I have a great example of positive thinking that isn't New Thought. I had a physical therapy appt in a town 30 miles away. As I was leaving the VA facility, my car was pulling HARD to the right. I got out to check it and my right passenger tire was completely flat. I thought positively and thanked God that it didn't blow out 1/2 way between the VA and my house. The roads are very icy and there is nothing but mountains between here and there. The wrecker got to my location and the tire place was about 2 blocks from the VA. Now, if I had thought (pun intended) that somehow I had caused my tire to go flat because of my negative attitude about having to drive an hour on icy roads, that would be L.O.A. type conditioning. The only reason I thought about this example is because I had seen one of your podcasts and was trying to explain; to a friend of mine; the difference between generic positive thinking, and the Power of Positive Thinking. They were confused about the difference and I was trying to explain the difference, but my explanation wasn't working. Now, I have a better example to give them.
Thank you, Melissa! Your work has blessed so many, as evidenced by the comments below! We're so grateful for you and the time you gave our Maybe God community. We'd love to have you on again in the future!

This was a fantastic episode. Melissa is brilliant and yet she knows how to explain these seemingly abstract belief systems in a way that opens your eyes and makes you think; wow, I would never have been able to articulate it this way. She makes everything so clear and understandable. Thank you so much for having her on❤.

Preach it, sister God has raised you up for such an hour like this to reach your generation and the older generation. God bless you keep up the good work.
As a christian back in the 80's ther we was an explosion of New Thought with the introduction of Marianne Christianson and many others that followed suit. So I wrote a paper after researching all the authors at that time. I tried to pass the information to family and friends and was branded as a trouble maker and a negative person even thou all I had done was simply put down their quotes and teachings. So I am glad to see you have also produced the knowledge of these deceptions. Keep up the good work and God bless your work of exposing the deceptions!
This is sooooo good!! I see sprinkles of New Thought in so many Christians conversations. I knew something was off with these Christians but couldn’t put my finger on it
I'm getting this book. I have heard this New Thought verbiage throught my entire Christian journey of over 50 years. I have recognized much of it as man's attempt to be their own God, the original deception suggested by the serpent to Eve and Adam. Thank you for this content. It is so important, because it is rampant in Evangelical churches. Bethel in Redding comes quickly to mind. I've heard all of this in church after church throughout the decades. The subtlety requires discernment, and a close study of the scriptures. God bless you for putting out this message and book.
That's why it makes sense why Christ founded One True Church, so that one True church could defend against all these deceptions and protect the truth that was revealed to the apostles, until his secondcoming. If you go back in history, you would see that that church is the Catholic church. Yes , the Catholic church has a lot of corruption, but there's been corruption since the apostles, but the fullness of the Christian truth has been protected by the Catholic church. Good video! God bless!
@@fernandorios7108- there is more than corruption wrong with Catholicism as well as other denominations. Tom Wadsworth points out the slippery slope that led us there, and it led to FACILITATING corruption, unnecessarily. His 7-part series details the highlights of 50 years study focused on worship in the early church.
No lie: I'm 56 years old and would tell anyone I was Christian. The very first church I ever attended was Unity and they had a guest speaker (Mike Dooley) who taught a class in Law of Attraction. From there, I studied Christian Science, Neville Goddard et al. However I NEVER read the Bible myself cover to cover. Talk about a wake up call! I ordered your book Melissa and can't wait to learn more
One of the tricky things is that there ARE measurable frequencies on thoughts as well as objects, substances, etc. But I think af Moses, disobediently wielding power. The other trap I see is that Christians are so (rightfully) concerned with going into new age stuff, that they embrace the unbiblical idea of cessation, that God no longer expects Chridt-followers to obey Him - they are to preach the gospel, but NOT to have faith that God wants them to be His conduit to heal others, which causes them to deny the power of the Holy Spirit. There are believers who are strictly biblical - healing in Jesus' name - who can SCRIPTURALLY SHOW how our thoughts affect our faith, thus Paul tells us we have to discipline our minds and bodies, presenting ourselves a living sacrifice. Our brains and thoughts DO matter because it affects what we trust God with, and Jesus made it clear that outcomes depend on our faith. The deceptions of the new age tap into the power of the prince of the air. But too many believers are failing to obey Jesus fully over fears about new age. But Melissa is spot on that there are people who say they are Christian while being miles off of what the word says. I was horrified to hear one such person say she no longer believes we need forgiveness of sin. Devout on the outside, until you scratch the surface. She now insists on "inclusive" churches. Before I figured out what that meant, I went to church with her...the sermon was so bad, I immediately saw that the speaker was making up feel-good lessons that had no bearing on the point of the passage.
