and D3' owner driver here :) Great video, glad no one was hurt whilst being shamed ;). Peace
The great thing about Land Rover is the combination of capability and luxury. If I had enough money and knew enough about them. I would always choose Land Rover. Strictly because of the luxury factor. But that's just me.
JP Oner They are very simple to work on men, it’s just a buik engine with a bosh ignition system

As a 2000 D2 owner, I think there is much bias here. The Jeep owners are horrible off road drivers. A Stock Rubicon would wipe the floor with a D2. A D2 (with its electronic braking traction control actually working) is a decent offroad vehicle. The Rubicon is on another level altogether.

Big bucks for those rovers.
I just love the way how the jeep owners are bringing in their own "expert" opinions, but they just don't realise how better are Discovery 2s. They not only have solid axles front and rear, but also better traction controls and a suspension system that maintains both stability and wheel articulation. Most of those "experts" who give negative remark about Discovery 2 reliability, have never even owned one of those beasts. For many owners they have proven to be reliable as hell with proper care while being taken through the wild bushlands. Haters will be haters.
Too funny, I usually feel the same way in my 2000 Suburban when I go wheeling with Rubicon and Tacoma owners that just want to show off but never been off road.
I have a Disco II like yours great to see what they can really do as I havent taken mine off-road extreme yet
Were those jeeps even in the right gear? Why do they need to gun them that much?
Papis and their 4x4’s
Yeah! Awesome.
Bigger tyres and lifts do help in some off-road situations But have always believed experiences play a bigger part when it comes to off-roading.
Uteopia Check out my lates videos on that same Rover !!! Cheers 🍻
This make me smile...
I am not sure if Jeeps suck or their owners just can't drive, but this is hilarious to me. Then again I am a Rover guy, with a yard full of P38s and a disco2. oh yeah also a 64 scout. Yes I love to wheel.

Land Rover off road philosophy; "As slow as possible, as fast as necessary." Jeep; 2nd gear and pin it!
This video speaks very poorly of the offroad experience (lack of) of the guys in the Jeeps. Not only their driving experience, but not knowing how to properly modify the Jeeps to get over obstacles. None of the Jeeps in the videos come factory equipped with traction control, which in this case would've made up for bad driving. That and airing down. No need for oversize tires here. Btw, I drive both a Jeep and a Disco 2.
Brute Force versus intelligence
Nice video, but calm down a little with the 'lols' etc...
Classic :)
Steve Hart :)
The disco has traction control and a ton of weight so gravity keeps all 4 tires on the ground. A Jeep with open diffs is light and like a car. Furthermore if you don’t know how to pick a good line then MTs won’t even help you. Gunning it up a slope is only necessary if you don’t have 4WD.
Oh by the way, these tracks are like the 2wd entry tracks at the front gates to the 4x4 places in Australia.. those guys =RIP in Australian bush bahahaha
We had same problem in middle east. The jeeps were always breaking down. Defenders pulled them back to civilisation!
Pick the right line keep steady on the gas and off needed use momentum
@yjjeeper1 Here’s another video of my rover beating 4 jeeps
This is just called putting a good instrument in the hands of the non experience workers. You will get a ZERO work out put. How do those Jeep drivers think the alliance army won the second world war in a jeep if they can not climb even a small hill with those jeeps?. Drunk drivers in Jeeps. Bravo to the discovery driver, good job. I live in Finland and if one drives a jeep like that in Finnish winter you will end up in many hospitals, not just one.
It's funny how the drivers try 8 or more times the same thing to get uphill and wonder why it won't work : -)
Offroad Channel bcs they are driving Jeeps that’s why hahahahahahahaha Cheers Mate!!!!
So I am an arm chair off roader, because i don't own one and don't have the nuts to do any of this. So take it as that, but from my novice view why are all the jeeps going max speed? It seems like blowing a motor driving like that might be possible. Also from driving a crappy Honda with like 2" in college in Utah. A lot of times I could not make it to the house we rented. But in found I could also make it in the snow if in turned my tires right to left as it gave me more grip. Still ended up walking home the last block. But wouldn't this be a technique applied here as well? I really don't know so I am asking. Also why do the Jeeps bounce off their rev limiter? Like what's advantage do you get going fast? Vs Land rover slow? I just watch these videos as I would be too scared myself but just hoped an expert offroader dude or Jeep chick might chime if you have some time
Good thing that jeep has a snorkel

I'm a disco owner but I'm interested in wether or not the disco in this video has diff locks, if so the vehicle isn't standard as LR didn't include them in the late disco pre face and face lift. If it doesn't have them, great victory LR
Little Bull if it's standard as he said there are no lockers on the axles and not all disco 2s had centre diff locks. So yeah if standard car, well done. And on normal at tyres too. I think he spins up a wheel on the first hill so probably is standard.

