The Shocker is uniquely suited to fighting Venom and no one seems to recognize it. His powers are vibrations, vibrations he shoots through the air, that is the definition of sound. His gauntlets are effectively sonic cannons which should make him the bane of the black suit.
Apparently, the PSP or PS2 or something version of Web of Shadows is the only story to put that vibrational power to logical use, as I read that part of the symbiote-destroying machine Spider-Man builds in that version of the game includes Shocker's gauntlets. One comic shown in this video and one video game for something that should be a no-brainer...I mean, Venom beat Human Torch when Spider-Man tried exploiting his weakness to fire, but that stories just never go the distance with this possibility is weird.
@turtleanton6539 Seriously! HE should have been the go-to guy for when all of those symbiotes came to New York in the 90s, heheheheh! Granted, he'd only do it if you gave him something and he'd probably set a high price.
Insomniac was a lot closer than you think: Spider-Man calls him dumb but still likes talking science and suit designs with him; Shocker's trying to turn his life around but is down on his luck; his power scaling adapts both his old and new appearances; and even though Spider-Man 2 did him dirty ("GET BACK HERE SHOCKER! SHOCKER!...YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME! I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!"), Kraven still acknowledges him as the toughest foe before the Spider Men and Venom.

@@spidermaniathey could make a side mission with the Enforcers. Beating one each mission until the final boss with Montana as Shocker or maybe all of them against Peter and Miles or just one spider.
It probably didn’t fit the theme of this video but one of my favorite Shocker moments is when he decides to betray the villains and help the Avengers Unity Squad defend people while they were trapped in the Darkforce dome in the Secret Empire event. Then in the next arc, Rogue is his defendant in court because she actually believes there’s good in him. I love that new writers don’t just see him as a one note villain.
This was a great Shocker video shining a little light on the character. I've been a fan of his ever since the Spider-Man 1 game for the PS2. His voice actor was amazing. If Shocker sounded like that, he should give up crime and start a podcast.
I love how you seemingly forgot Ultimate Shocker, from the game. I don't blame you: Even as an admittable fanboy of that game, I regularly forget he was a boss and everything.
Fun Fact: Peter has stated himself hes genuinely grateful that Shocker is a pushover and one track minded. His gauntlets are powerful enough to wipe out city blocks at full power, yet he chooses not to as he only cares about robberies and side gigs. If Shocker really wanted to, he could be one of Peter's most dangerous foes and fears the day if Shocker ever figures that out. The Shocker in the first raimi game and Spectacular Spiderman show he can be a genuine menace. In the raimi game his gauntlets can straight up create tornadoes and have the range of going down an entire subway track. Dude is terrifying when he goes all out. Even Kraven in Spiderman 2 respected him for fighting at full strength and was the only one to put up a good fight
I honestly really love Shocker's character, in both Spider-Man comics and the Superior Foes of Spider-Man comics. It's a shame he's rarely ever adapted right in other medias.
I always thought shocker should be a legacy character. I got no problem with a buffon shocker but you also need to give me one who is a menace showing off what fear he can bring when he can cause earthquakes. Also his power set is too strong for everyone who becomes shocker to be a joke character. Shocker is my favorite. Fun question for everyone: What's your favorite color used to depict his vibration blasts? I really think the blue they used in the raimi games really pops with the yellow of his suit. But green also looks super cool as well.
Yknow In Spectacular I always have this theory that since the Shocker suit and gauntlets were stolen by The Enforcers that they were originally built by Herman Schultz who didnt turn to villainy
There's already dozens of "cool edgy" Spider-Man villains. Shocker being just a clumsy guy down on his luck is what makes him unique He's like Killer Moth

Funny story: there's a long running Japanese show called Kamen Rider. In the original series back in 1971, the villains of the show were a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world and they were called....Shocker. But it gets better, they regularly use cyborgs with animal motifs and the monster of the week for the first episode was a spider themed cyborg called.....Spider Man.
Shocker is a weird case where the adaptations take him more seriously than the comics. He's more fun as a complete loser though, give Spider-Man some good insult material.