I followed New Thought ideas for a few years without knowing what it was. My greatest takeaway is that it makes you FEEL so good. I FELT so close to God. I FELT so much love for others. I FELT so much love for myself. It is 100% feeling based. It is a very dangerous ideology and we absolutely need to speak up about it.
Having been in a charismatic church for a few years I found a "word of faith" attitude which focused on what God can do for us rather than what we can do for God. Name it and claim it seems to make God into an ATM machine and believers into milk-fed infants.
I haven't been to a church that teaches like that (but have heard televangelists like that - and I always tuned them out). But I've also spent a lot of time in Scripture and missionary biographies, and saw that God provides, and that Brother Andrew, for example, list supporters when someone gave him a new Volkswagon to transport Bibles into iron curtain countries. I never forgot that. And I have missionaries in my family with their own stories. I'm slower to judge wealth in other believers, now, though I still get knee-jerk reactions about it sometimes.
I was in Walmart this week, and their radio announced, "Here is your affirmation of the day." I knew that was whacky, and they would never say, "Here is your Bible verse for the day." So glad to learn about New Thought. Also, greeting cards have New Thought ideas, "Sending you peace (or joy or life or sunshine . . .)" I buy cards from a company online, and I've been rejecting these cards, but I think I will throw them out. Look into George Fox and John Woolman about the Society of Friends (Quakers). Quakers believe everyone has the Light based on poor exegesis of John 1:9. Maybe it was KJV but they say "The True Light who enlightens everyone," meaning within. GREAT WORK YOU TWO!!!
The difference is, living in spirit and truth, is decreasing of self and increasing in Him. Apart from Him we can do nothing. I find new agers are claiming " ego death" but self elevation is like reframed pride.
If a person claims to be a Christian, then you can respond with the following statement and question. That’s great that you’re a Christian. What was your understanding of the gospel when you first became a Christian? Listen to the response and trust the Holy Spirit to lead you with the proper response to their response. An alternate question that works for pretty much anybody in case you’re not sure if they’re Christian or not is the following. Do you mind if I ask you a spiritual question? In my experience, most people will say sure go ahead. Ask this: do you believe in God why or why not? I’ve used the approach and people tell me a lot. Then I can respond appropriately. People tend to be kind of fuzzy on the gospel. To keep it clear and simple. I suggest to passages in John to look at if you can show it to them great if not, just be aware of it for yourself and share the gospel from this background. Read John 16: 8-11 and John3:16-18 . John 16:8-9 really focuses on the fact that belief in Jesus is the key and it focuses on that sin. People often want to talk about sins in the plural, but I like this text because it focuses on the sin singular of unbelief as the key.
Speak truth in love. It's the typical Christian answer, but when I had a friend in this, that is how I handled it. I just urged them to research some questionable things and eventually they got convicted by the Holy Spirit. I didn't tell them what to do, but just tried to be a different voice in their lives. They did eventually come out of it. That's why discipleship is so important for us and the people around us.
A South African here. Certainly in our church world here at the southern tip of Africa the nomenclature you discuss here aren't prevalent. Much of it, though, did start to ring bells with me. Melissa, I've come across the very same worldview when studying CW Leadbeater and the "Liberal Catholic Church" for my research on the Kundalini spirit (15 years ago) and its prevalence in the worldwide institutional church. CW Leadbeater was the understudy of Annie Besant and, to some degree, Madame Blavatsky. Leadbeater acted as co-founder of the Theosophical Society. To them, the "Christ principle" was basically what is known as Kundalini and its interaction with (for lack of a better term!) "the force" (Star Wars term). "The force", in my Christian understanding, is the created energy which cannot be measured with scientific instruments. The millennia-old pagan way of tapping into this vast "vat" of created, potential energy is to activate the Kundalini serpent in the spine - a practice which you would be very familiar with from your New Age days. So what am I saying? I'm saying that what you are dealing with in New Thought is most probably not a mere mindset or worldview. It's basically just one more version of the pagan philosophy (there are MANY!) of tapping into "the force" by means of Kundalini. What makes it so dangerous, as you've well stated, is that it's clothed in Christian jargon.