Um… it’s not the cars…. It’s the drivers!
Speak no more! I’ve had four different keeps and 3 different fords. I’ve had an cherokee, wrangler and commander. Fords I’ve had a navigator, explorer, and LR3. All bought brand new. I’m telling you nothing beats a rover off roading and an explorer especially the newer ones are pretty amazing as well when off roading. My navigator was a beast too... off roading always goes to The rovers. I’ve also seen them beat four runners and cruisers as well and subarus. My ranger (and Navi) has crawled up icy slopes, my Land Rover has taken me places I thought I was going to die. I thought they would flip or sink or never get across the creek in thick mud. Wrong!!! They crawl through any terrain like it’s a boss
My disco is the best truck I have ever owned I love it
The Jeeps in that video brand new were 17-23K and are completely out classed by the more expensive Land Rover. They have no computer added traction control system and all open diffs. In that era (late 90s early 2000s) of Jeeps and Land Rovers, the Discovery was far superior. However, these same Jeeps with the Rubicon package would have out performed the Discovery, but at a price since they ran 30K new. While still cheaper than the Discovery, they were no longer not half or less the price. The newish JK series has an electronic traction control system close to the Discovery, but far superior mechanical systems. The JK Rubicons with the 3.6L dominate anything that Land Rover has in terms of off road. The new JL Wranglers kick it up another notch as Land Rover has ceded its off road leadership in favor of luxury.
Barry Raymond Lol bro, look at the most recently video of the Jeep vs snow that I just uploaded
I live in Texas. I have a limited knowledge of ice and snow. However, I didn't see your traction control kick in on the hill, you just walked right up. Some combination of tires, snow fall, weight, and pedal discipline helped you get over that ice. I don't think your Land Rover applied any magic in this case.
Barry Raymond Did you watch the entire video all the way to the end? Did you hear the Jeep? Did you see the smoke cloud? I was on low gear while the Jeep was fully “locked front and rear locker” and still never pass half way of the driveway lol.. I know my traction control never kick in and I walk all the way up with out a problem.
Yep. I saw it. Your tires and weight worked better in that situation than the Jeep. If all four tires are moving and the Jeep is not, there is no traction to be had, while your discovery had traction the entire time. However, the secret sauce of the land rover is the TCS which didn't come into play in this case. Your land rover simply had traction and the Jeep was fully locked and did not have traction. The difference is not the vehicle in the sense that one is better than the other, something was different between the rim and the ice. If there was any traction to be had for the Jeep, then full lock would have found it. Your tires had traction without any fancy Land Rover magic. What tires were you running vs the Jeep? This looks like a AT tire that is designed for cold weather and maybe even has a snowflake symbol on it vs old school mud tires, which are a terrible in bad weather since they lack sipes.
Barry Raymond My tires? Maxxis trepadors, good for mud rocks off road etc but not for winter or snow. The Jeep is running 35”s All terrain
proper engine with the right torque and traction control....VS non locked diffs + no clue how to drive....simple math.
Henrique Lima I was on bald 30” tires 😁🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽... Jeeps on 35”
Tire size had nothing to do with this hill climb, though. Ground clearance didnt seem to be an issue for any of the vehicles.
I also have a disco 2. Awesome car. But those tyres are bigger than the stock ones. And you know a disco 2 with 29” Is like any other one with 37"🤣🤣. Cheers. Good driving
D Lopez It's hard to tell but is stock size not 255 65 16?
Standard 265/65/16...run 235/85/16 on mine equals 33" tall but has narrower than stock get better grip ...02 face lift centre diff lock and goes where ever point it tc alone you'll get stuck but centre diff lock and tc makes them almost unstoppable side slopes are tricky back end too long slides away
@@MrBopper666 std in europe is 235/70/16 or 255/55/18. That’s 29”.
235/85/16 is 31.7”, so 32”. A 33” would be 255/85/16 or 285/75/16.
So you’re going with less than you think. 33” would improve it even more.
35” is too much for a disco 2 if you don’t change a lot of stuff(+3” or 4” lift, some panel cutting, some more rim offset, and reinforced shafts and cv joints to be 100% safe)…
Cheers
@@captainchaos3053. Hi. Excuse me for the delay.
255/65/16 would be equivalent to those 235/70/16 they use in Europe.
So yes, it could be the stock one in the U.S. That’s still 29”.
