In the Web of Shadows game, his main motivation in that story was to find his sister and make sure she was safe. Unfortunately, she was infected with a symbiote and turned him into a venomized-Electro. Maybe future adaptations could do something with his sister, because he apparently also has one in the comics but barely gets brought up.

I liked Spectacular's Electro, he has his own degression throughout the show. In his first episode we see him desperate for a cure and to be normal again and live his life, when that fails he turns to the only person who reached out to him after what he's done but ends up being used, and in season 2 he's essentially given up on a cure rejecting his old identity and accepting his new life as Electro to the point where the last time we see him he's in a seclusion room screaming "Don't Know Anyone Named MAX! My Name's ELECTRO! ELECTRO I TELL YOU!". We followed his journey, from the accident, a victim Spidey mistakingly judges as a criminal ultimately becoming one, to his descent into Madness. Also, Crispin Freeman does an amazing job voicing him

I would LOVE for you to do a video comparing EVERY version of Electro to Ironman Armored Adventures's "Living Lazer". Cause there's alot of overlap between the characters. Beyond the powersets, the "pure energy forms", they also have VERY similar personalities of wanting to be bigshots, feelings of inatiquicy, always feeling belittled, ESPECIALLY by the main hero they fight. I still say it's SUPER worth a video because. . . how Armored Adventures wrote The Living Laser, to me, THAT'S how you should write Electro.

I feel like not every villain needs a sad backstory that instantly makes you feel bad for them and sympathize with them. It's a thing I'm noticing in a lot of villains nowadays and it makes me miss those old evil douchebags that just do evil shit to be evil, I'm glad electro isn't the case here, it's one of the main reasons i couldn't really vibe well with Batman villains because ALL of them are guys that were led down a dark path in life that made them who they are and as cool as it is especially since it works well for Batman it kinda just makes it a lil less entertaining imo. I'm glad a majority of Spidey villains aren't like that such as shocker, electro, scorpion, green goblin (to some extent), chameleon, vulture, kingpin, etc. call me crazy but i really do prefer the evil D bags compared to sympathetic villain. electro is a badass Spider-Man in tasm2 his character was different from the comics he is just a broken person and thought the world hated and saw him as in outcast so he gets powers and doesn’t rob banks he wants everyone suffer the pain that they caused him so they can see him as a god.

I mean, in all seriousness, Walrus is a D-List villain that is supposed to be either an ineffective joke or a surprisingly capable contract killer that everyone thinks is a joke. Either role he plays pretty well. Electro is an A-List villain whose motivations are incredibly shallow and whose personality barely even exists. He's pretty bad in the role of A-List villain.
I don't know why, but I have an irrational love for Electro, and in every piece of media a version of him appears in, he's automatically my favorite character (except the Insomniac games, I liked Scorpion more). Seeing him get hated on makes me sad, but I understand why people hate at least the comic book versions of him 'cuz he's blander than bread in most of them.

Actually you got it wrong. Despite all flaws, 'TASM2' Electro actually has a point, he wants to have the power plant, not just for the energy he wants but also because it belonged to him. Max was the one who designed the power grid and got all his work stolen from him by Oscorp, which is the whole thing about Jamie Foxx Electro, he just wants to have what belongs to him back, his legacy, his reputation, his life, all taken by a higher power. He's basically like Arthur Fleck, the world is constantly bashing on him and people just step on him like nothing happened, so he uses power to not only be on top, he wants to be seen, it's a cry for help. Also he died on his birthday, so it's like power was his gift and he won't give up on it. I just feel sad that they didn't make a good job conveying all of this. At least he got a second chance in 'Spider-Man - No Way Home'. I'd love to see what happened to him after he got taken back.

Always find Electro to be a meh villain. He is powerful, but do feel he is one-note overall. I bet you grinned when he was killed off in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as even Kraven finds him lame.
It sucks to see how Electro is treated because he's my favorite villain. Electric powers are more OP than people give it credit for which is what drew me to him. Having a god complex is probably the best thing for his characterization but the way they go about it, especially in TASM2, it's just done poorly. It's sad how little they care about Electro because he can be a real great character if they tried

Dispite that Electro is my second in my top 5 favorite Spiderman villains 1 Venom(Eddie Brock) 2 Electro(Max Dillion) 3 Dr Octopus(Otto Octavius) 4 Sandman(Flint Marko) 5 Green Goblin(Norman Osborn) I won't bash you for your opinion plus I like your content and I myself and others have villains that everyone else sees as S-Tier that I don't like Poison Ivy from Batman or Cody Leach with The Penguin mainly due to Cody finding Penguin too goofy or boring and I find Poison Ivy to just be repetative and duel plus her writting like Harley's is all over the place and just NEVER been one of my favorites

