For 5.0 Mustang owners curious about this exhaust for a daily driver: I just installed this catback on my 2015 GT Performance Pack. It's raw and aggressive when you want it to be, and docile when crusing. Absolutely zero drone, and on the highway its barely audible in 6th gear. Fantastic choice, and as a driver you can pick when you want the thunder. Recommended.
Wow....i'm the kinda person that has alwasy WANTED to be impressed with borla...but sadly never really am. Until NOW! Veryyyy impressive for such a simple setup!
This system has no drone. I put around 100 miles on it today and love the growl! Lots of compliments today. I would compare them with the same interior sound as the Roush on the 11-14.
I have to agree with you Bob! I had to have my brother drive my car so I could appreciate the sound from the outside! It really does sound amazing! I have a Steeda CAI with tune, and the growl it gives off is something I could never get tired of!
I bought this exhaust for my 2016 GT. It sounds great. It gets your attention when you start it and is plenty loud when you get on the gas. I wouldn't want anything louder than this. Looks great on my car too. I would recommend it.
You asked, so we're delivering. You wanted to see the install and hear the sound of the Ford Racing by Borla cat back exhausts, so we've delivered. Check it out and order the Ford Racing by Borla cat back exhaust for your 2015 Mustang today, and check back, as plenty more 2015 Mustang installations and sound clips are just days away! www.cjponyparts.com/ford-racing-by-borla-cat-back-exhaust-system-2-1-2-sport-stainless-steel-with-4-chrome-tips-gt-2015/p/M5200M8SC/
I'm a little confused, I thought some cutting was required to install these catback systems? I've noticed different people cutting on their resonators off.
Damn, this thing should come on the car stock. Incredible difference between this and the stock exhaust. Too bad the OEM exhaust has to satisfy noise requirements all around the world, that suitcase alone looks to be 25lbs on its own.
Nice exhaust but isn't an X Pipe were two pipes join as one exhaust flow and split back out into two separate exhausts? This one looks like the pipes are only joined by welds however the exhaust gases/pulses never meet. Thus why the sound of this exhaust is rumble versus a smoother constant flow. Still sounds great .... just asking.
How is the interstate speed cruising volume on this vs the Borla S-Type? I love the tone of both but I do several 500+ mile trips on my car every year. My 3V had a Roush set (the 5" can style one that came on factory Roush's, not the extreme) and at 70mph there was terrible drone and it was a little too loud for comfort. It wasn't bad for short trips but getting out of the car after a 5 hr stretch made you feel like you just stepped into a library.
wow, nice, sounds amazing. wonder if ford offers this as a factory option install or the dealer has to install after delivery, i would add this to my car for sure if i were to get one, also wondering if this gives about as much hp/tq as the gibson and magnaflow based off their dyno sheets.
Sonicaceman I would have to agree. It would still benefit a whole lot if the cats were eliminated from the headers and aftermarket longtubes were installed + tune.
very true but since the cats are part of the headers in the new s550 i'm guessing any longtube setup will automatically eliminate the cats, not sure why they took this approach with the manifolds, both sides are so different when it comes to the manifolds, the aftermarket will figure it out i'm sure, all we can do is wait and see what they come up with.
being in new york state, i'm hoping they change this in the upcoming years. i might end up getting an older 11-14 stang and putting some shorties on it as the new headers will be expensive no doubt and a longtube setup like you said will eliminate the cats which will make it a no go for my state, the resonator delete and a good axleback will sound killer, i've heard some already so if i go with a newer s550 in the future that might be my route. i have time, i'm lookin down the road more than 5 years, plenty of time for the aftermarket :)
CJ Pony Parts, did you guys get some sound pressure level reading? I would love to hear the touring to compare. On my 2012 it had BBK shorty's with BBK cat delete down pipe through BBK x pipe and out Roush axel backs. Great sound but I did get complaints on the loudness. So as long as the FRPP sport is not excessive, I'm in!
Hi guys, I purhcased this exhaust from you a few weeks ago and I love it. I was wondering if the newly released ARH long tubes are directly compatible with this exhaust, or will there have to be some modifications made before they fit?
I have not dyno'd it but FRPP claims gains and several others have seen them as well. The factory resonator is restrictive for sure, the sound difference between a cat back and an axle back is night and day. It's roughly 30lbs lighter.
legal emission wise sure is but nothing is legal when it comes to noise at least here in CA. This set ups though as long as you dont deep your foot when a cop is around you should be fine for the most par.t

Ordered this exhaust and installed and gotta say its easy to install and sounds great , night and day difference . Worth every penny .

Just installed this cat-back, was scared it was too loud but it’s not obnoxious at all, best choice I made instead of touring!

