  • Bill shows you how to install a Ford Performance By Borla Stainless Steel Touring 2-1/2" Cat-Back Exhaust System with 4" Black Exhaust Tips on your 2015-2017 GT Mustang.
    Purchase Product Here:
    www.cjponypart...
    The Touring cat-back exhaust is the perfect exhaust for those who want a more aggressive muscle car sound but also has a smooth low tone, with no drone and not a lot of cabin noise while driving. This system is 50 State drive-by noise legal as well as 100% emission compliant.
    This is an easy bolt-on installation, although you may want some extra help when removing the heavy one-piece factory system. A few basic hand tools and this system can be installed in about an hour.
    The Ford Racing Touring Cat-Back is available with chrome tips or black tips. Since this is Bill's personal car, he chose the black tips and they were the exact look he was going for. This cat-back looks great with the Deep Impact Blue and sounds awesome. If you are looking for an upgraded exhaust make sure you check out the Touring Series Cat-Back from Ford Racing fitting your 2015, 2016 or 2017 GT Mustang.

    Definitely think I'd choose this over the sport version, for the same reasons that Bill Tumas mentioned in a few other comments. Any additional upgrades (headers, hi-flow cats, no cats) are only going to make whatever system you have louder. There are ALOT of complaints going around right now about drone with almost any catback for the S550...I think folks are forgetting that the resonator is what combats drone...and with any aftermarket catback...you're removing that.
    Bill Tumas do you think there is any *real* need for 3" piping (a la the Magnaflow system)? If you're not going forced induction...won't you be just fine with a 2.5" system all the way back?

    Bill, I read that you've had both sport and touring on the car, was the sport obnoxiously more louder? I'm looking into either one, but I don't want my exhaust to be like, "Hey everyone! Look at me!" And thank you so much on all your vids man! They are so detailed and every informative...

    • @Zerogivengarage

    Hey Bill,
    2015 Mustang GT Premium DIB with PP on order...
    I am considering getting this exhaust. I like that it's not super loud all the time and I won't drive myself crazy on a long trip. Down the road I would like to go with a Roush phase1 suprecharger and possibly long tube headers. Any reason I shouldn't go with this exhaust with that in mind? If not can you suggest a better option? What long tube headers would you install?

    love the no drone in cab exhaust note. what other bolt on parts would you suggest I add at the same time?
    as far as tuning goes would you suggest a chip set to handle bolt ons in a pre tune or would I be best of getting it on the synonyms with some software?

    No Headers? Or was that an earlier vid? :) Will you get a power gain from the exhaust? Or is it just for sound? I am not running a muffler right now. Cats but no muffler. It sounds great. Loud. I would put on a Muffler if it was this loud.. I don't want to lose my sound.. :)

    Thanks for this video Bill. You are a lucky man. I can't even order mine until late March, & when it finally comes in, I want to put the Borla Touring catbacks on it as well. After seeing this video it helped me make my decision. Also, you do have the same color (DIB) I've been wanting & with the Perf Pkg. I will probably order the 401A Shaker pkg too. As of late tho, I've been considering the Ingot Silver with the PP. Just curious if you've regretted your color choice?? I heard the blue is a dirt magnet (similar to black), which is why I am considering the Ingot Silver. I think with the PP's black wheels, the silver even looks a little better. Your thoughts?? Thx in Advance Dennis

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the DIB, every time I walk into my garage I am happy with my decision. I like silver as well but would not trade my DIB for anything. I do wish I had the better stereo but I didn't want to pay for some of the other things in that package.

    • @MrBrownbear46
      @MrBrownbear46 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Tumas Thx Bill. The wife likes the DIB as well, hates the silver. I like the DIB too so I guess I know what color I'll be ordering. I've heard the Shaker 401a option has a great sounding stereo. I like the idea of a blind spot indicator too. Happy driving. Can't wait to get mine. Dennis

    • @Zerogivengarage

    Hey Bill, love the car! Im waiting for my deep impact blue GT to be delivered. I thought i was set on the Ford Racing "Sport" exhaust, until i saw this vid. Since you've experienced both the "Sport" and the "Touring" exhausts, can you give me your opinion on both systems sound in/out of the car. It seems like the Sport is more raspy and the Touring is deeper. Do both sound the same from the inside? At full throttle?
    Thanks and great work on the channel!

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The touring is a little quieter than the sport, Very similar tone, just a little less volume. I plan on headers and an offroad pipe eventually so these are perfect for me and I think they sound great as is.

    • @fgonzales11b
      @fgonzales11b 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that a popular, low-cost solution on the 2011-14 5.0 is to delete the factory resonators and put on GT500 mufflers. It sounds GREAT. I bet that there are a lot of mufflers out there for the 2015 that would provide a similar sound.