He's very cinematic actually and i think it's because he's visually interesting everyone's keen on him. Also also in the Gauntlet storyline he kinda has a social justice occupy wall Street nuance
I don't think Electro is the worst but I do have a potential change in mind that might make his dynmatic interesting for you. Instead of having him get his powers via a freak electric accident, make him a mutant that has no interest what so ever in the whole back and forth between human and mutant coexistence vs mutant supremacy. Being one of the few to even refuse to live on Krakota later on.
I think a decently interesting part of Electro is that he’s often stuck the way he is. But if he puts his mind to it, he could be so much more powerful. So much more dangerous. I think it’d be interesting to give him a ATSV Spot treatment. Kind of like Light the Night. All that separates Electro and Spot from being real threats are their mindsets. Not that Electro ever was a complete laughing stock like Spot was, but he could do much, much more than robbing banks and such.
Actually he was made fairly sympathetic in that one story were he is revealed to have a been screwed over by his company and became a leader of the people against the 1%.
Hydroman fits the description of a bland villain much better and to think that people actually complained after he was given a more defined character in the Spider-Man show from the 90's.
I didn’t really care for Light The Night. The story that did follow it up was a lot better (And it made sense with the Light The Night story.). Electro actually made Spider-Man BEG for his life ! X-Man had to help him. He appeared to die at the end , and that should have been his final comic story. Too bad.
Reminds me of what GodzillaMendoza said about Electro, saying he was there just to fill up the roster too. I mean I still like Electro, but I can't deny he's definitely simple. But that's fine.
I really like his appearance in Spider-Man Web of Shadows. He’s not a huge part of the game but what we see of him, he’s basically a schizo trying to help his sister even if that means messing up the city and running through shield containment setups. You get the sense that he’s not really evil, but he’s just kinda crazy and it makes him do things and act out without thinking.
Here is my unwarranted concept for an electro origin story: Max Dillon is your average man, down on his luck, his uncle died, his girlfriend dumped him because he is broke, and everybody at his job at (insert name of evil marvel science company here) makes fun of and pranks him. Until one day his coworkers prank him by tripping him up into a tank or mutant electric eels. He survives but he is disfigured, he can get treatment for his disfigurements but he can't afford it. He realizes almost all his cor and maybe even his manager had a hand in this. Meanwhile he learns about his electric powers and decides to get revenge on his coworkers and manager using his power. As Spider-Man has to prevent Max from what he is about to do. Feel free to tell me what you'd change about his origin or if you just like it. Please only constructive criticism.
Unrelated side not but in Spectacular while that's my second favorite Otto it kinda bugs me on how unlike Spiderman 2 where he has a problem with the tenticals but essintally gets hypnotized by them in the show Green Goblin turns him into Octopus and he's just like" I'mma go to the fair and beat the shit outta some random people" usually Dr Octopus only fights who's in his way and it's jaring how Otto is PERFECTLY fine with the fact that he'll most likely have those arms on him forever controlling his mind and his first concern is " where's Spiderman I wanna kill him"
I always thought Electro never really stood out of all the main apider-man villains. Like characters like Sandman and Schocker, he is just a bankrobber. But he doesn't really have that much personality appart from "im evil muahahaha". The only reason Electro is so popular is because people think electric powers are cool
I get it doesn't work for everyone but I like Electro being just a narrow minded petty criminal that got powers by accident and doesn't even know how to make the most of it. You'd think not all criminals would be brilliant masterminds, you'd get these losers around also showing up when you have better things to do. You need the petty criminals so when Green Goblin or Octopus shows up they look way more menacing by comparison. You need some mediocre villains who are just that, mediocre without any room for growth. Not to be main antagonist but half step above henchman so Spider is not fighting some random guy without a chance, but neither the biggest threat ever. Doc Ock, Green Goblin, these guys are the weekend special it will take all his time and attention to win. Elektro is more the matinee thing you deal with but it is not gonna change your life and you can go on a date with MJ after.
I have couple of ideas - using his powers is so addicting and he doesn't rob banks, instead jusy goes to places with most elecricity to feel powerful -make him feel unimportant like adaptations do, maybe his parents favored his sister or something -have more team ups with Blizzard the Iron Man villain.

