Silicone rubber is not a plastic and is considered safe/inert up to, in some cases, about 500°F... To my knowledge it does not leech chemicals out and into the food in which is prepared on it. Just FYI...
Metal baking trays don't give you flexibility and silicone is cheaper anyhow. They're also easier to clean, easier to remove things from, don't rust, don't warp, make for easier storage...the list goes on. It may not be that big of a worry for people cooking at home (though I would personally love to have some of these), but it's invaluable for bakeries and restaurants.

It's called a Guitar candy slicer or it can be a double guitar candy slicer but it didnt show if it had both slicers but that is what the machine is called. It is expensive.
Wow, me and my grandma use to make these types of layered treats (we even have our secret recipe ^^) and we'd use a 20'x20' pan, but as uses went by it got all sorts of distorted and stuff, this looks like a good replacement wor the pan xD
OH ha, I accidentally clicked on your name when I went to look at where he lives. That is odd, maybe he moved to the USA and is talking about his country of origin...? He doesn't say where that is though.

This video is so 90s especially when they show the food after it's made 😂
I've been watching videos like this for over 4 hours now. It's official-I have no life.
He makes baking look so effortless!
I can literally watch this for hours goodness
Me, too.
*****
With premium fresh products this must be delicious !
Love the idea of the molds but when the music sounds like a 90s erotic movie. LOL.
I still can't remember how i got here, i was listening to music and then, BOOM !!! Cake videos !!!!
That 1970's music though is outta sight! You dig?
@weeks87 yes, but that rubber "Silicone" can withstand temperatures up to 482°F and is microwave safe. It is also nonstick.
That first one looked great!
I couldn't take my eyes away. It was very satisfying :D

WHY IS THIS SO SATISFYING
ITS STILL SATISFYING
Looks awesome, but it also looks like the molds are leaving a black residue on the cakes. Not sure that is good!
Would so love one of these. Works great for candy making.
this...look...so....GOOD!!!!! T-T i can now feel my mouth water for something sweet...TT-TT
I'm still watching this... really like it
It's not plastic or rubber... it's woven glass and food grade silicone - very different from other silicone products in stores. It is amazing!
เวลาต่างประเทศทำอาหารแต่ล่ะทีนี้.คืออออ.สุดยอดอ่ะ
no :3 silicone.
it has a high temperature resistance, food grade silicone is often preferred by pastry chefs for its resistance and flexibility
That little swish at 1:03, brilliant
I don't even know why I keep coming back to watch this video. From the looks of the comments, I'm not alone.
I'm in culinary school right now... And I find it easier to use a hotel pan instead of a mold. You get the same results.

The chef is too professional >"
In the description it says "silicone". I'm sure both the plastic and silicone are heat-resistant or capable of being baked.
