One more point to add: They offer perks like TV and AC for patients of higher income bracket who won't mind shelling a few bucks for such comforts and the profit thus gained is used in further reducing the expenses of patients of lower income bracket.

    • @noice8674

There are different of types of bypass surgeries. Cost increases based on the complexity of the procedure. They do perform most surgeries under 1 lakh. It's not just the cost of surgery that adds to the final bill. Duration of stay in the hospital after surgery and rehabilitation adds to the cost.

Hospitals are not a place for cost cutting , like aviation industries. Cost cutting put patients health in risk. Indian citizens are immature and have wrong perceptions the term professionalism. We thinking professional means profiteering. Quality service is important. Cost comes same be it is done govt or pvt setup, infact cost per patient is more in govt setup. In govt setup govt bearing the cost .in pvt setup insurance company or patient bearing the cost.

This is not true I have personal experience with this, back in 2015 my father did heart surgery in NH ( Bengaluru) what my experience was, it was complete business they are proposing plans😶 also the operation was successful by their opinion but it was not, after 1 year we have to do to same operation again but this time in CMC vallore, because the first was not successful. Now in CMC it went successful and till now my father is healthy in terms of heart disease. And Operation cost in CMC was half thn the Bengaluru NH..( ***In NH even non bypass surgery are not even closer to 1 lank...they are more )
Thats what i want to say, for me NH is just doing business...mr Pranjal your Description is saying the real truth thn the video. And yes they are working like a factory you don't need to ask this...they are already promoted to a factory...which has faulty products

When we visited the NH , my father's palpitation was normal, in that case they should have told us not to perform the operation right now..but because of the money they performed 😶 the operation

Don't go to a hospital. Get the baby delivered at home by an ayya or dai.
      Reason for increased surgical deliveries:
      1. Increase in age of first delivery. Girls get married at 30 now . Increased risk with increasing age
      2. Lack of physical activity. Wiping/ moping of floor , not doing household chores, using Western commodes all are responsible for surgical deliveries.
      3. Pregnant women now opt for surgical deliveries forcing doctors to do surgery.

I am a surgeon and I can tell you that they are following the demand in market. Cardiac surgery is the least preferred speciality, even Cardiac surgery seats in AIIMS AND PGI go vacant every year. The reason being a heart surgeon cannot open a nursing home, heart surgery needs mclose to 30 Cr worth of equipment and manpower including cardiologist, Cardiac anesthesiologist, transfusion bypass technicians . Due to all these the hospital is the one that dictates the pay.... I know cardiologists working for as less as 1.2 lakh per month....

I find its a combination of two great business models. One it 'Walmart' and other is 'Apple'. Walmart buys products in huge quantity and great discounts and you will never find any luxury items in Walmart, it's always low cost and daily necessary items. And Apple tries to reduce the time for which it's customers use the gadgets by adding efficiency and value to the products while other brands wants their customers to use the products for more time.

From health point of view cheaper is not always good. If a full time salaried doctor is made to work extra and do more surgeries, it leads to mental exhaustion and higher chances of mistakes in surgeries. Non audited clinical practice at dirt cheap rates is going to fire back eventually. Also offering cheaper surgeries does not mean unnecessary surgeries are avoided.

By packing angiography or angioplasty procedures in an affordable package, marketing teams compels doctors to attract more lower income groups to such procedures. Doctors are pressurised by so called hospital administrators to do more “Cheap Surgeries”. Affordability is one thing, actual need and quality of care is different. Lack of proper clinical audit in India has allowed for such businesses to grow.