I'm sorry but the actual worst Spider-Man villain is Scorpion. There can be a certain humor and tragedy in that Electro could potentially be either the most powerful supervillain/most helpful superhero, but he chooses to rob banks. Stories with Electro/Max Dillon usually have him be an entertaining jobber who's kind of an idiot, retconning that he was poorly educated and that he had an abusive childhood that stunted his development, explaining why he never learns from his mistakes. Mac Gargan/the Scorpion gets no such expansion. He was created specifically for the one purpose of killing Spider-Man and he couldn't even do that right--he knocked Spidey unconscious in his first appearance and instead of finishing him off, Gargan decided "no one can stop me, I'll kill everybody here" and went on a mindless power-mad rampage. Despite ostensibly having abilities that directly counter Spider-Man's while supposedly being much stronger overall, Gargan is a complete dunce and is consistently outwitted. He doesn't even get a sad backstory--he was a private detective, and not a good one, and Jameson decided to enlist him for the Scorpion experiment. That's it. Any kind of spice to Scorpion's story usually has more to do with Jameson than Gargan himself. When he became the next host for the Venom symbiote he couldn't even use it nearly as effectively as Brock did. In Peter's words, "a loser with the Venom symbiote is still a freaking loser."
Why is Max wrong to demand money to help in doing something dangerous and dumb at work? If you ever at a gig like that, you'd do the same, it's your life on the line, you gonna work to death for free? Nah, he was right in doing that. Ain't nobody being a hero when it comes to such a scenario. If I'm gonna risk getting zapped, Imma make sure I get extra for it. My life ain't free to waste.
For starters it’s not that he was worried about helping it’s how standoffish he was about helping. “I don’t do nothing for no one”. Max coworker was in danger because his railing snapped and he was dangling from the pole line. Someone needed to go up there and help secure him. Max was struck by lightning in the middle of a sunny day. There was no risk of being shocked it was his harness that’s broken. He was struck by lightning. He wasn’t electrocuted by the power lines.

What exactly is he gonna do up there that he can't do from the ground? Pull him up? Also, he wasn't just hanging from the pole line, it was a high tension pole, meaning yes, he was in danger of getting shocked if something goes wrong, so anyone close to him would also be in danger, hence why Max shouldn't even be considering doing it. If he does and it goes wrong, 2 people die, if he doesn't, only 1 does, it's simple math. If he gonna get ordered by his boss to do something that could actually make things worse if it goes wrong, might as well get some extra if he's so necessary in an emergency situation that is NOT his responsability but might be a danger to himself.
It always feels like Electro is there just to fill out the Sinister Six roster. Like his whole gimmick is just related to his powers which are genuinely dope but he kinda just feels like an afterthought or a filler villain. I think a great writer could potentially revitalize him and find a way to make him interesting but as is his character is so ill defined that you can plug like any character trait into him for an adaptation and most people won’t complain which can be good for some Spider-Man media but still we could use a bit more depth and nuance.

Imo I think it's great Electro is that one villain that is just evil cause he just is. Bro gained super powers and just went "aight ima be evil now " which is kinda realistic. Also the mtv design is still one of my favorites. He is covered in scars and seriously disfigured. He actually looks like an electrocution victim. What would have made the look perfect is if the hair was fringed up into the iconic star mask shape to give homage to the classic look
When Electro gets his next adaptation, I hope they either make him this guy who makes little money and slowly gets rich from like stealing from ATMs or whatever and form hos own little crime empire (I based him form the concept from James Cameron's canceled movie). Or they make him a mutant and give him a redemption or something and maybe have him as a hero who joins the X men

electro is a badass Spider-Man in tasm2 his character was different from the comics he is just a broken person and thought the world hated and saw him as in outcast so he gets powers and doesn’t rob banks he wants everyone suffer the pain that they caused him so they can see him as a god.

I mean, in all seriousness, Walrus is a D-List villain that is supposed to be either an ineffective joke or a surprisingly capable contract killer that everyone thinks is a joke. Either role he plays pretty well. Electro is an A-List villain whose motivations are incredibly shallow and whose personality barely even exists. He's pretty bad in the role of A-List villain.
I don't know why, but I have an irrational love for Electro, and in every piece of media a version of him appears in, he's automatically my favorite character (except the Insomniac games, I liked Scorpion more). Seeing him get hated on makes me sad, but I understand why people hate at least the comic book versions of him 'cuz he's blander than bread in most of them.
How would you write Electro? BTW I'd choose the electric eel origin over the struck by lighting origin.