ANOTHER SOUTH AFRICAN HERE.WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS FUNDAMENTALLY WORSE.WE HAVE HIRELINGS AS PASTORS,WE HAVE BLASPHEMERS AND AROGENT PROUD PASTORS WHO HAVE NO FEAR OF GOD, ( OTHERWISE THEY WOULDNT BE PREACHING THE GARBAGE THEY DO) THERE IS CERTAINLY NO DISCERNMENT IN THE CHURCHES , OH THEY ALL CLAIM TO HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR MEETINGS.THE ONLY SPITIT IN OPERATION IS THE SPIRIT OF ANTI CHRIST!!! Bare with me, but it seems like new thought thinkers are trying to harness the power of God for their personal gains, rather than allowing God to work through them by His will for His purpose. Am I close? New thoughters seem transactional, which seems to bring you back to the garden and original sin. Original sin seems steeped in a transaction for power that was not ordained by God.
I the 70s, I got drawn into a Spiritualist Church in London called the White Eagle Lodge, which was very New Thought and superficially it appeared to be Christian. It was linked to Theosophy too, yet there were a lot of people who came through the doors thinking it was a 'normal' Church. However, initiates experienced other things, such as seances to discover your spirit guide, for example, as well as astrology and Yoga. When I saw Jesus during a seance, it was like mentioning a dirty word, the figure I described was too clearly the biblical Jesus rather than some supernatural being expressing their inner Christ. Apparently JC operates on a lower spiritual plane than the other elevated spiritual beings. Thankfully Jesus continued to reveal himself to me, until I finally recognised my utter need for him. For Jesus Christ, God's only Son and my Saviour and Lord for the last 45 years.
I've not watched your podcast before, great voice! Thanks for having Melissa on. I've followed her since 2022, she is responsible for getting me out of the WOF movement. Blessings to you both!
I was in a Christian cult 1989-1997. The books Melissa mentioned the pastor read & followed. Many televangelists & charismatic preachers preach the same thing. The pastor of the church I was in is now imprisoned for life for child SA & so many others spiritually abused. I believe my inoculation now is thorough knowledge of the Bible and a close relationship with Jesus.
I noticed how churches departed from the true message over the past 20 years, i started conducting my prayer and worship life from home. This prosperity nonsense and other delusions are dangerous lies.
My brother has been captivated by the new thought movement.. I'm super glad I found Melissa, she has been super helpful in having conversations with him! Has anyone else heard of the Urantia book? He is very much into studying it and i cant seem to find to many people who have even heard of it.
I've heard of it. It's sort of interesting. It's no harm in reading it. People have to find their own way what makes you think the Bible's is true and Urantia is not? Unless God told you himself that the Bible is the word of God. I wouldn't take anybody else's word for it it!
@@jdl2180Wait, what do you mean that unless God told you himself that the Bible is the word of God? Why isn’t it? Has God not spoken through His many prophets. And what did He say? By the way, we are all like sheep, just like Jesus said, we are all prone to wander, our heart can deceive us. Back in the garden, Eve told Satan that God had told them to not eat of the Tree which would lead to their death. Satan planted a seed of doubt into their minds about God’s motives; He didn’t want them to be like Him. We can’t ever be like God because we are His creation, and so we’re dependent for our very life on Him. Check it out for yourself, it’s in the first chapters of the first book of the Bible, Genesis. You can almost hear the lies drip from Satan’s mouth as he tells Eve, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1). We must all be discerning to not let the subtle lies of Satan trick us into believing him instead of believing the truth of God.
I love listening to Melissa! I have a friend trapped in New Thought beliefs and she has a great way of explaining how that belief system is not compatible with biblical faith
Oh wow Thankyou for this interview, there is so much deception in the world of the church. I very nearly got entangled in word of faith movement until l realised the teaching was very off. I even had to burn books!! Looking forward to your book Mellisa.
Melissa I am glad to hear you speak of Swedenborg. Years ago I visited a Swedenborg church in Brisbane, Australia. At the time I was a relatively new Christian and thought that this arm of the 'Christian' Church was legitimate, though I found it strange/esoteric in its teachings. The congregation comprised older affluent people. I wasn't drawn into it but can see how people of a particularly intellectual bent could find it mysteriously attractive. An older friend became very immersed and delivered lectures on Swedenborg's teachings. His life did not end well. Thank you for raising awareness.
