Have you considered the extra biblical accounts by people like Josephus, Tacitus, Mara Bar-Serapion, Lucian, or the Jewish Talmud? These all confirm that Jesus did exist as a real person. All the gospels were written within 35 years of Jesus death considering Jesus protected that Jerusalem would be destroyed before their generation would come to pass and it was destroyed in 70 AD with no mention of it in the gospels or in the Acts of th Apostles. That would be a pretty good point to show that this Messiah they are writing about made a prophecy and was right about it. Along with the creed in 1 Corinithians 15:3-8 was believed to have been written within 5 years of Jesus' death stating that he died and was buried and rose again. Early Christianity would have been destroyed right then and there, considering legends don't start until at least 2 generations later, like when the gnostic gospels were written. There is just an avalanche of evidence for Jesus and confirming the events in the gospels, I highly recommend you do some of your own research!
Amen ASK Jesus to reveal himself to you if he if the true Messiah he will blow your MIND GEART SOUL A PEACE THAT IS PRICELESS I PRAY YOU SEEK HIM ILL PRAY FOR YOU !!
Andrew’s testimony is so moving. I love that God put these words in Gary Carter’s mouth and that Andrew was mentally primed for another “Jesus shout out” (which wouldn’t have helped him in that moment), but what he got was the six words he needed to hear more than anything. A wake up call to remember his need to be a man for his family (my read between the lines). A sort of “Really, Andrew? That’s it? You’re tapping out? Life wins? Wow Andrew! I thought you were tough. Weren’t you the guy who was reading voraciously for glimpses of integrity and masculinity all your life? Did those characters ever experience pain? What did they do? Lay down? Quit? You’ve been preparing your whole life for this moment, to answer this “Bell”, [boxing ring metaphor] you just didn’t know it.” God is King .. even of humility, taking Himself out of the equation and giving Gary six words, just for Andrew. I always wondering if Andrew ever got a chance to met Gary Carter, before he passed, and if Gary had any recollection of that game and the words that reached into Andrew’s soul.
@@2ndPigeon He trusts in something outside himself. He recognizes that his life has an arc and that the trajectory was changed by something outside himself. He is able to recognize the “old man” and be grateful for the new man. He continuously inserts his Christian worldview into almost every paragraph he speaks, because it is important to him and he believes it should be important to others. He has a depth of understanding of himself, his sin and the strongholds that he has. He doesn’t rely on Christian platitudes, but recognizes a real struggle between his flesh and his spirit. Does that answer your question?
@@malletandchisel5154 honestly it just raises more questions. Faith isn't trust though. Faith is believing something for no good reason. And every persons life is changed by external things. 'everything i see that is labeled 'Chrsitian' right now is bad' What an insight. As a Christian creator i can tell you it can completely discourage you , but am greatly encouraged that he has seen it and called it out. Thank you Andrew
Awesome interview..thank you.. Andrew Klavan in his profound truths from his own experiences, wake one up! His sometime cynical approach is painfully true.. he reminds me of Atthur Katz, messianic Jew, who wrote a book “Reality” it opened windows for me I had not seen, closed.
Thank you for telling us your faith journey. I can see the hand of God upon your life. Becoming a Christian has a cost but the rewards are everlasting. God bless you!
Only if the Jews would look at Daniel prophesying on their return from Babylon after their 70 years of captivity , they will discover that their Messiah has already come 2000 years ago. Look at Daniel 8 : 14 and 9 : 24 to 27. -- From the going forth of the command to build and restore Jerusalem to Messiah the Prince shall be 70 weeks of years = 490 years. The command was given to Nehemiah in 457 BC. 457 BC + 490 years = 33 AD , around the time when Jesus was baptised by John to begin His ministry to the Jews. And for 2000 years since the majority of Jews are still kicking at the pricks , as Jesus famously warned. So sad.
They will recognize him at his return, as prophecied in the O.T. Zechariah 12:10. “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn." Joel chapter 3