Actually you got it wrong. Despite all flaws, 'TASM2' Electro actually has a point, he wants to have the power plant, not just for the energy he wants but also because it belonged to him.
Max was the one who designed the power grid and got all his work stolen from him by Oscorp, which is the whole thing about Jamie Foxx Electro, he just wants to have what belongs to him back, his legacy, his reputation, his life, all taken by a higher power.
He's basically like Arthur Fleck, the world is constantly bashing on him and people just step on him like nothing happened, so he uses power to not only be on top, he wants to be seen, it's a cry for help. Also he died on his birthday, so it's like power was his gift and he won't give up on it.
I just feel sad that they didn't make a good job conveying all of this. At least he got a second chance in 'Spider-Man - No Way Home'. I'd love to see what happened to him after he got taken back.

It sucks to see how Electro is treated because he's my favorite villain. Electric powers are more OP than people give it credit for which is what drew me to him. Having a god complex is probably the best thing for his characterization but the way they go about it, especially in TASM2, it's just done poorly. It's sad how little they care about Electro because he can be a real great character if they tried

Electro is unfortunately the perfect example of a potential powerful villain held back by bad writing/characterization.

He's very cinematic actually and i think it's because he's visually interesting everyone's keen on him. Also also in the Gauntlet storyline he kinda has a social justice occupy wall Street nuance
I don't think Electro is the worst but I do have a potential change in mind that might make his dynmatic interesting for you. Instead of having him get his powers via a freak electric accident, make him a mutant that has no interest what so ever in the whole back and forth between human and mutant coexistence vs mutant supremacy. Being one of the few to even refuse to live on Krakota later on.
I think a decently interesting part of Electro is that he’s often stuck the way he is. But if he puts his mind to it, he could be so much more powerful. So much more dangerous. I think it’d be interesting to give him a ATSV Spot treatment. Kind of like Light the Night. All that separates Electro and Spot from being real threats are their mindsets. Not that Electro ever was a complete laughing stock like Spot was, but he could do much, much more than robbing banks and such.
Actually he was made fairly sympathetic in that one story were he is revealed to have a been screwed over by his company and became a leader of the people against the 1%.
Well that was the point of Spider-Man villains in the 60s - 70s comics. They were just evil for the sake of being evil.

I didn’t really care for Light The Night. The story that did follow it up was a lot better (And it made sense with the Light The Night story.). Electro actually made Spider-Man BEG for his life ! X-Man had to help him. He appeared to die at the end , and that should have been his final comic story. Too bad.

He’s not a huge part of the game but what we see of him, he’s basically a schizo trying to help his sister even if that means messing up the city and running through shield containment setups.
You get the sense that he’s not really evil, but he’s just kinda crazy and it makes him do things and act out without thinking.
Imagine watching as all your fellow villians become either deep, threatening, or popular and you just stay uninteresting and weak

Here is my unwarranted concept for an electro origin story:
Max Dillon is your average man, down on his luck, his uncle died, his girlfriend dumped him because he is broke, and everybody at his job at (insert name of evil marvel science company here) makes fun of and pranks him. Until one day his coworkers prank him by tripping him up into a tank or mutant electric eels. He survives but he is disfigured, he can get treatment for his disfigurements but he can't afford it. He realizes almost all his cor and maybe even his manager had a hand in this. Meanwhile he learns about his electric powers and decides to get revenge on his coworkers and manager using his power. As Spider-Man has to prevent Max from what he is about to do.
Feel free to tell me what you'd change about his origin or if you just like it. Please only constructive criticism.

Unrelated side not but in Spectacular while that's my second favorite Otto it kinda bugs me on how unlike Spiderman 2 where he has a problem with the tenticals but essintally gets hypnotized by them in the show Green Goblin turns him into Octopus and he's just like" I'mma go to the fair and beat the shit outta some random people" usually Dr Octopus only fights who's in his way and it's jaring how Otto is PERFECTLY fine with the fact that he'll most likely have those arms on him forever controlling his mind and his first concern is " where's Spiderman I wanna kill him"

I always thought Electro never really stood out of all the main apider-man villains. Like characters like Sandman and Schocker, he is just a bankrobber. But he doesn't really have that much personality appart from "im evil muahahaha".