There are only two ways of perceiving or thinking about reality: One is that all reality is basically a Oneness Unity SAMENESS, often called Quantum, Love, Energy, Vibrations, "Source", etc. The correct view is Discontinuity of reality between the Absolute Living Personal Infinite Creator Ontological Trinity. Read Peter Jones' books One or Two and The Other World View, and Rousas John Rushdoony's By What Standard, The Word of Flux, The One and The Many, by Francis Schaeffer his 3 book Trilogy, Nancy Pearcey Finding Truth, Steven Bancarz' book Second Coming of The New Age... If all reality is a basic Oneness SAMENES, then it is non personal with no abstract concepts or meaning or purpose, a deterministic closed machine... If the Personal Creator is Reality, then differentiations are possible and human created persons have cognizance and rationality and ability to make limited decisions between recognized alternatives, and we are accountable to the Ultimate Reality of the Personal Creator. The only alternative to the Personal Creator Who determines, owns, controls all reality is the Autonomous Independent SELF trying to control all reality by from for SELF by exempting SELF from the machine, a contradiction of Oness SAMENESS.
Yes! Some people in my old church would call God, source. It wasn't a particularly new thought church but more seeker sensitive. It's like a brainwashed word that people use. It is such a terrible way to talk about the Lord. I would never use that word. Someone needs to show me in the Bible where people called God, source. 🙄
When whoever was at the pulpit in our Pentecostal church, would pray for someone, they would ask the congregation to “stretch your hand towards” the person being prayed for. This went on for years, decades even (and still happens). One day in 2023, as I was stretching my hand out to the person being prayed for, I had the thought, what does your hand being stretched out and pointing toward the person being prayed for, do?🤔 I honestly for decades had never thought about that😬it was just something that we did! Why? I don’t know but I’ve never done it since👍🏾 I noticed that when T.D. Jake’s had his “health episode” on the stage/platform, when he was being prayed for the congregation automatically began to stretch their hands towards him💥🤔 How it all came about I do not know but, it smacks of New Age to me💯🇬🇧🇯🇲10 Jan 2025
Honestly, I have wondered that, too. I don't think it's anything dangerous, just weird. I don't don't do it anymore. I don't lift my hands if I don't want to, go to an altar, stand to be filled again with the Holy Spirit, blah, blah, blah.
I’m so thankful for Melissa. I think similar to her. I had lots of questions and saw my first Apologetic’s booth. I was so excited to start learning. The New Thought movement is so tricky. I’m so grateful to know about that term and be able to know this truth. Unfortunately I was indoctrinated in so many places into this movement. But no more! I’m free! Thank you Jesus for this message. 🙏
Where I work I come into a lot of people who constantly call themselves "chosen" and talk about God along side their ancestors talking to them, and them doing shadow work, their 3rd eye, and spiritual/ spirit realms, frequency, vibrations etc... the whole time they talk, I just pray for them. I walk a fine line when talking about Jesus and trying to talk to them because, again, I am at work... but it's a weird feeling when they enter, and their is just something off about them. I know that I am a follower of Christ, and who my God is but these people make me feel so under attacked. Seeing this video just confirms what I already felt but needed confirmation on. Thank you
Always believed in God and Jesus. My friend prayed for me since I didn't understand the Holy Spirit. I also had 4 years of sadness, angry, jealously over 2 people who broke my heart. My other friend said she didn't want to talk about my ex. She wasn't being mean but rather pretty much not talk about him so much or rather I think need to focus on my own life. So many months it continued to stay on my mind and then I thought it's time to forgive. I at that point, asked God to forgive me, asked everyone to forgive me even though I didn't ask them. Then I was told by God to open my Bible. It was then I realized I understood the Holy Spirit. ❤ I was reborn.
It is not possible to feel the Holy Spirit?. We should not put out the Baby with the Bathtub... We really should looking for the Lord in HIS word. The enemy tries to destroy the real believe too... It's all about Jesus, and Jesus did mirracles too, and yes we should believe in mirracles too and obey the LORD if he speaks to us to belive in this. This is not a simple diagnosis for every christian - everybody has to proof what he/she is beliving - not only follow a new warning movement. This would be wrong on the same way as new tought.
I'm sticking with God - Jesus - Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible, the world is rapidly heading towards destruction, and there is only eternal life through our saviour : Jesus Christ. God bless everyone and peace be with you, Emmanuel.
