TH-cam creators want to "engage" you as long as they can because the more minutes you watch, (the more likes, comments, shares, saves, etc. they get), the better their stats are, and that's important for the algorithm, especially if they are monetizing their channel. First I check the length of the video, take a quick look to see if it's worth it, and then when I see that someone is deliberately dragging it out (it's actually pretty obvious after the first 30-60 seconds), that's it for me-I click away; I will NOT support people and channels like that. I also often watch videos like this at 2x speed if I am at all interested. I definitely do not want to watch someone measuring and stirring for long minutes, especially without any commentary or useful tips or tricks they share, etc.
On occasion I watch even 30-minute cooking videos because the creator is really fun and engaging. But they do that because they truly enjoy both cooking and teaching, and they want a genuine connection with their audience. Most of these "it only takes" headlines are clickbait. The number of cooking (and similar) videos and Facebook, IG, TT, etc. groups and posts that have emerged is just ridiculous. When you have to click away to get the recipe or to get the second half of a story, that's all clickbaiting.... and I just don't "bite" anymore. I hope this will help someone next time they see and engage with a 25-min video.

The cake she made was patechoux so cream puffs would be much easier and they would have more bounce to them. That filling looks delicious for cream puffs.
Yes, that would be delicious. The cake she made was made out of choux pastry, so you could make profiteroles with it and fill them with whipped cream and then pour chocolate sauce over the top of them.

Just as someone else noted - this takes a lot longer than 5 minutes to be ready. You should not indicate the cake could be ready in 5 minutes. It takes at least 5 to 6 hours for it to be ready.
It's simple clickbait and once they've got you, they'll hopefully have you through the entire video. Many of these types of baking videos, especially outside of the U.S., all do the same thing - they lie about what the video really is. I might watch the video but I won't subscribe to them which I might have done if they weren't misleading us.

This baker is inefficient and mediocre. The roll could be made in half the time, filled more and been much more attractive. Pat a cho pastry in a pot should take half the time. Used canned crushed pineapple. This baker could not even get pineapple out of a can.

I kept waiting for the final presentation, but I must admit that at each labor-intensive step along the way, I was ready to grab a spoon and dig in. But wait, here comes some more prep work. My old arthritic hands could never make it through to the presentation. I'll buy some, but it is not for the beginning baker. Yum.
My mother was from Germany and she called Shoe paste here in Canada. I put it in a pastry bag and make cream puffs from them.

Exactly. None of those things take any time at all....Boil and stir, buy crushed pineapple, use something that actually mixes the ingredients. Stir up the rest, whip the cream..mix it all together. I think I would just make individual cream puffs, then split and fill. Easy and pretty quick.

This video is nowhere near long enough. You omitted to show us the 4 hours chilling in the refrigerator in real time (although I appreciate that this is tricky because I am led to believe that the light goes out when you close the refrigerator door!)

How can you title this as a French cake 5 minutes, when ya still where beating in the eggs at 6, 7 minutes & some seconds?
Why add each egg separately? Put all 4 in at once & stir till softly creamy. That dough in my opinion is gonna be tough because of all the stirring or mixing you have done.

the dough is a chox pastry and thats how its made. But this is an all day project. and overkill with the filling.
Adding eggs one at a time gives them a chance to fully incorporate into the mixture, making a more stable emulsion. It also helps prevent curdling and streaks of egg in the mixture.

You essentially made a flat cream puff. The way you made the dough is similar to patechoux. Then you made pastry cream with pineapple puree. Looks delicious.

Choux pastry. I learned that decades ago from Julia Child.
I learned it from my mother. It's called "Brandteig" in Germany and is used to make eclairs and cream puffs.
