I purchased and used a couple of bottles of the Megs. Worked very well. The economics didn't add up though, and Repco didn't seem to stock larger sizes. Mitch Grime Off is also a high pH (Alkaline) cleaner, and diluted, works just as good (if not better than Megs. It is more versatile being that you can make your own dilution ratios and use it in other places. (Wheel arches, etc) Being careful with neat or low dilution ratios on Aluminium, (think uncoated brake calipers). Works really well on wheels and tires. 5 liters of Mitch Grime Off last a long time and is super economical. Thanks again for the vids 👍🍺
The Mrs had a bottle of a household cleaner that sprayed as a foam, when she finished the bottle I appropriated it for garage use. I mix grime down to about 4 parts water 1 grime for a tyre cleaner. Works pretty well. Works on the wheel a well, mine are coated, but I prefer the iron cleaners on them
G’day Jackson, another great test. Put in an order with Mirch this morning. Just an idea that works for me, I park the car on some bits of 19mm ply slightly off edge of tyre when I wash. Helps get around the whole tyre with brushes etc and perfect for your fave dressing when dry. Ps use rough ply, you don’t want yours or a customer’s car skating down a steep driveway.
Thanks for the video. Great comparison. Have you tried the Mafra maniac line wheel and tire cleaner? Best I've used so far. Melts everything off and it's dilutable. Also smells fantastic.
In NZ we still have the meg available in repco, it is really good but there's only ready to use available for sale, will try mirch grime off the nI finish this bottle
Yeah the Mirch is a great one for the price, hopefully shipping isn't to much as it's definitely cheaper for us to use here in Aus compared to the Meg's
Megs was my favourite, also surprised repco dropped it but it was always order in down in tas not on shelves. I'm a bowdens tragic but don't like wheely clean. Currently trying the megs ultimate wheel and tyre cleaner seems ok
I find the Mirch Grime off is as good as both of those. Way better pricing though. 30% off this weekend) for wheels I usually go Bowden's wheely clean or Mirch Dragon blood. Again the Mirch is super good value.
Completely agree and that's why I have around 8 litres of grime off here which is what I generally use the most. Dragon blood is also great but I slightly prefer NV purge over it
I have never tried the NV range, a couple of the sealants nd the detailer look good as well. The purge Seens expensive compared to the Dragon blood, as Mirch appear to have regular sales recently. Few months back Repco had wheely clean half price is I stocked up as well.
Neither of the products are cost effective if you work out a per wheel cost. I've tried several brands and find that I have a better result by using ArmorAll Heavy Duty Wash- (green in colour) agitating and hosing off with a garden hose. I can go deep into the wheel barrel with a long brush and achieve an almost perfect clean. A quick spray with a detailer finishes off with a great shine..
Personally, I dilute the TW 1:1 and add a couple of milliliters of high alkaline snow foam like KC Pfe. I only use it on the tires because it is uneconomical to use it on the tire and wheel.
Hi I have nnot used the tirtlecwax stuff it's kinda pricey even in bigger sizes you have to ship it. The megs in larger size is cheaper even though have to ship but it is cocensentrated and will work well in a I k foamer if you like foam
$45 for a bottle of wheel cleaner is absolutely criminal, I'm from Australia and run my own detailing business but never look at wheel cleaner prices I only grab last minute things from supercheap, autobahn etc.
@@EvolvedDetails good plan, I mostly use wheel acid in my business because the cars I do are always neglected, it’s the most cost effective cleaner. $35 I can get 5L of wheel acid from AutoSmart that I can dilute 5:1 and it’s the strongest cleaner there is. If they are not that bad, I just use a bit of apc and then foam over the top of it with a regular shampoo.

Yeah I agree and that's why I use Grime off 90% of the time but I will say I do like Foaming cleaners on tyres for some reason

I did really like that meguiars but got mirch afterwards and it seems to work about as well but costs way less
Yeah for the price Mirch is unbeatable

That's a great idea I'll have to start doing that too.
Thanks
I buy the TW in gallons in USA Amazon. Love it. Was impressed with the Megs though - nice test.
I wish it was easy fir us to get in larger sizes but unfortunately we're stuck with the bottled
Huh? They don’t sell a gallon size of the HyperFoam Wheel & Tire Cleaner. They do sell a gallon on the Rapid Decon Wheel Cleaner + Iron Remover.
@@homeboi808 Well, they may not NOW, but I bought one from Amazon when I told you I did: "Last purchased Apr 26, 2023
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)"
Thanks for the video. Great comparison. Have you tried the Mafra maniac line wheel and tire cleaner? Best I've used so far. Melts everything off and it's dilutable. Also smells fantastic.
Thanks mate, No I haven't I'll have to check it out
I think both products did an awesome job. Maybe it’s only due to your experience and skill too. Thanks for the comparison video.
Thank you!

Yeah not sure why they did but atleast autobarn have it now
I mixed my Turtle Wax to 1/3 for rims and 1/2 for tyres. Turtle wax stays on the rim and tyre for longer
That's a good idea to dilute as it does seem quite strong as is
The only wheel cleaner to use based on my experience is Bilt Hamber, beats everything I've used hands down
I'm yet to try it but it's definitely on the list

I agree and that's why I mostly use Mirch grime off which I dilute 1-1 or upto 1-5 with water far cheaper and does a great job
Excellent video, found Turtle Wax very uneconomical using nearly a whole bottle to prep my wheels and tyres for coating. It works well though 😊
Yeah great product for sure but I'd completely agree on the price and amount used due to the foaming trigger
Personally, I dilute the TW 1:1 and add a couple of milliliters of high alkaline snow foam like KC Pfe. I only use it on the tires because it is uneconomical to use it on the tire and wheel.
@@ray040613 What a brilliant idea, and I absolutely agree about tyres only, cripes it doesn't go far at all hahaha!
Great video mate
Thanks mate
Good review! The TW is good stuff. Smells like fish to me though haha
Haha I can't say I noticed the smell but the nose is probably gone from all the wheel cleaners I've been testing over the years haha
@@EvolvedDetails hahahaha Covid ruined mine
The turtle wax is good but expensive
Completely agree

It is and that's why I mostly stick with mirch grime off which is so much cheaper and available in bulk

Shame repco dropped the meg
It definitely is
p and s brake buster all day
Not my favourite as I find it's a little weak on dirtier wheels and tyres but a go to for maintenance washes