Isn’t it what Mormons also believe? That anyone can become a god and get your own planet, and that Jesus is not part of God (they don’t believe in Trinity).
The Bible DOES teach that ppl can become God, and the Bible does NOT show Jesus telling anybody that He is part of a trinity. The very first chapter in the Bible(Gen. 1:26-27) shows God creating mankind after His own kind, and 1 Jhn 3 clearly starts with the apostle saying Christians will look exactly as Christ is described in Rev. 1!
I didn't realize that Immanuel Swedenborg was precursor of New Thought!! The world headquarters for the church is near me (big money). He and his father were high up in Lutheran church in Sweden. He was ostracized/rejected by church back then. His credibility was his brilliance in science. Learned of him about 3 years ago, crazy teachings, aka marriage in heaven (somehow spins scriptures). He claims to have met Martin Luther and other famous people of his time in heavenly realms (makes entertaining fiction). After I came back to Jesus I realized the deception. It makes sense that Swedenborg was influence for New Thought, but not well known.
Yes! You have to wait for an outside source to come save you. Those homeless people and starving kids in Africa are not praying hard enough to be saved.
Mystic Religion! My sister was bothered by Demons all her life ! She passed from walking pneumonia in 2011 at 43 years old and so smart and Beautiful!!
I used to be a total sucker for this stuff, even though I grew up with parents solid bible teaching etc....now I am taking heed after the hell I went through having open doors to the deceiver!
2016 forward has many different kinds of biblical prints where the words were taken out, changed, meaning, intentions and added words that are used to accept what God would say he hates and is detestable is now taught in todays churches. Sadly, I left a church where his wife was copastor and he pushed things out because his wife's feelings. Sadly another church was scolding his congregation for being there many years and not participating. Then at the same church, was a leader from worship, had stopped the worship to make us sound like we weren't singing like we were already in heaven. I stopped going there as well. Sadly we were moving towards keeping this place as our new home. We also had a visitor pastor who said the tree of life was a grapevine of some sort because it he had referenced many scriptures sharing the "vine".
One big influence today who was influenced by Swedenborg is William Branham (John Collins has been uncovering all of this). He was one of the fathers of Latter Rain and Word of Faith, leading all the way to International House of Prayer and NAR.
I am declarations! Wow is immediately thought about Christians who decree and declare when they’re praying, thinking they’re being faith -full. Not i am but so presumptuous.
It doesn't make sense to call it "Metaphysical Christianity". All sects of Christianity have metaphysics. The type you're talking about just as a dualist view of reality taken from Plato's theory of the forms. Also - You talked about classical theism, panentheism, and pantheism. You were way off base on this. Evangelicalism has grabbed onto classical theism, which is the theology of Plato and Aristotle. This is not Christian metaphysics. Christian metaphysics is actually a type of Panentheism - that God is in all things, not that all things are in God. This is why there is sacramental forms of Christianity, and all of evangelicalism is non-sacramental because they believe in Plato's material/spiritual dualism. Both evangelicalism and "new age" are types of Platonist reinterpretations of Christianity. Evangelicalism just isn't esoteric, it is hyper rational, that's why you don't see it as being metaphysical. I appreciate that you're doing this research, but you've just found the tip of the iceberg. Investigate Orthodox Christianity next.
Why is everyone so afraid of being judged by someone else? If it's not the judgment of God, who cares? We all are being judged secretly by others constantly, and you secretly judge others in your own mind all the time. It's time to get over it.
So this is where my confusion is. "New thought" I was told explains how faith and the spiritual realm works essentially like a science because it explains order for how God operates and created people to operate. I was told the reason for this self-help/new age way of thinking was a way to essentially hijack what God created for servicing yourself without being subject to divine authority. "New thought" really originates from Christianity and the language was formulated by new agers that caused Christians to disregard the science of "new thought". But now since Christians operate by the principles of faith without having the same "language", ex-newagers are saying that Christians are operating in new age way of thinking but it was principles of God's design to begin with, when Christians are being accused of using new age tactics it's really new agers that have used the fundamental spiritual principles to serve their own desires in the first place. The problem with using "new thought" in christianity is when Christians use spiritual principles to serve themselves vs serving God and eachother. The spiritual principles are not evil, the self-serving intent in how you practice faith is. You're blaming the "gun" for being satanic, it's a tool that's used to serve an agenda, either yours or God's kingdom purposes. Those "angels" were revealing truth but in a perverted way to stroke the self-serving desires of that author, to live independently without God.