      Bill Tumas I can't believe you wouldn't get at least a 15 hp increase. The resonator weighs 35 lbs alone & IMHO would help just by removing that thing just for the weight. I'd need a Ford rep to explain the benefits to that god awful thing. Seems to me, it would hold some ponies back just having that resonator on there blocking better exhaust flow. Good video tho. Totally agree about a more aggressive exhaust. Stock doesn't do it for me. I plan on getting a Borla Touring catback on my 2015 when it comes in.

    I just had this installed on my '15 GT, same color and everything. The only problem is that when I'm accelerating this this weird resonance that comes and goes when I pass a certain rpm range and it sounds like someone blowing air over a glass coke bottle of that makes sense...
    What is the issue?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Honestly I have no idea. Sounds like one of the pipes may not be 100% sealed and you have a very slight leak? I ran this system on my car and didn't have anything thing like that

    • @dbottiaux88
      @dbottiaux88 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Tumas OK thanks Bill. The guy who installed it, I'm going to get it checked out today by him again... he cut 2" at one of the couplers... I don't know why... kind of pissed of about that... so I have no idea if that would be a cause of the issue with, like you said, sealing the pipe, etc.
      I'd prefer your professional opinion over someone that was referred to me by the ford dealership here. It sounds to me like the guy didn't install it 100% correctly. I don't know what to do exactly. It was a mom and pop type of shop so I highly doubt they have any guarantees on installations.
      Thoughts on that?

    • @dbottiaux88
      @dbottiaux88 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      OH he did say there was a very slight small leak that he could hear with a stethoscope or w/e that tool is, so could that cause the slight pipe humming sound?

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** There should be NO reason to cut the pipes at all for installation. I have installed a dozen of these and they fit perfectly.

    • @dbottiaux88
      @dbottiaux88 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Tumas what can I do about this? He told me that not all exhausts fit perfectly and slight adjustments may be necessary, and now I'm thinking that his "adjustment" messed up the seal on one of the pipes. I'm sure there are fixes for that, because I do NOT want to spend another $1,400 on a new one. This is killing me with all the regret of even taking it to the guy in the first place. I should have waited til Saturday and installed it myself at my friend's father's shop.

      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tibor Nagy I have not worked on a european version so I can't say for sure but I don't see why it wouldn't. As long as your stock exhaust looks the same as the one in the video.

    • @benanderson89
      @benanderson89 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tibor Nagy It should be identical. The only issue might be the Right Hand Drive Mustang that has different headers on the driver's side (American passenger side).

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep in mind this is stainless steel, most "muffler" shops are not using stainless. A good shop that has a mandrel bender and uses stainless isn't going to be cheap for a custom made exhaust system.

    • @PabloDLH
      @PabloDLH 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply Bill, but in reality what benefits does stainless steal have?

    • @PabloDLH
      @PabloDLH 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** do you have a link to the setup you will be using??

    • @mrksts1
      @mrksts1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well of course stainless is not going to rust apart in a few years. Muffler shops use aluminized steel, and not many mandrel bend tubing. They crush bend it which leaves wrinkles on the inside of the bend. Bolt-on is nice too so you don't have to cut on a factory exhaust. Just bolt the old one back on when you fell like it.

  • @jasonhuynh7512
    @jasonhuynh7512 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why spend all that money for just the "name" exhaust when u can just straight pipe it? Mufflers just reduce noise in general

    These newer mustangs just dont have the signature sound of its ancestors. Not sure exactly what they changed but load a video of like an 89 or 90's model or even early/mid 2000s mustang and it's the traditional sound that Mustang enthusiasts like myself came to love. Noticed on the 2013 or 2014 it sounds like this one. Just not the same to me. Back in those days you could close your eyes and be able to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that a mustang just passed by. A little broken heart'd about that =(.

    • @justingrace666
      @justingrace666 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Search "Bad Ass Mustang" on TH-cam. The first video has a black mustang on it. Name of the video is "Bad ass Mustang Cobra with Kenne Bell Supercharger." THAT is the mustang sound im referencing. The new ones sound completely different.

    • @emilson591
      @emilson591 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      times change, and a lot of people don't what loud rides. a lot of them have mustangs as daily drivers and not as their personal pony.....I myself don't like loud cars.

    • @justingrace666
      @justingrace666 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Key i probably should have been more specific. It wasn't the loudness of the car i was after. The sound or tone is what i was more talking about. The "sound" of the mustang seems to be gone in the newer models. It's the throaty sound that i myself loved about Mustangs. Newer ones just have a completely different sound all together.

    • @justingrace666
      @justingrace666 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not complaining just to complain lol. I still think the new ones sound great. As a mustang owner it just was something i noticed relax lol. I didn't question the HP or Torque. Just simply stating my view on the new vs old stang...geeze

    • @justingrace666
      @justingrace666 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obviously...im not saying anything about the overall look of the car, performance or HP. Im talking about how the older mustangs sounded compared to the new Coyote engine.
