One of the best Carrera Slot Car tracks in America! Race day at Brown Bison Raceway!

- The Two Lines guys made the trip to Legrange, KY for a race day at one of the nicest home tracks we have ever seen.. period. Steve Hulsman's Brown Bison Raceway is a fantastic 2 lane Carrera Digital/Analog layout that is approximately 120 feet in lane length. It is a great combination of varying radius turns and quick straights that really challenge the slot car racer.
We raced Vintage Lemans, Fly Classic and SlotIT Group C cars on the day.

Sad to see so many people there yet only running two cars on that great digital track. Nothing against analog, but that was clearly made/designed as a digital track, otherwise it could be a pretty decent 4 lane analog track in that large space.
Greg, thanks for checking out my video. I really appreciate the comment. Big track took 6 marshals, 15 guys there… the only thing impacted was practice, two at a time. I am sure Steve plans to host another race where we will run digital. There were specific classes on this day as part of a summer series he is running. Most of the guys there don’t run digital, they usually run on a wood track. 🤷🏻♂️ it would be great fun digital. Maybe next time…

I had a huge custom tyco super G-plus track i put together.. I bought tons of extra track along with the high bank Daytona turns. . parma 30 ohm controllers with brakes. I had Some 20v. Aurora transformers that i wired up to each lane.. This eliminated voltage drops when pulling off of one 18 v transformer.. Makes a huge difference in performance. We used to have 8-10 guys coming over with monster tackle boxes filled to the gills with cars and parts. We'd race all day and lae into the AM. Had a blast!! Sure miss that track. Someone broke into my cottage and stole the whole deal. Cars and all.. i was pissed. I had it all packed up. 🤬🤬🤬

That's some awesome layout for a track. But yes you probably need to see more cars on it. A four lane would be nice. I'm turning my track eventually into a more professional slide track, but this is what I run now. Four lanes

This is an awesome track. Can somebody explain to me why there are places where the track doesnt come completely together ? I noticed more than a few places on the curves.
It’s the nature of Carrera track and its connector system.
It was a great day and Stephen is a awesome host and a great all around guy. I am glad Marty got to make it down because i knew he would love the flow of the track and it was a beautiful day out spent with some of the best slot guys i know!

A great one here Marty. First and foremost, thanks Marty for taking us all along for 'the ride'. A real cool and relaxing vibe after what has otherwise been a busy working week. Interesting to see the fresh leaves on the trees are in the self same 'vibrant green' early flushes as they are over here in southern England - only you guys have so much more space to play with - a public highways reference. The BB Speedway is a most splendid layout. I particularly love that sweeping R4 leading into the main straight away. If there is one thing I would do differently then that would be to do away with those tight 'S's which lead into it. Still, a first clast host and layout and facility. The classes seemed to work well and the good thing about a track of this length is that it betrays the differences between the brands or classes. The Thunderslot Can Ams looked to me to be smooth, fast and robust whereas the Fly cars appeared lighter, less fast and a bit of a 'rattle' but nevertheless good enough to be just as much fun when set against each other only in a different class. I didn't really catch enough of the Slot.IT Group C but I imagine much the same as the Thunderslots. All in all, a memorable day out. If it were a three hour drive for me then I would certainly accept an invitation to do it.
Darren, you nailed it. Can Am’s are fast and smooth! The Fly are always on the edge of chaos.. even though they are slower 😂 group c land in the middle. It is a fun track!

Lover the use of the foam core for the walls. Especially where the extend down where the track is elevated. I can see how they are fastened to the table but is there something else to keep them tight to the track? I'm curious what it would have looked like with black foam core?
The use of the border all the way around on both sides is a striking look. In the layout we have going on we need the track to stay narrower in order to fit on the current table. Plus, there is the cost of that much more border.
David, he had a lot of little “L” brackets supporting the walls screwed into the table. Steve did an amazing job on fit and finish. He wanted to build a plastic track that flowed, looked and raced like a wood track. I think he succeeded.
Impressive for sure - I would have liked to see the white foam board done in light grey.... but that would be nitpicking a masterpiece.
That really is an awesome track, Marty. Of course, I see those big expanses of green in the middle and think - "wow, the scenery I could drop into that spot..." 😅🤣😂

WOW - IMPRESSIVE - It may be the most impressive Carrera layout I have ever seen. There are many tracks out there that are expertly adorned with trees, buildings and accessories; But Im not sure I've seen such an impressive layout in terms of magnitude and choice of layout.

Big Carrera tracks are always an impressive sight, it's those big sweeping bends I think. It just screams "drive me!"

Marty, were the Fly classics dead stock?
Yes, except for tires and guides.
And allowed to drill front axle holders 1/8 in. Install brass,alum,etc...tubing ,then use stock plastic pin, or I use brass,or alum tubing for axle, with small collar on inside. Works great,..D.Rogers showed me that😉
