CHOOSE ME is a perfect Rock song. At once catchy yet complex, it starts off upbeat and builds steadily in intensity until it’s arresting climax. Hearing CHOOSE ME in the context of BAND-MAID’s later music just further validates its greatness. An outstanding musical achievement.
"Choose Me" is classic punk pop Band-Maid (released in July, 2017, so 7.5 years ago now) - a wonderful rock and roll (which, really, was what punk was all about) song with great blues and funk influences. Another great reaction, MommaOG!! 🤘🤘💕💕
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" and the HBO Max series Peacemaker as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are, along with The Warning band, almost single-handedly bringing back the joy of rock. I don't know if you've listened to any of Band-Maid's anime songs, but if you are interested they dropped a new video for a song called "Zen" yesterday which is the opening song for an anime called Zenshu. Haven't seen the anime myself (i'm an old 70's, 80's rocker dude) but I really enjoyed the song. As usual, enjoyed your reaction.

“Choose Me” is quintessential Maid. Love it. Always will. Early on, this was their okiyuji closer. And they actively played it twice at the Yokohama 10th Anniversary show! The little part of Kanami’s solo that jumped out to you was her sweep picking the notes. It has a different sound and it’s really cool that you noticed.
If you want to hear the barefoot assassin getting funky on the bass, they dropped a track called Honkai. MISA and Akane just jam together the first 90 seconds or so. Just a super funky bass line