Is there a Christian Bible and a different one that's a Catholic Bible? Is it the same one, why were certain things purposefully left out, why were things changed between versions, and after the King James version why did he threaten to "un-alive" anyone with a copy of any other older version, seems a bit extreme... Why do they say that God is only good, obviously God is love but God also created Good and Evil which means he is both. How many confusing, contradicting things about all the different versions of everything. There have been so many things that have been made by man to divide and control us in one way or another...
What is the definition of love according to New Thought? They make up their own definition instead of how the Bible defines it and illustrates it. It is quite arrogant because they delude themselves that they know what it is better than God. It is an attitude that God hates.
Love it Love it LOOOOVE IT!!!.. I'm definitely going to get the book📚(Happy lies) ...I have my apologetics 'study bible', Alisa childers book(another gospel) Greg koukls book(tactics).. and my arsenal ⚔will be SET!!!✊🏿✝️ Great interview Melissa! God bless✝️👑😊
Frequencies are not considered New Thought. I have never heard of that. One of the most solid Christians I know, involved in treating patients via naturopathy, uses Rife technology. In no way is this New Age or New Thought. You have to be able to separate out.
Melissa is talking about 'THOUGHT' frequencies and not 'ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD', frequencies. @ 46:40, quote, "There is too much power there now given to the creation." [by new thought]. God created, electromagnetic fields.
“Rife” I would encourage you to do more research into this kind of therapy. A quick search came up with this. ‘ The types of unproven therapies used to treat cancer patients with “medical devices” vary considerably. Usually they are completely without evidence other than anecdotes. The types of devices include so-called “energy machines” that can supposedly cure cancer and eliminate AIDS by transmitting electromagnetic waves through the body. The “Rife” machine has been claimed to be effective against cancer by causing "differentiation" of cancer cells into normal cells by eliminating microorganisms that caused the cancer. There is no evidence to support this therapy but it is widely available.’

So glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, Melissa is a natural teacher. I enjoy her a lot!

Did you ever publish the paper? What are the other names of the individuals involved?
This is sooooo good!! I see sprinkles of New Thought in so many Christians conversations. I knew something was off with these Christians but couldn’t put my finger on it
New Thought is satanism but differently packaged. Just like new age, hinduism, islam etc. Jesus is the only God and the only way.
Absolutely right!
I have watched Melissa Dougherty for years now as well. This has been one of the best interviews for “Happy Lies”. Really looking forward to the book.
So glad you enjoyed it!
It seems to me what is so attractive about New Thought is that you don't have to bend the knee to Christ.
what exactly does that mean?
@jdl2180 it's not necessarily centered around Christ.
@@Coco_mla is that a good thing or a bad thing?
@jdl2180 it's bad thing.
LOL….Jesus taught this….no, love is the key vs. the false doctrine of original sin is needed to propagate the false doctrine of “hell”
I ordered your book Melissa and can't wait to learn more
Great!! Learn what it means when Jesus said you must be born again.
New Thought sounds like what Satan promised Eve: that she would be like God.
Great job Melissa, as usual. Melissa's awesome at making complicated concepts understandable 😊
I followed New Thought ideas for a few years without knowing what it was. My greatest takeaway is that it makes you FEEL so good. I FELT so close to God. I FELT so much love for others. I FELT so much love for myself. It is 100% feeling based. It is a very dangerous ideology and we absolutely need to speak up about it.
how do you feel now? separated from God?
Wow, Guideposts! We had that magazine through all my childhood! Wow
Me too!
So many people wanna say who Jesus was and what he did... but how many actually wanna do what Jesus said?
I'm not in Walmart often, but I also once heard an in-store announcement about their support of their LGBTQIA employees.
The difference is, living in spirit and truth, is decreasing of self and increasing in Him.
Apart from Him we can do nothing.
I find new agers are claiming " ego death" but self elevation is like reframed pride.
Maybe melissa needs to be on Joe Rogan...just putting it out there.
@JREPodcast @JoeRogan yeah, by all means reach 19+ million people in presenting love and the truth. I love Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior

All praise to our Mighty Lord, I thank the Lord for this happening in your life.