I get it doesn't work for everyone but I like Electro being just a narrow minded petty criminal that got powers by accident and doesn't even know how to make the most of it.
You'd think not all criminals would be brilliant masterminds, you'd get these losers around also showing up when you have better things to do. You need the petty criminals so when Green Goblin or Octopus shows up they look way more menacing by comparison.
You need some mediocre villains who are just that, mediocre without any room for growth. Not to be main antagonist but half step above henchman so Spider is not fighting some random guy without a chance, but neither the biggest threat ever.
Doc Ock, Green Goblin, these guys are the weekend special it will take all his time and attention to win.
Elektro is more the matinee thing you deal with but it is not gonna change your life and you can go on a date with MJ after.

I have couple of ideas
- using his powers is so addicting and he doesn't rob banks, instead jusy goes to places with most elecricity to feel powerful
-make him feel unimportant like adaptations do, maybe his parents favored his sister or something
-have more team ups with Blizzard the Iron Man villain.

I'm sorry but the actual worst Spider-Man villain is Scorpion.
There can be a certain humor and tragedy in that Electro could potentially be either the most powerful supervillain/most helpful superhero, but he chooses to rob banks. Stories with Electro/Max Dillon usually have him be an entertaining jobber who's kind of an idiot, retconning that he was poorly educated and that he had an abusive childhood that stunted his development, explaining why he never learns from his mistakes.
Mac Gargan/the Scorpion gets no such expansion. He was created specifically for the one purpose of killing Spider-Man and he couldn't even do that right--he knocked Spidey unconscious in his first appearance and instead of finishing him off, Gargan decided "no one can stop me, I'll kill everybody here" and went on a mindless power-mad rampage. Despite ostensibly having abilities that directly counter Spider-Man's while supposedly being much stronger overall, Gargan is a complete dunce and is consistently outwitted.
He doesn't even get a sad backstory--he was a private detective, and not a good one, and Jameson decided to enlist him for the Scorpion experiment. That's it. Any kind of spice to Scorpion's story usually has more to do with Jameson than Gargan himself.
When he became the next host for the Venom symbiote he couldn't even use it nearly as effectively as Brock did. In Peter's words, "a loser with the Venom symbiote is still a freaking loser."

Why is Max wrong to demand money to help in doing something dangerous and dumb at work? If you ever at a gig like that, you'd do the same, it's your life on the line, you gonna work to death for free? Nah, he was right in doing that. Ain't nobody being a hero when it comes to such a scenario. If I'm gonna risk getting zapped, Imma make sure I get extra for it. My life ain't free to waste.
For starters it’s not that he was worried about helping it’s how standoffish he was about helping. “I don’t do nothing for no one”.
Max coworker was in danger because his railing snapped and he was dangling from the pole line. Someone needed to go up there and help secure him. Max was struck by lightning in the middle of a sunny day. There was no risk of being shocked it was his harness that’s broken.

True, but he doesn't necessarily have an obligation to do so. If the guy was gonna fall down, that's a job for security, not a pole man. What exactly is he gonna do up there that he can't do from the ground? Pull him up?
Also, he wasn't just hanging from the pole line, it was a high tension pole, meaning yes, he was in danger of getting shocked if something goes wrong, so anyone close to him would also be in danger, hence why Max shouldn't even be considering doing it. If he does and it goes wrong, 2 people die, if he doesn't, only 1 does, it's simple math.
If he gonna get ordered by his boss to do something that could actually make things worse if it goes wrong, might as well get some extra if he's so necessary in an emergency situation that is NOT his responsability but might be a danger to himself.
It always feels like Electro is there just to fill out the Sinister Six roster. Like his whole gimmick is just related to his powers which are genuinely dope but he kinda just feels like an afterthought or a filler villain. I think a great writer could potentially revitalize him and find a way to make him interesting but as is his character is so ill defined that you can plug like any character trait into him for an adaptation and most people won’t complain which can be good for some Spider-Man media but still we could use a bit more depth and nuance.

Imo I think it's great Electro is that one villain that is just evil cause he just is. Bro gained super powers and just went "aight ima be evil now " which is kinda realistic. Also the mtv design is still one of my favorites. He is covered in scars and seriously disfigured. He actually looks like an electrocution victim. What would have made the look perfect is if the hair was fringed up into the iconic star mask shape to give homage to the classic look

When Electro gets his next adaptation, I hope they either make him this guy who makes little money and slowly gets rich from like stealing from ATMs or whatever and form hos own little crime empire (I based him form the concept from James Cameron's canceled movie).
