I have this and want my PDP media remote I for PlayStation 4 back. That one not only had the face/shape buttons on it but also L1/L2 R1/R2. But the main thing I use the Media Remote for is when I watch Blu-rays. And for some reason I cannot fathom they took out the chapter skip buttons and ONLY have the rewind and fast forward buttons.
Can i pair this with my ps5 running on my benq mobiuz monitor and will it control the monitor power and volumes too? Very curious
Too often bluetooth issues, drains batteries too fast in last two months i have changed batteries twice.
I had original Sony batteries and they were emptied through few weeks. Until I learned how to use remote, checked options with console, watched one movie and few episodes of some series..time for new batteries. And normally option to shut it off after certain time i think it is set up on 10 minutes.
Is anybody have an issues PS5 media remote with still cutting the TV on and off and the volume works but as far as navigating the controls for the PlayStation no longer works 🤔

there's no input selector on this remote, so you have to use the tv remote to get it back to TV.

the ps5 doesn't like playing nice with other hdmi systems lol. My series x is set to turn on the tv wihen i power it on but the ps5 will override it by turning itself on as well.
lol. It will also change the current hdmi input to the ps5 input when it turns on. It's a very possesive electronic.

Why no body is trying to connect this thing with an android tv or smart tv and tries if you can pair it with Bluetooth to your tv. Ridiculous

Nope why would Sony make ps5 remotes compatible with another console other than a ps5 like cmon dude use your brain. You can only turn your tv on and off and control the volume for compatible tvs.
You cant log in with a password though? You still have to log in with the controller and then mess around turning it off, to then use the remote. Why doesnt it have R1/R2 & L1/L2???

I think it's powers it off but you could also put it in rest mode by going to power it's easy

Why did you not mention that the mic does not work for any app on the media remote. You just mentioned that it exists. Really disappointed! I came here just to find out how to set that up.

Got this as i use the PS5 more as a media app than to play games. Sorry but one of the worst remotes Ive ever had. It only works 50% of the time as it loses connection with the PS5 constantly & you have to reconnect it. Design is poor. Its too small to hold, the buttons are far too shallow & fiddly, very difficult to press & they are barely raised above the surface. The battery compartment also rattles and the Sony batteries ran out after a week. 1/10 from me 😉

Slippery plastic design and i would expect a magic remote type of feature at least. Basic

I think this thing is garbage, for what you pay. I don't have little tiny hands and fingers that work well with this. It's too small. The buttons are too flush, you can barely feel them popping out, no textured rubber, it just feels flat and with no backlight at all, it feels like a flat piece of paper. I think the design is crap as well. Why not put a regular type d-pad on it instead of the crap little directional buttons? The only good thing is that you can use it instead of the PS5 controller and save battery life, but think I'd rather just buy another controller. Garbage!