The best way not to be fooled by any religion is to know the Bible thoroughly by regular study and meditation.
The next thing or question is how do we live with Christians we interact with who are clearly into New Thought.
Great question! Any ideas?
Melissa has a phenomenal memory for names and detail.
My son tried to tell me about vibrations and frequencies. He wanted my husband and I to listen to "angel" music (tones). No!
I'LL NAME A FEW....ANDRE ROEBER, BOSHOFF, NAR,ALL PROSPERITY DOCTRINE, MUST I GO ANY FURTHER.....BUT DON'T WORRY, GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED AND WILL REVEAL PUBLICALLY AND BRING TO OPEN SHAME TO WHAT HERESY IS BEING PASSES OFF AS THE WORD OF GOD. I first heard of the Kundalini spirit via Prof. Walter Veith a great South African Bible teacher who exposed these satanic lies & deception in his video series 'Total Onslaught'
@@which1isitnope we arent racist here.our government try to push the racist narative to try and keep us devided but that trick is getting tired now ❤😊
We live in the time of the Laodicean Church.
Wow, that's powerful! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great conversation and interesting info!
Please please have a discussion about John Mark Comer’s book (/movement) “Practicing The Way”!
Scary to think about! New thought totally defies John 15
Sometimes the only difference that we can discern is pride.
I was just about to type Richard Rohr's name when Melissa finally mentioned it!
Can't wait to read Melissa's upcoming book!
Oh wow Thankyou for this interview, there is so much deception in the world of the church. I very nearly got entangled in word of faith movement until l realised the teaching was very off. I even had to burn books!! Looking forward to your book Mellisa.
She is not the

Exposing this subject.
My Missionary Spencer has made documentaries his 3rd Adam series on this very subject.
How do you know someone is a New Thought believer? When they exclaim, "Oh my Thought!" instead of "OMG!".
This was good. I bought my book, can't wait to dive into it😂
Only book you need is the bible and spiritual discernment .
I see a lot of people call God “ creator source”
Did bro just say New Thotty/Thoughty? I love the video but this made me lol 👍🏾 1:00:08
I also have walked this New thought journey and it felt soooo good!
Why? I don’t know but I’ve never done it since👍🏾
I noticed that when T.D. Jake’s had his “health episode” on the stage/platform, when he was being prayed for the congregation automatically began to stretch their hands towards him💥🤔
How it all came about I do not know but, it smacks of New Age to me💯🇬🇧🇯🇲10 Jan 2025
All you are doing is symbolically laying hands on someone. Don't worry, it isn't new age.
Honestly, I have wondered that, too. I don't think it's anything dangerous, just weird. I don't don't do it anymore. I don't lift my hands if I don't want to, go to an altar, stand to be filled again with the Holy Spirit, blah, blah, blah.
So informative! Thank you both!
The scary part is people don't know which churches are ok and which are new thought
Read the Bible and listen to people who do what it says. It’s not easy at all.
Great job Eric! Women communicate on a higher plane then us guys.😊 You brought the conversation back to where us guys could get it.
Vibrations and frequencies. I hear neo-charismatics or hyper-charismatics use the phrase, “shift in the atmosphere.”
Thank you. Looking forward to your book.
I'm sticking with God - Jesus - Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible, the world is rapidly heading towards destruction, and there is only eternal life through our saviour : Jesus Christ. God bless everyone and peace be with you, Emmanuel.
It's amazing how New Thought sonds like Word-of-Faith theology!
Wonderful!

I look forward to the book too! I’m waiting…twenty more days.
Thank you very much. I can relate totally…… love and blessings,!
Nice how Melissa slipped in, “It’s in the Bible…or something.” 😂😂❤❤
Yep, it definitely is a problem that too many people believe they are in possession of THE TRUTH.
I look forward to watching more of this channel. Thanks for all do for Jesus. 🙏
Awesome interview. Love Melissa!
Eric and Melissa, thanks for speaking these truths. I have been looking for others who also believe churches are deceived about biblical truth.
Thank you! Great info Melissa. 👍

Is Guideposts still under the influence of Peale’s New Thought?

Frequencies are not considered New Thought. I have never heard of that. One of the most solid Christians I know, involved in treating patients via naturopathy, uses Rife technology. In no way is this New Age or New Thought. You have to be able to separate out.
Melissa is talking about 'THOUGHT' frequencies and not 'ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD', frequencies.
