Hi there Metal-Head. You made the mounting in a complicated way. Always mount each shoulder onto the curves and straights, when the curves and straights are not mounted together. That way, you can pre-install the clips on each shoulder-piece much easier and click them on the curves and straights. Than, shove the whole unit onto the other and voila, you won`t have to frickle that much. Each clip will slide into the holes and snap on very easy. Especially if you mount inner shoulders, as well. Believe me, it works way better. Once you`ve done that the way I discribed it, you will have the, I see, moment.
Nice shirt. I have been to that concert in Hannover, Germany in 1987. What a trip that was. I stood in the inner Football stadium, on the grass and before the concert started, you could hear birds singing, although there were no trees around. ??? The first keyboard bass tone had let the whole stadium vibrate as hell. The whole concert was a trip!!! I did not drink, or smoke anything, to enjoy the whole concert. It was actually not necessary. You got high, simply be the music and show-effects. When they gave the encores, they would not stop to play one encore after the other. I thought I should leave a bit before they had finnished the encores. So, I was outside about, half a mile away and you could hear the sound as if you were still insdie the stadium. Still playing encore after encore! On my way home, I was still so affected by the show, that I missed to take the right exit for my home-town and kept on riding. About 30 miles before Hamburg, I realized, I missed the exit. I had to run over the country-side to get home, without taking the de-tour on the Autobahn (Highway).
The city of Venice had forbidden PF to play again in their city, because the concert had damaged a lot of historical buildings there. The concert had to be stopped during the show.
Some years later, in the arly 90`s, I went to the same Stadium in Hannover, to see them for the Division Bell tour concert. Same show nearly, besides the stage was different and the pig, they ran above the peoples, looked different. The big flower, that opened during the show, was mounted behind the mixing desk. In the Royal Albert Hall in London, it was mounted underneath the ceilling then. That had more visual impact then.
Keep rocking and if you have any questions about the Carrera System(s), ask me. Don`t be shy to do so. We all learn each day and if you are insecure about certain things in terms of slotcars and the track stuff, let me know. I can give you some hints. This may sound like a smart ass, but be assured, I know a lot about it. I run Carrera since I was 12 years old. Now, I just turned 60 this week. I am a member in sc forums and in the slotcar community, here on YT, I am known for my knowledge. So, feel free to do so. I could not find an e-mail address in your channel discription, so you would have to answer to me on this comment. 😉😎

Thanks, when I rebuild the track. I will put them on that way. Yes 88 for me. A great year for music. It was a good show.
      Rock on!

You can shave some off the depth and width if you feel it needs it. Just use a hobby file or some sand paper of choice. Take only a bit at time. Till it is where you want.
I had to take some depth off the one for my 69' Plymouth Road Runner.

a good corner brace instead of using unused track is to use composite shims or wood shims from home improvement store. You can stack them up a couple high if needed and just hot glue them together.

I do use them in some places. Great idea on the hot glue for more than 1!
      thanks for the tip.

I just couldn’t see spending the money on Carrera borders, so I’m making my own instead. They’re cut to fit out of foam insulation panels. I wound up using body filler to smooth out the transitions between the track and the borders.
After painting it all to look like either asphalt or concrete, it really tricks the eye. Because the track limits lines and curbs don’t just run parallel to the slots anymore, the rails appear to be approximating a racing line. Cars on the inside dive onto the curbs at the apex of each curve, while cars on the outside have plenty of room to drift without gaining the advantage of wall-sliding.
I’m about 1/3 of the way done with the curves on a 72ft track.

I fully understand that. I considered doing that. Would love to see your track.
