Hmm best way to make a kick and optimize resources is to use the filter in full resonance as a sine oscillator and make the cutoff modulation with the eg or the one shot lfo. Then you have still 3 oscillator to make other sounds
not entirely sure how you would do this since you can not bypass the filter entirely for the 3 oscillators. Unless I am missing a setting only the multiengine can bypass the filter. But if you have a cool idea by all means let me know. All tips n tricks welcome.

Yes, but only in Poly mode. You have 4 total voices to work with. If you play 3 note chords, you would have 1 voice left to play live notes on top of it (without recording them into the sequence).

Is it possible to have more than 16 steps for the sequencer, as in are they stackable in some way? I don't understand the reason for this apparent limitation. Thanks for any info, and the great demo
16 steps is the max, but you can have more than one note per step. For example, try this: Switch to ARP mode. Say you want a song at 120 BPM. You can set the tempo at half rate (60 BPM), then set the Step Resolution to 1/8, and the Arp Rate at 24th (both of these are under the Sequence Edit menu). This plays 3 arpeggiated notes per step, and 3 x 16 = 48. So effectively that's a 48 note sequence, but it could be synced to another synth/drum machine that is playing at 120 BPM.
BTW, any suggestions for an analog drum machine to clock it with the M. XD? I had the Arturia impact but I got bored right away as sounds wise felt stiff and not flexible at all. Thx 😊
Not analogue, but I'm using the PO-32 Tonic. Easy to sync with KORG instruments, and inexpensive. All of the Volca drum machines would also be a good choice.
Hi BoBeats! Recently, my father and I get a korg minilogue, and we are learning about it. I wanna know how to conect the synth to the computer, and ask you if i need an audio interface or just with USB out.
You can connect with just USB and the Minilogue XD will act as a MIDI controller (so you could use it to play soft synths, for example). USB passes MIDI data only, no audio. If you want to record the sounds that the Minilogue makes, you'll need an audio interface.

I have a question, is it possible to sequence chord progressions using chord mode? For example if I have the voice depth mode set to Maj 7 for the first chord would it be possible to then add in a minor chord to that same sequence while keeping the first chord a maj 7?
You can run the sequencer slower. Meaning that if you do a pad sequence you can effectively get a longer sequence out of it. But that means lower resolution.

Tom Coppens ah, yeah, I’m on the US website. I think aside from maybe some difference’s in the analog oscillator and the filter that some might find they like the original’s for some reason over the XD’s the rest of the synth is an improvement I’d say w/out a doubt. More capabilities, memory, digital 3rd oscillator, better and multiple effects at once now. But I wouldn’t say that this makes the original obsolete b/c it is a good instrument and you can’t really knock that.
I noticed that when you're tuning an VCO Ithe VCO 1 & 2 volume are all down except for the digital VCO how is that possible getting a sound output? I tried to follow your steps but I found out that I must turn the VCO 1 on in the mixer or else I won't hear a thang???
You can play the Digital Multi Engine (what you referred to as the digital VCO) by itself without using VCO 1 & 2 at all. Note that on an init patch, the Multi Engine is turned all the way down in the mixer, you have to turn it up.
i did not get the multi routing (pre/post) could u please explain it brief? :O ALSO, i have been wondering is there away to apply say a reverb or a delay only on one osclater not all of them while jamming? thanks
To make the kick sound with oscillator two he turns the cutoff for the filter way down, which cuts all the high frequencies off. Now you want to make a sound with high frequencies (snare) but you can’t pass it through the filter section because those frequencies are cut. By setting the multi to post VFO you bypass the filter section, allowing you to use the multi engine as a snare. I hope that explains it for you. Don’t ask me how he then gets oscillator one to make tones without messing up oscillator two though because that’s where he lost me!
@@roberte7606 as to the thing where he lost u. Maybe try recording the osc and motionnrec the parts u want to hear of the sequence? While keepin for example osc 2 thru out the sequence playin.. and take away cross mode depth to play them as singular sounds🤔
Hey Bo, thanks, this was super helpful managed to make some nice tracks rapid after this.. question though.any way of seamlessly linking sequences of more than 16 steps? Would be so helpful for live sets but only way I can do is to switch patches which causes a glitch, even if patch settings are identical.. I hope they mod it so you can switch to another sequence pattern within same patch for seamless jamming.. unless you already can and I've not sussed it

@@roberte7606 yo thx fam helpfull!
@@roberte7606 as to the thing where he lost u. Maybe try recording the osc and motionnrec the parts u want to hear of the sequence? While keepin for example osc 2 thru out the sequence playin.. and take away cross mode depth to play them as singular sounds🤔
brightgem went through again and got it this time thx!
Can the sequence be tranposed and hold?
Hey Bo, thanks, this was super helpful managed to make some nice tracks rapid after this.. question though.any way of seamlessly linking sequences of more than 16 steps? Would be so helpful for live sets but only way I can do is to switch patches which causes a glitch, even if patch settings are identical.. I hope they mod it so you can switch to another sequence pattern within same patch for seamless jamming.. unless you already can and I've not sussed it
No real way of linking sequences :-(
@@BoBeats arghh, so frustrating, must be possible with the hardware, fingers crossed for a firmware solution.. seems a massive oversight.. would be a synch with external sequencer but that kind of defeats point of onboard sequencer!
6:10 Tutorial Begins

ID LIKE TO SEE SOME OF THESE RAPPERS OR SO CALLED PRODUCERS OF RAPPERS DO THIS. JUST LAST WEEK I WAS SKIMMING THE MUSIC CHANNELS AND EVERY SONG USED THE SAME BEAT *"CANNED"*WITH VERY LITTLE VARIATIONS. IT SOUNDED SO CHEAP. ITS SO INGENOUS. I HATE RAP ANYWAY. BUT ITS ANOTHER STICKING POINT. ONE GROUP I SAW BEHIND THE MUSIC WAS "MINT CONDITION"NOT MY STYLE BUT AT LEAST THEY ACTUALLY PERFORM ON INSTRUMENTS. THANKS FOR THE GREAT INFO. AND YEA THE MINILOGUE CAN DO MOST ANYTHING. EVEN MAKE SWISS CHEESE....