His-story is not over. "Workers are few, and there are many to be saved,". Thank you for sharing your story. If Jesus was and disciples were Jewish, then I assume many Jewish people converted to Christianity in 2,024 years. Mozart, Bach, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, and many great writers impacted the world. Einstein discovered the theory that states time is impacted by gravity. There is so much more to be discovered. I think being baptized with water is symbolism for transformation. Humans are composed 70 percent water,. Water can transform into three states: liquid, solud, and gas.
Andrew I love you so much, but why did you have to destroy my faith in Goofy from my acid hallucination of that cartoon house. It was all so real, now I don't know what to believe.
Bar mitzvah just means that a Jewish male has reached the age, 13, at which they are responsible under Jewish law to follow Jewish law, for example putting on teffilin each weekday. In the case of most American Jews, they have not received the education to be aware of, much less follow the law.
Being secular means your views, attitudes, etc. have no religious basis, so a 'secular Jew' is a contradiction in terms. You can be secular, or be a Jew. You can't really be both.
Dear Kelvin, JESUS ❤u! Are you a follower of YESHUA? If so why are you not mentioning JESUS, why are saying your a Christian and saying "you know that thing?" It says in the word..JESUS said this"Luke 9:26..
Can Christ accept you if you are a rebellious, miserable, pathetic, ruined, sinful, broken man? I know people say God loves sinners and that Christ came to Dave sinners but damn it’s hard to believe. I hate sinners, I hate myself, I hate humanity. How can God love me, how can I change? I want to say I’ve tried but I don’t think that is actually true but in some sense I have and I am frustrated and at the end of myself. If anyone can give me some hope I’d be happy to hear it. Maybe I’m just feeling defeated.
Yes! Yes! Yes! You just heard Andrew's spiritual journey, it wasn't a sprint. Please pray. Read the Bible. If possible, seek someone wise and spiritually minded who can walk this journey with you, explore the intense questions and feelings you experiencing with you and God. Mr Klavan said the answer to the question of 'do we matter' is a resounding YES when Christ became flesh. You matter. No one can be bad enough for God to reject. God promises that those who keep on and on knocking, the door will be answered, those who keep on and on seeking, will find, those who ask and keep on asking will receive (Matthew chapter 7 verses 7-8). Don't give up. God don't make rubbish. It's worth it.
There's a weird story in the old testament about Moses holding up his hands during a battle and whenever he failed to hold up his hands, the battle turned for evil. Read it. Your journey involves surrender first and then trusting God to fight battles and you will need help to hold up your hands, you will need to sit upon the rock and you will also need to have the personal resolve to keep them raised. It's hard to explain, but Christianity is not a choice you can make on an individual level and yet, you need to will it along. First step is surrender to God. It sounds like he's already working in your heart. God bless you.
I think prayer is a great first step. Whether for the first time or to re-remind yourself daily that you are surrendering to Yeshua/Jesus you can simply pray “Jesus I give you my life”, or something along those lines. I also like the morning prayer (Modeh Ani) from the Jewish prayer book. Pour it all out to God. I also like watching the multi-season TV show about the people that met Jesus called “The Chosen”, or you could go directly to the source and read the gospel of John, Matthew, Luke and Mark (or any re-order of those four). I think realizing Yeshua/Jesus’ love for those who feel guilt-ridden & hopeless will help you to realize, that you are exactly the person He came for, lived for, and ultimately gave His life for! God bless you.
Thanks to Klavan I'm going to church and considering Christianity. ❤

Thank you to both of you 🙏
Bar mitzvah is either an important milestone in a religious Jewish life and family or a mere party in an irreligious family and life.
Just like a babtism. Was the case for my dad.
Very funny about Episcopalians, of course it varies from person to person.
Wow, amazing catch with Mr. Klavan.
Sorta feel bad for his atheistic parents, but I'm confident they've experienced the truth in the afterlife.
Everyone will experience the truth in the afterlife. Unfortunately, we cannot be saved and go to Jesus after death.
@4beachpeaches appreciate your religious beliefs, but I respectfully disagree. Jesus saves anywhere, anyhow, anytime.
A great testimony of an intellectual. Very cool Very inspiring
Praise Jesus ❤ thank you mr klavan

Interesting how a bar mitzvahed Jew can be considered secular.

Sadly in the mindset of atheistic "Jews-in-name-only" it's perfectly OK to follow any cultural ritual just as long as you really don't believe it!
Well this is awkward
