Last month, My Aunt called my Mom and started boasting how her daughter got selected by Byjus for a scholarship program where she was getting Courses worth of 2 lakh something for 80k (I'm currently pursuing engineering so I have been from that class 11-12 phase where you are made to believe that only big coaching Institutes can help you to go to a good engineering/medical college, I know how brands like Byjus lure you by calling you and your parents again and again.) So my mom who has seen this phase tried to explain to my aunt that all this is a fraud but my Aunt was brainwashed so well by this Brand that she wasn't even ready to listen to mom, she was acting as if my mom doesn't want her daughter to do well in life. So that's the level of propoganda that's going on.

The reason they don't refund is that they overlap the 15 days of trial with refund window. Your refund window expires even before you actually buy the course. Their system is flawed by design to rip people off. Even the BDAs tell that once a payment is done, that phone number is ignored by system itself for 15 days so that nobody could contact for refunds. This is one really messed up company.

@@siddhantdeshmukh7120 it's so simple. When you go to purchase a flat or vehicle and you can't pay the whole value at a time the seller asks you to purchase it on EMI and you agree and sign . Basically they take loans in your name from NBFC (such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance etc) or from Bank. Byju's just does the same thing! It’s the customers' fault that they don't go through all the terms and policies.

Every point you mentioned was bang on. One of the salesman did come home and spent some time with my daughter (7yrs), gave her some questions and started evaluating her....forgetting that he is the least qualified person to do so. How can anyone other than the school teacher or parents evaluate a child? It was an experience that the salesman discussing my child's capabilities, and he will never forget the teaching i gave him. Seriously if Mr.Raveendran wants to improve the education system in India, he better start schools, and deploy teachers to teach children....enough of this humbug...

There is a famous trendline that is used among many students at IITs and IIITs that even if you don't get any job after BTech , simply start any EDTech startup and just do any stupid thing. BYJU will definitely acquire it within a month or 2. Such is its acquisition spree.

Pranjal Ji, I really liked your parting comments, so beautifully articulated ... so true, each teachers have their own aura and flavour of teaching their students and there is no glory for students in becoming clone of each others, which will bring in intellectual bankruptcy one day ... The govt must initiate investigations of the inherent armtwisting tactics of the promoter of this business. In fact I was quite shocked when I had to pay 56K to this co., whom I thought is an edutech company, for my 5th standard son three years back ... I couldn't make out why I had to buy a samsung Tab from an education co. , why they were selling tab along with their course!!... there was no answer from the sales person... Shame on such business brains, who are nothing but greedy people!

    Dear all,
Once I was teaching maths to my niece who was studying in class V. She had a doubt in one particular mathematical problem which I solved but she didn't agreed with the solution. Do u know why? Because she had seen a wrong solution in byju's site. When she told me about her confusion, I checked in byju's site and also saw it same as she was saying. I called byju's customer support a couple of times and informed about that wrong solution in their site. They agreed to my solution and assured to change and update the correct solution. But they didn't make any change. One year before I informed them and still the wrong solution exists till now. The team don't even care about students. My niece did not even agree to the right solution. Then I knew that byju is not a good learning platform. It only focuses on business. If you had to do a business, then why it would be business of education? Better, do a business of ginger garlic.

From 10:20 whatever you said was extremely right. It made me cry because exactly same thing happened to me in my first job.. i was told that i will get 35-40k per month salary. I was a big introvert That's why i don't used to talk much with anyone and also it was my first job so I didn't know what kind of attitude is needed to work in front of an abusive manager and toxic working environment. So what happened was i joined the company and then i was almost abused by my manager everyday even though i was the one who was the most hardworking employee in that office.but because I was introvert and so the manager started putting pressure on me because he thought this guy doesn't talk or interact with anyone he is not productive. And for that reason i only got 20k salary that too after 40 days after joining the company because they used to keep a gap of 10 days for paying salary after every month. The other employees were hardcore extroverts so they used to express that they are doing too much work. And in that company no employees were given proper training because from manager to every other employee it was a kind of work which requires new skills. So the probability of mistakes was too much. But but but guess who was blamed for these mistakes yes it was me, always.. i can't even tell how many times that manager abused my mother sister😞 but i had to somehow stick with job because i bought a bike on installments because my home was 37kms away from office and i live in a village. And the other major reason was that i couldn't afford to leave that toxic job because all my relatives and neighbours knew that i have started doing work and earning 40k per month (which i was told by the manager) which is considered very good salary in rural areas even though i was only getting 20k in reality. Once when i was going home from work and stopped alongside the road cried there even thought to commit suicide because i was abused and even threaten to lose my job because of some girl's mistake. Somehow i console myself because it will only make my mother father sister life like hell. So somehow i kept working there for a few months until i got a very good work from job. i am getting 25k which is more then enough for me.. my 3500-4000rs which i used to spend on petrol is also being saved now. And wasting 2 hours up down to the office also. And the cherry on top is in this job you get a holiday on Saturday also. And the other 5 working days are also like half holidays because there is not much work and pressure and it's a stable job. So whoever is reading this i just want to let them know just have patience and give your best you will surely get what you deserve just work hard and smart 🙏

Congrats Pranjal on making this video and speaking on BYJU's practices. I remember a decade-and-half ago, there was an institute called IIPM, which had its branches in various cities of India, and which used to claim that it in the league of top IIMs (IIM A, B and C), whereas its centers were running out of small compounds. It used to employ same bullying tactics against those who voiced out their concerns about IIPM. Ultimately, after a few years and some lawsuits, Indian government and the Department of Education took cognizance of it and banned IIPM. 'You reap as you sow'.

Well done..! Hats off to you for taking courage in bringing these unethical activities. I wish more influencers to take on this subject to protect innocent parents from this trap.

Another important point here is, these edtechs invest so much in highly sophisticated animations to help students understand the concept in 3D and all, students’ brains become lazy to unconsciously visualise it and enjoy (so called) education like fast food.
I still remember how my geography teacher explained me in 90s the moon’s phases with practical in classroom by making few of standing and making role play of Sun, earth and moon.

Is there proof that graphic visualization of concepts will negatively impact creativity of kids? I'm not for Byju's but genuinely interested.

@@anug14 there may not be a negative impact, but child may not improve imagination capability. Later he may not understand complex topics like quantum mechanics which require a lot of assumptions and imagination as those cannot be represented with images or graphics.