The disco in the video is using some 32” I believe. They look like 265/75/16 or could even be some 33”. But they look a bit small to be 33”(they would rub a lot more the panels everywhere I believe).
It also looks like the car has a 2” or 5mm susp lift, being it longer springs or spacers under the springs and rear airbags(rear could be springs as well depending on the model).
It’s almost stock in the sense that you just throw those 32”s in and lift with spacers just a bit so it doesn’t rub.
Add some width to the axles and a center diff lock and you have an awesome rig.
Put 33”, front and rear lockers and reinforced shafts and cv joints and you’ll have one hell of a beast.
Go for 35” and some panel cut(don’t lift it more if not extremely necessary) and the thing will be among the best cars you’ll drive in your life, road and offroad…
Cheers
The DISCO advantage is that it’s a lot heavier than those two
Michael Villalpando Finally someone figure it out!!! 🤣🍻🍻🥓🙋🏻♂️
I’m on my second Land Rover the first one I had was a 2003 HSE fully loaded and now my second one is a disco 2 2001 i’m in the process of re-store and full Baja kit
Awesome bro!!! Send me some pictures when you finish it!!!
Were you filming a Sargeant Bilko episode?
Do they have a low range gearbox, or is this the first time these muppets got behind the wheel? I've never seen a car trying to get wheelspin at the start of a climb before!!!
To be fair the jeep drivers dont have a clue , i often drive past most other makes in my D1 300tdi auto and could not ask for a more reliable 4wd
pete ryan Mine it’s been with me 11 years and never letme down at all men, watch my lates video!!!
Freedom of choice. Buy and enjoy It’s all about out the adventure not the vehicle
These Jeeps don't have front or rear lockers you install those and the jeeps win! How much was your land rover new?
djarizona the rover is on bald tires and open diff so....
Don't rovers have traction control though... where basically the ABS keeps one wheel from spinning... I don't think any of the Jeeps had that. Maybe your Discovery doesn't either?
circlestrafe Yea, every discovery 2 comes with traction control
funny how the land rover was based on the jeep and surpassed it. on another note I didn't know the stock disco 2 came with spot light bars and winches:)..I love my disco2
The reason they were going fast up the hills was they had not changed the gearing when they put on larger tyres so they would just stall going slow messing around with your vehicle does not always make it better off road in these cases it made them worse iam a land rover guy myself has quite a few of them and i have never broke down if you look after it same goes for jeep my disco 2 has had a lot of alterations to the suspension and drive system and is a lot better than it was stock because i listened to other land rover owners and took the best mods from all of them diff axle locks i can turn off my traction control completely while iam using diff locks which i rarely use i did add the centre diff lock mechanism back on my 2004 model a 4 inch suspension lift with a 4 inch body lift camber arms longer gas shocks brake hoses a double jointed front prop and a rear axle spacer 33 inch mud bfgs offset wheel to help the height increase larger wing flares twin kenlowe fans with manual override for wading winch bumpers front and rear twin batteries warn 10000 pound winch exterior roll cage since i have done these mods over a two year period it is awesome never gets stuck i am always now the guy who rescues everyone else now all the guys are doing the same to there's i also changed the gearing of the transfer box to compensate the bigger tyres i can cruise at 80 mph no problem with the td5 engine which i have put on a slightly larger turbo and adjusted the boost wit a manual boost controller from the cab i can give it more boost when i need to just by turning a knob it make all the difference but if you do it put on silicone reinforced hoses as it will split the rubber ones easily plus it was fun to work on as this was my last big project been a mechanic for 40 years now iam now just going to enjoy it and have a lot of fun and that's why i love land rovers and you could say the same to jeeps to you could do the same things to a jeep as well
john kindon looks like you build a very nice rig men! Cheers! Watch my other videos! The rover is now running 37s on stock axles and gears! The engine is packing a little bit more power than the stock 4.6 V8!
john kindon oh! In 12 years I never break anything, And I beat it up pretty hard men! I’m still running’s my old factory axles and gears! Waiting on them to gave up but they still holding pretty good! The day I break them I will up grade it! So far it’s been fun 🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽
Is that a Jeep or a Formula 1 car trying to get up that hill?
EVOCATEUR 😂🎯