I put this on my 15 gt and love it. no drone at any time even low rpms
Yum! I think I like this system better than the Magnaflow.
This is the best 2015 Mustang GT exhaust.
Your vids are always on point. Thanks. I'm buying this so I'm going to CJ Pony Parts to support your great videos.
I've got SR X pipe and American Thunder and it's loud af inside and outside just like this system imo
Damn, this thing should come on the car stock. Incredible difference between this and the stock exhaust. Too bad the OEM exhaust has to satisfy noise requirements all around the world, that suitcase alone looks to be 25lbs on its own.
oh my god ....... roush has some competition .
Damn, that sounds killer!
That sounds amazing I love raspy in your face loud and rough! Big fan of Borla!
Love the jams playing during the Video, Great Job Bill !
sounds awesome I think this is the exhaust I'm going with.
Bill i wish i could work with you... this is a amazing job.
What intake would you suggest goes best with this exhaust
Sounds great. You can definitely tell the tinny sounding resonator is gone.
Which is louder this or the borla s type?
the stype is the best hands down.
Nice exhaust but isn't an X Pipe were two pipes join as one exhaust flow and split back out into two separate exhausts? I'ts a true X pipe, the pipes do cross internally.
Bill Tumas Okay cool, I just could tell from the quick screen shots.
have you had a chance to dyno/tune with the new exhaust and intake?

Is there going to be a video of the touring system? Unfortunately I live in the only state where the sport is illegal...
Yes we will do the touring as well in the future
cool thanks
Me too but I still might end up getting it.
sounds great!
I have this cat back exhaust system , where can I buy this exact x pipe so it fits my cat back?
That is the x pipe that Ford Performance includes with the kit.
wow, nice, sounds amazing. wonder if ford offers this as a factory option install or the dealer has to install after delivery, i would add this to my car for sure if i were to get one, also wondering if this gives about as much hp/tq as the gibson and magnaflow based off their dyno sheets.
Only 2.5 inch piping vs Gibson and Magnaflow's 3. Idk how much of a difference that really makes if any but I'm sure the gains won't be bad.
i'm sure most of the gains come from eliminating that insanley huge resonator in the middle of the exhaust and the restrictive stock mufflers also
Sonicaceman I would have to agree. It would still benefit a whole lot if the cats were eliminated from the headers and aftermarket longtubes were installed + tune.

Bill any impact on the back pressure to engine in case resenator replaced with x pipe
Hey Bill, what are you tightening those bolts down to with your impact drill?
CJ Pony Parts, did you guys get some sound pressure level reading? I would love to hear the touring to compare. On my 2012 it had BBK shorty's with BBK cat delete down pipe through BBK x pipe and out Roush axel backs. Great sound but I did get complaints on the loudness. will it sound the same if i just buy the ford racing axle and the ford racing x pipe? not the whole catback.
What would be a good set of headers to pair with this exhaust system?
Kooks!👍🏿
What wheels/rims are those?
Do these require a tune to get the most out of them?
No a cat back will not require a tune
catbacks don't require tunes, though a tune would still benefit any car. Once you take the cats off that's when you need a tune.
This or the roush axle back exhaust. I need to know.
Cat-back is always better than axle-back exhausts...always
Is this or the mbrp race catback system louder? I have MBRP Race currently but looking to replace it.
does it drone?
what headers will work with this catback?
Hi guys, I purhcased this exhaust from you a few weeks ago and I love it. I was wondering if the newly released ARH long tubes are directly compatible with this exhaust, or will there have to be some modifications made before they fit?
We will be doing an install video on the ARH next week but yes they will work with the FRPP cat back.
Is this available through Ford dealerships? I'm assuming it's Ford's own product so they can install it and still keep the warranty.
It is available right here at CJ Pony Parts and will not void your warranty.
Bill Tumas
Will this exhaust pass emissions?
Do you know how much weight this set up saved?
Just over 30 lbs
At least 20, I don't think more than 30 though.
that resonator has to be heavy as hell
What is louder, this or the Borla ATAK?
Kenny McWilliams The ATAK for sure
Probably the Borla 'S' Type ?!
Hey by any chance did y'all wight the factory catback?
It is listed at 70 lbs
holy crap thats heavy!
What's the difference between this system and the one you put on your personal car (blue)?
The Sport it a little louder
Hey Bill does the ford racing exhaust improve HP? Also is it lighter then stock system?
I have not dyno'd it but FRPP claims gains and several others have seen them as well. The factory resonator is restrictive for sure, the sound difference between a cat back and an axle back is night and day. It's roughly 30lbs lighter.
5:59
and thanks for the awesome videos
Are these street legal since it's from Ford?
car still has cats and mufflers... yes.
legal emission wise sure is but nothing is legal when it comes to noise at least here in CA. This set ups though as long as you dont deep your foot when a cop is around you should be fine for the most par.t
For all the people getting the ecoboost mustang......open your ears and listen to that GT!! lol
That's perfect
hi, i just wanna make sure that this cat back can fit 2015 V6 mustang ?
Simranpreet singh legha They won't. Ford Racing hasn't released any for V6s yet.
+CJ Pony Parts Do you ship Internationally?
The Magnaflows sound better, larger 3" pipes,
"Let's take it for a spin"
Despite it being borla I like it.
for my taste the predecessor with GT500 mufflers sounds a bit better.
I dont like that new raspy touch of this coyote sound.
I don't like the way that it makes that weird echo sound inside the muffler sounds super Ricey
too bad the taillights are ugly ....says everyone
